Time Out #186...Reminder...Hang in There

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by PETS.  A pet you have, a pet you want, a pet you don't want....  We'd love to see how you are inspired by PETS.

I used these really cute Newton Hangs Out stamps from our sponsor, Newton's Nook.  Isn't this a fun encouragement card?  It reminds me (in a good way) of those old cheesy posters that used to hang in corporate lunch rooms.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Time Out Design Team.  Newton's Nook is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #389...Dear

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is DEAR.

I thought of dear friends, and what fun things I used to do with my friends (before Zoom and pandemic).  I pulled out Dear Best Friend stamps and dies from Picket Fence, and put together this quick and simple card.  To add some color and emphasis to my image, I added just a bit of stenciling behind my die cut image.

Now it's your turn.  How does DEAR inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer Tenia  and the design team.

Anniversary Card

Hello there.  I am popping in quickly to post an anniversary card for A Blog Named Hero: Anniversary Challenge.  It is difficult to take a picture of the shiny gold paper, but imagine it is all gold.  I used stamps and dies from one of my MMH kits.

Happy Birthday

Hello and happy Sunday.  I have three cards using supplies from the My Monthly Hero kit that is all about books and reading.  I was inspired to make them all birthday cards to refill my birthday stash and also to play along with the challenge at Stay Crafty with Hero #22.

There is lots of coloring on all of these cards, so I am also entering them over at the 10 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker.

Time Out #185...Reminder...You're on My Mind

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by this photo.  Here is a closer look at the inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the peaceful seaside scene, and so used sponsor stamps Kitchen Sink Seaside Seagull to create a seaside scene on my card.  I fell in love with these wonderful stamps from Kitchen Sink.  They are all multi-step and so easy to line up.  It made it easy to get a card with realistic detail without having to break out my Copic markers.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Claire A. and the Time Out Design Team.  Kitchen Sink Stamps is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #388...Hello

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is
HELLO.  This is a great prompt for me to make a card just to say hello to a friend who lives far away--or who lives close by but who I can't visit because of Covid.

I die cut a small hello from Simon Says Stamp several times and glued them together to get some dimension.  I stencilled a star burst in the corner, added my dimensional hello and a few gemstones, and my Clean and Simple card was done.

Now it's your turn.  How does HELLO inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer, Asa,  and the design team.

Kindness is Always Fashionable

Hello.  I am popping in quickly to share a card I made inspired by the challenge at Ink to Paper, The Great Cover-UP to combine old and new products.  I combined this gorgeous dress from Ink to Paper She Blooms with one of my favorite sentiments from Papertrey Ink Fashion Sense.  I think these two sets were made to be used together.

Happy Mother's Day

It's been a busy weekend, and I just have one card to share today.  I am trying to get ready for Mother's Day and took inspiration from the ITP What Do I Do With This Challenge: Embossing Powder Stained Glass.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Layer It and Happy Little Stampers April Watercolor Challenge.

Rainbow Trees

There is a bit of a a story to this card...I pulled out an old Poppystamps die called Party Lanterns in order to make a rainbow card for the Poppystamps Challenge #79: Rainbow.  As I was putting the card together, I happened to turn the card front around, and then suddenly, those lanterns looked like rainbow trees.  Perhaps it is because I had the Festive Friday #81: Earth Day (blue, green, trees, sunshine) challenge on my mind.  I added a sun to complete my scene, and now I have a rainbow forest of trees.  My rainbow colors were inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo at Inspired By #169: Spring is Sweet.

That's it for me.  Hoping for a crafty weekend ahead.

Mid Week Update

Hello and happy Wednesday.  I am here to post a few cards I was able to make this week.  First up is this adorable trio of cat friends.  It may be raining, but these cats are happy anyway.  After stamping my images, I used a mix of paper piecing and Copic coloring.  Because the images were so small and overlapping, I had to build up some layers to get things just how I wanted them.

I am entering this card at Inky Paws #145: Friendship, CAS Mix Up: Paper Piecing, and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Layer It.

Next up is a card using these adorable polar bears from Penny Black Arctic Antics.  I ordered these stamps years ago, when my daughter started college at a school with a polar bear mascot---she has just graduated, and I am finally now using the stamps.  Oops on me.  I was inspired to finally pull out these bears when I stumbled upon the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme this week is 'cute', and I think these fun loving bears fit the bill.

I am also entering this card at CAS Christmas April Challenge: Rainbow and Addicted to Stamps and More #402: Christmas.

I used my brand new Hero Arts City HeroScape stamps to create my next three cards.  As you might know if you are a frequent visitor to my blog, I am nuts over anything city.  I pulled out these stamps and started experimenting with colors.

My first two cards are anniversary cards, which is very fitting for many members of my family who either live in New York or are from there originally (including yours truly and my DH).  I am entering this blue version at Festive Friday #81: Earth Day (blue, CAS, ombre), A Blog Named Hero April: Anniversary, and WWC313: Masculine.  The sentiment is from PTI Wet Paint, and I cut out and popped up the word 'anniversary'.

I was inspired to make a version of this card using three different shades of yellow by the challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge #28: Delightfully Daffodil.  I am also entering this card at A Blog Named Hero April: Anniversary and Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #21: Bring On Spring.

And, my last city card, also using a bright spring color scheme is a birthday card.  My sentiment is a million years old, from an old Stampin Up wooden set I never use but cannot part with either.  I am entering this card at Addicted to CAS #194: Birthday, Perfectly CAS #13: Birthday, WWC313: Masculine, Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #21: Bring On Spring, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Birthday.
