Happy Little Stampers Case The Designer March 2016...Big Birthday Wishes

Hello and happy March.  I'm here to post a card for Happy Little Stampers Case the Designer challenge.

This month, our inspiration is provided by the very talented Kim Heggins. Just take a look at the fun card Kim made to inspire us.

I was inspired by all the fun panels Kim has on her card.  Each panel has an adorable image or scene, and it is all pulled together by her sentiment.

I used a Pretty Pink Posh die I recently purchased and some PTI stamps to make a fun birthday card. I have 3 different panels--two of them have images from Tremendous Treats--that I fussy cut and colored, and my third panel has the sentiment.

I really wanted to make a kid's birthday card because Kim's card was so perfect for her young students.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: February, 2016

It's time for our February 12 Kits of Occasions post.  This month, Nancy is our hostess, and she sent a wonderful and enormous kit, filled with everything one would need to color and paint up a storm. Her theme is Watercolor Wonder, and I had so much fun playing with everything in the kit.  I was even able to try some new techniques with some of the goodies she sent.

Of course, I have lots of leftovers as well. I can't wait to see what everyone else did with their supplies so I can CASE them with my leftovers.

Here is a peek at the kit Nancy sent out.

I made 6 cards before I ran out of time.

I used distress inks to water color these gold embossed flowers that Nancy included.  There were 3 flowers in the kit, and I painted and fussy cut 2 of them.  

I brushed a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress ink under the flowers and used a gold glitter die cut sentiment.

This entire card front came to me already stamped.  All I had to do on this one was add the die cut sentiment and paint the flowers and leaves.

I used a few different colors of Distress Inks for my watercoloring.

Nancy sent this card front with the gold embossed sentiment, and I added the gold jewels and black enamel hearts.

This next card came together in a quick moment.  Nancy sent several sentiments heat embossed in black on vellum.  I chose one to fit in the frame, and just added a bit of gold gel pen to the inner frame layer.

How fabulous are these donuts?  They are zero calories--no fat or sugar either.

I colored the donuts with copics, used a very thin marker to add sprinkles, and then added a heavy layer of Glossy Accents.

Nancy included some large salt crystals in her kit, and I used them to create some interest to the water colored panel behind this butterfly die.

I added my own sentiment to this card, stamped and embossed on vellum, so I did not have to cover up much of these pretty butterflies.

Here is another peek at a card I posted last week here.  I was able to use the masking fluid that Nancy included in her kit to play along with last week's Make it Monday.

I used so many of the elements in this kit, but still have so much left over. Thanks so much, Nancy, for sending such a wonderful kit.

PTI Feb 2016 Blog Hop Plus a Birthday Card

A quick post today to share two cards.  My first card takes inspiration from this pretty photo for this month's Papertrey February 2016 Blog Hop.

I was inspired by the pink flower on the right and the green ferns in the center of the photo.

I stamped a random background of flowers from Cutting Garden in Sweet Blush, and then softened them with a piece of vellum.  I adhered two stamped die cut fern leaves from Meadow Greens and added a sentiment from Wet Paint.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.

Next up is a card using this week's technique from Make it Monday #240: Watercolor Resist.  I was lucky enough to receive a little pot of masking fluid from Nancy as part of the kit I will reveal here in a few days, so I was able to participate in this week's technique.

I used colors suggested by Just us Girls #331: Teal, Aqua and Navy Ziggie markers and then cut my water colored piece with the Heart to Heart Balloon die.

Time Out #50...Reminder...Rome

There is still time to play along with our challenge at Time Out.  This week we have a photo inspiration for our challenge.  

I took my inspiration from the black and white color scheme and also the theme of travel. 

I was inspired by the partial picture of the Roman Collsseum, and used a stamp by Penny Black.  I colored a few of the images with a colored pencil.

CASology Week #186: Distress

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.  This week, our cue word is
Distress.  I have been loving my Distress inks lately, so decided to use them in two different ways.

I used Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint to watercolor the images on my card front.  The images came pre-stamped on water color paper, part of a new Bold Blossoms paper pad by PTI.

I used Distress ink Tumbled Glass to sponge a light amount of color surrounding my flowers.

I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #58: Sequins.

ColourQ #330....Just for You

Happy Tuesday and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.

We have a fun color scheme for you this week--so bright and happy, and it makes me think of spring. I must admit that looking out my window today also makes me think of spring, as we have been having unseasonably warm weather in San Diego.

Anyhow, on to my card...I used PTI Lovely Laurels to create a sweet and simple focal point for my CAS card.  I'll admit that most of this card is white, but there are spots of all four challenge colors as well.

My Crafty Weekend

I did not stray too far from Lizzie's example when I created my card for Make it Monday #239: Customizing Patterned Paper.

I started with the red and white polka dotted pattern paper, and added Memento Grey Flannel circles to random white circles.  I purposely stamped the grey a little offset from the white.  

I took my color inspiration from this week's Color Throwdown #180.

Tracey's Muse Card

I am so glad I had time to play along with Muse #153, because my good friend Tracey provided the inspiration this week.

I was inspired by Tracey's flowers--their placement, the colors and the gold outlines.

I started with a stamp from Unity Let Your Dreams Bloom, and heat embossed it in gold.  I used colored pencils to color the flowers and added a die cut sentiment and a few gold sequins.

I am also entering this card at AAA #58: Sequins.

I finally broke open one of the coloring books I bought a while back, cut a card sized piece and started coloring.  My design is a loose interpretation of this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #160, rotated 180 degrees.

I used Prisma Color pencils, and then added my sentiments with foam tape.

I am entering this at The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  One of these days, I am going to actually take the challenge, and color a little bit every day for 30 days.
