Happy Sunday

Hello and happy Sunday.  I am squeaking in before the current challenge ends at AAA Birthday #22: A Large Sentiment.  I pulled out some die cuts that my bestie Kim sent me a while back and used them to make a pair of cards that I am also entering at the MFT Color Challenge #160, Addicted to Stamps and More #399: Any Occasion (birthday), WWC310: Occasions (birthday), and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Here is a closer look at each card...I am also entering this card with my bear and his tower of chocolate gifts at Addicted to CAS #192: Animal and Inkspirational #233: Tower.  I sponged ink on the die cut letters and adhered them to a card front, adding my bear popped up with foam tape.

I added strips of colored card stock to the back of my die cut card front, after popping out all of the letters.  Then I added my chocolate cake right on top of the 'O' in you.

My next card is inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #530 and MFT Slimline Challenge: Birthday Wishes.  I created this little scene using MFT Winter Songbirds, and the MFT Cloud stencil.  I don't use Twitter, but love this playful sentiment.

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #208: Create a Scene, Addicted to Stamps and More #399: Any Occasion (birthday), WWC310: Occasions (birthday), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes, and Addicted to CAS #192: Animal.

I always love a reason to pull out some PTI stamps, and the challenge to Create a Thinking of You Card at Ink to Paper this week gave me all the reason I needed.  I used stamps from Fence Line Summer and a sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes for this card.

Last to post, but first to create....this card was inspired by the photo at  Just Us Girls #573.  I fell in love with that wonderful sky, and attempted to create one just like it myself, using blue, purple and green  Distress Oxide inks, Avery Elle Clear Shimmer Spray and dots of white paint.  I found this trees die in my stash, and thought it would play off the trees in the inspiration photo.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Get Wellie Soon

Today, I water colored a card, inspired by the challenge at Inky Paws #142: Use Watercolors.  I pulled out my water color pencils, which I haven't used for quite a while and colored this sweet kitty and her rain boots.  I am also entering this card at Perfectly CAS #12: Splash, The Paper Players #529: Feline Fine, Addicted to Stamps and More #399: Any Occasion, WWC310: All About Occasions, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Crafting with Hero Arts

I pulled out some old and new Hero Arts stamps to create three cards that I plan to enter over at A Blog Named Hero Anything Goes.

This first card uses one of my earliest and most favorite stamps.  It is called Silly Scape, and it always makes me smile.  I colored the buildings using a rainbow of Copic markers, inspired by both the challenge at Just Us Girls #572: Rainbow and the inspiration photo at Fusion: Rainbow Dress.  My design was also guided by the sketch at AAA Cards #184 and Addicted to Stamps and More #399: Any Occasion (birthday).

Next up is the dreaded one layer card...for the challenge at Less is More #437: One Layer and Flowers.  I used another one of my Hero Arts wooden oldies for this challenge, and was inspired to add interest to my simple image by embossing a wood grain textured frame around my flower using a Hero Arts Nested Wood Frame die.  My design was also guided by the sketch at AAA Cards #184.

Last up for today is this card using the adorable birds from Seize the Day Seagulls.  I was inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches #408.

Crafty Round Up

Hello and happy Sunday.  I've got a few cards to share today.  First up is a card inspired by the sketch at Lawn Fawnatics #95.  I used one of my favorite older Lawn Fawn sets and papers for this card--A Birdie Told Me and Into the Woods.  I've always loved those speech bubbles, and was very happy to find patterned paper that provided my sentiment.

My next card is inspired by the MFT Slimline Challenge to make a birthday card.  I really liked the designer sample card that used a bunch of festive large balloons, so that is what I did too.  I used colors from MFT Color Challenge #159, and am also entering this card at Happy Little Stampers February Stencil Challenge: Anything Goes and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Favorite Technique (stencil).

I created my next 4 cards when I saw the challenge at Inkspirational #233: Tower and my friend Sandie's card here.  I pulled out 2 Eiffel Tower dies and set to work having fun.  I will also be entering all 4 of these cards at Happy Little Stampers February Die Challenge: Anything Goes.

My first design was also inspired by the challenge at Just Us Girls #572: Rainbow and the photo at Fusion Challenge: Rainbow Dress.  I created a rainbow cloud background and added a thank you sentiment in French from Avery Elle Bonjour.

I made another card just like the one above, but with a sunnier background, and my sentiment is hello.

And, here they are both, together.

My next pair of cards uses a Paris Scape die by Sugar Pea Designs.  In December, 2019, my husband and I went to Paris as what was supposed to be the start of a new chapter for us...less work for him and more traveling for us together.  Well, we all know what happened in 2020...at least I still have the dies!  I am entering both of these cards at the February Sugar Pea Mix it Up Sketch Challenge #76 and Use Your Stuff #416: It's My Favorite (Paris is one of my favorite cities).

For this version of my Paris Scape, I created the sky by blending several different blue Distress Oxide inks.  Then, I splattered water and finally, sprayed with Avery Elle Clear Shimmer Spray.  I layered 3 die cuts together to add dimension to my scene. I am also entering this card at Inspired by #IB162: Quote Me (sentiment is a quote from Confucius) and Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge: Love is in the Air.

Here is a closer look at my second version with the Paris Scape die.  I used yellows and oranges to create more of a morning scene, and switched the die cut from white to black.  I also used water splatter and shimmer spray, but the effect is so much more subtle with the lighter colors.
