Time Out #208...8th Birthday Celebration

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out and we have a very special challenge for you this month.

It's our 8th Birthday!!

It wouldn't be a party without party guests and prizes.  Please head over to the Time Out blog to see who our guests are and what prizes our generous sponsors are offering.

Please join us to help Time Out celebrate our 8th birthday by creating a birthday card.

I wanted to create a birthday card where the entire card looked like it was a party.  I mixed and matched stamps and die cuts from PTI and Concord &9th in some of my favorite party colors.

Here is an extra bonus card I made with a different color scheme and some yummy ice cream.  You know it's not a party without ice cream.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous guests and the Time Out Design Team. We have many generous sponsors for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Dogs are in the House

I pulled out a large heart die, a couple of embossing folders and the adorable dogs from Tim Holtz Mini Cats and Dogs to make a trio of Valentines for some of my dog-loving friends.  Actually, I think that all of my friends are dog lovers.  I probably should have made a few more of these.

Embossing folder from Altenew and Texture plate from PTI.  The sentiment is from SSS.

There are so many fun challenges involving friends, love, hearts, etc., and I am trying to hit them all.  I am entering these cards at Just Us Girls #618: Friends, AAA Cards #208: Black & White + 1 Color (red), Addicted to CAS #213: Hearts, Retro Rubber #175: Love, Love, Love (I've had these stamps for 2 or 3 years, but I think they are older), Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love is in the Air, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Emboss it, The Paper Players #577: Love & Friendship, and Color Hues #34: Red & Black.

Another dog card from me today, this one is a birthday card for a little neighbor boy who really loves Sherlock but is still gathering up his courage to get close enough to pet him.  He is turning 4, and Sherlock is sending him this card, hoping to win his heart.

This card was inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch #580, AAA Birthday #34: Pattern (grass made of striped patterned paper), CAS on Friday #224: Male, and WWC334: Occasions (birthday).

Time Out #207...Wishing You Weren't So Far Away

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We are trying something new this year---a CASE challenge where we are playing along with one of my favorite card designers,  Michele from I Card Everyone

Take a wander through Michele's beautiful blog, and you will see why we feel so lucky and thrilled that she created a card just for our challenge, and for all of our lovely participants to CASE.

We challenge you to make a card inspired by this beautiful card made by Michele from I Card Everyone:

Now, there are so many ways to be inspired by this lovely card.  I was inspired by the color gradient Michele used for her pink die cuts, and decided to do something similar with die cuts.  I chose die cuts in shades of turquoise for my card.  I was also inspired by that big, beautiful heart right smack in the middle of the card, and chose to use a circular window in the middle-ish of my card.  As a master of CAS card design, Michele's card is a CAS creation, and so I kept my card very simple as well.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Ashwini Rao,  and the Time Out Design Team.  Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I feel like it's been ages since I made a big crafty mess and finished the weekend with a long blog post.  Let's get right into it.

First up is this valentine for a friend.  Inside, it says Happy Pal-entine's Day.  I must admit to making a couple of these, as I am so very fond of the adorable mice in this Secret Admirer set from Waffle Flower.  I am entering this card at Just Us Girls #618: Friends, Just add Ink #589: Minimalist, Retro Rubber #175: Love, Love, Love (I have had these stamps for just a couple of years, but I think they are older than that, as I saw them on clearance somewhere recently), and The Paper Players #577: Love and Friendship.

The stamps and dies in my next two cards are from the January 2022 My Monthly Hero kit.  I figure I'd better break out that kit now, as the Feb kit will be on it's way to me before I know it.  I've actually got several weddings coming up, so this card will be for one of them.  All the stamps and dies are from Hero Arts, with the exception of the sentiment, which is a favorite from PTI Propose a Toast.

I am entering this card at Perfectly CAS #23: Flowers, The Flower Challenge #65: Occasions (wedding), WWC334: Occasions (wedding), and Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero: Anything Goes.

Here is another take using the same stamps and dies...I am entering this card at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge: Inky, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: With Love, and Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero: Anything Goes.

Last up is a card using Hero Arts Looking Glass dies that I bought and meant to use for my holiday crafting, but actually didn't get around to breaking them open until just now.  Well, I am getting a head start on 2022, and I might just send out cards next year.  I am entering this card at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero: Anything Goes, Addicted to Stamps and More #422: Christmas, CAS on Friday #224: Male, Happy Little Stampers Christmas Anything Goes, and CAS Christmas February Challenge: Winter Scene.

CASology #400...Affection

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is AFFECTION.

This cue word made me want to pull out a really old die from PTI Love Lives Here and pair it with a sentiment from a newer Hero Arts MMH kit.  I played around with colors and just found three that I liked together.  I've got the houses with hearts cut out, which reminds me of how much I love my neighborhood, but I would love it more if some of my besties would move in next door.

Now it's your turn.  How does AFFECTION inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our design team.
