Happy Retirement

I have kind of given up on PTI these days, but when I happened to notice that Ink to Paper was hosting Laurie's Fabulous Favorites challenge this week, and I could play using PTI stamps, I pulled out a few supplies and got to it.  The challenge is to use Vellum, and I stamped the medium sized butterfly from Butterfly Folk on to a piece of vellum, heat embossed it in clear and then fussy cut it out.  I mounted it on another piece of vellum, following the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #400 (Congrats to FMS on 400!!)

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #356:  Anything Goes and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Penguin Birthday Party

I created a fun summer pool party using MFT Penguins in Paradise, inspired by the color scheme at MFT Color Challenge #124 and the Along the Edge challenge at AAA Cards #147.  I am also linking up at Simon Says Monday Challenge: S is for....summer, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes, and Addicted to Stamps and More #356: Anything Goes.

Mid-Week Crafty Fun

What a treat for me to get some crafting time during the week.  First up is a card using my very first stamp set from Betsy Veldman's new stamping company, The Greetery.  I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #336 and am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge:  S is for...Succulents.

Next up is my take on the (dreaded) one-layer card with a masculine birthday card I made using one stamp and one stencil.  I am entering this card at Addicted to CAS #166: One Layer,  Less is More #402: One Layer Stencil, and AAA Birthday #4: For the Boys.

The August Stretch Your Stamps challenge at A Blog Named Hero has caused me to pull out some new and old Hero Arts stamps to play along.  My next two cards are for that challenge.  I am also entering them at Color Throwdown #558 and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes.

I was also inspired by the sketch at Retro Rubber #118 for this card, which uses a Hero Arts background cling stamp and a PTI balloon stamp that are at least 5 years old.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  What is the best thing to do when you are up crazy early with jet lag?  Make cards, of course!!

First up is a CAS birthday card that I am entering at Color Throwdown #557 and Addicted to Stamps and More #355.

I am entering this next card at Just Add Ink #471 where I was inspired by the yarn colors to do some color blocking with my new Altenew Layered Cityscape dies.  I am also entering this at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge of Clean and Simple.

My next card is for the challenge at A Blog Named Hero August:  Stretch Your Stamps.  I used a bookcase background stamp and cut it to use it as a frame.  I am also entering this card at AAA Birthdays #4:  For the Boys.

Time for some fall fun with the mice on my next card, where I have used an interpretation of the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #451, and rotated the sketch 90 degrees.

I stamped some brightly colored baby birds from Paper Smooches up the side of my next card, and I am entering it at the Paper Smooches August challenge and AAA Cards #147: Along the Edge.

And finally, a card inspired by all the laundry I did this week, after returning from vacation.  I am entering it at Lawn Fanatics #59:  Something See-Through, where I used their suggestion and used vellum on my washing machine, and the sketch at The Paper Players #496.

That's it for me today.  I had a wonderful vacation, but it is good to be back.

Time Out #142...Reminder...Have a Groovy Birthday

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, we challenge you to be inspired by the theme:  FASHIONABLE.

Aren't these shoes groovy and fashionable?  I don't think I'd be able to walk across a room wearing them, but they do make for a fun card, don't they?  I used Stamplorations Groovy Shoes stamps for this card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is , so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge. Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #350...Water

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is WATER.  I created a deep blue ocean using PTI Text and Texture Ocean stamps, and invited a playful school of jumping fish to swim along.

Now it's your turn.  How does WATER inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer Amy C. and the CASology design team.  Our sponsor this week is STAMPlorations.
