Happy Thursday

Hello.  I'm popping in on a Thursday with 2 cards I made this week.  First up is a card I made in support of my friend, Sandie's post about Purple Day--the international day to raise awareness of epilepsy.  Please click here to see Sandie's post and learn more about Sandie's story and epilepsy.  Also, there is a blog hop starting on Sandie's blog, with lots of prizes along the way.

For this card, I used Memory Box Flower Power stencil and a trio of Distress Ink purple inks.

I am entering this card at Memory Box Challenge #47: Flower Power and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

I also played with my new Hero Arts Pet Turtle stamps to make this fun belated birthday card.  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #381, rotated 90 degrees, and am also playing along at Addicted to Stamps and More #334: Clean and Simple, Addicted to CAS #155:  Green, and Less is More #391:  Take 3.

Time Out #131...Reminder...Wishing You a Wonderful Birthday

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is 'Inspired by Words' and since we are celebrating the 5th Birthday of Time Out, the words are all about birthdays.

I had some fun stamping and then coloring these festive birthday candles from Concord & 9th.  I wanted to focus on the 'birthday wishes' portion of our challenge, and thought of making a wish and blowing out the candles.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Kara, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.   Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #336...Ocean

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is OCEAN.  I am in love with the little turtles in PTI Salt Air Fauna, so put them in the ocean for a little swim in this card that will be perfect for me to send to a friend or family member who just needs a little support.

Now it's your turn.  How does OCEAN inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.  We are sponsored by STAMPlorations.

This is a 2 week challenge...more time to play along (or play twice for twice the fun!)

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer Asa and the CASology design team.

3 Cards from Saturday

I did not have as much crafty time as I had hoped this weekend, but I did make a lot of progress on the sweater I am knitting.  Just 3 cards to share.

First up is a card using MFT Birthday Bear & Friends, and I am entering it at MFT Color Challenge #112 , MFT Sketch Challenge #426Just Us Girls #477:  Birthday, and AAA Cards #135: One Plus Three plus Friends (stamped image, die cut, coloring + of course the bear is sharing his cake with his friends).

Next up is a card for Laurie's Fabulous Favorites over at PTI.  The challenge this week was a favorite PTI accessory, and I pulled out some oldies/goodies.  Several years ago, I bought a bunch of colors of embossing powders and also rhinestones, and I used both of these on my card.

I followed the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #311 and am also entering this card at The Paper Players #431:  Spring Fever.

Last up is a card using Memory Box Dogwood Blossom Outline die that I am entering at the Memory Box Flower Power challenge.  I cut this die several times out of different colors of paper, then pieced it back together.  I am also entering this card at Inkspirational #181:  Use Your Stash and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes.
