My Crafty Weekend

I did not stray too far from Lizzie's example when I created my card for Make it Monday #239: Customizing Patterned Paper.

I started with the red and white polka dotted pattern paper, and added Memento Grey Flannel circles to random white circles.  I purposely stamped the grey a little offset from the white.

I took my color inspiration from this week's Color Throwdown #180.

Tracey's Muse Card
I am so glad I had time to play along with Muse #153, because my good friend Tracey provided the inspiration this week.

I was inspired by Tracey's flowers--their placement, the colors and the gold outlines.

I started with a stamp from Unity Let Your Dreams Bloom, and heat embossed it in gold.  I used colored pencils to color the flowers and added a die cut sentiment and a few gold sequins.

I am also entering this card at AAA #58: Sequins.

I finally broke open one of the coloring books I bought a while back, cut a card sized piece and started coloring.  My design is a loose interpretation of this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #160, rotated 180 degrees.

I used Prisma Color pencils, and then added my sentiments with foam tape.

I am entering this at The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  One of these days, I am going to actually take the challenge, and color a little bit every day for 30 days.

More Mini Inspiration

I have had so much fun seeing everyone's mini creations this week on the CASology challenge blog. I was inspired to pull out a tiny little stamp set that a kind person included as a gift when I bought a stamp set from her.  I don't even know the name of this little set, but I was happy to finally ink it up.

I made a little set of 4 mini cards.  Each card is 2 1/4 inch square.  I used the two smallest MFT diagonal stitched square dies to create a frame for each mini image.  The images are all just under 1 inch square.

You can better see the size of this mini card in this picture, next to a card I made for this week's Less is More Birds challenge.  Unfortunately, I missed the deadline for Less is More, but it was still fun to ink up this new Owl stamp from Unity I ordered a few months back.  I colored it with Prisma pencils and added some glossy accents on the eyes and hat.

Here are my mini cards all together.

Do you have any tiny stamps that need to see some ink?  I hope I have inspired you to make something small and cute to play along with us at CASology this week.

I am also linking up at Simon Says Monday No Rules and Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.

One Layer Cards

Hi there and happy Thursday.  I've got 4 one layer cards to share today.

First up is a card inspired by the pink flowers at The Card Concept's One Year Anniversary celebration and uses the technique at this week's Make it Monday #196:  Colorful Card Corners.  I am putting my card into the Clean and Simple category.

I am also linking this card up at Simon Says Wednesday Something New because my Garden Grace stamps are new to me, and at Simon Says Monday new and old--my old are the SU inks I used (Pretty in Pink and Strawberry Slush).

I started playing around yesterday with my very newest stamp set, Tumbleweed Houses by Unity, trying to create something for this month's One-Layer Simplicity Challenge of Attractive Opposites.

I think this one is my favorite--the opposite is colored and not colored.

This one features black and white as well as colored and not colored.

My last card is black and white as well as hearts and no hearts.

I'd like to come back to this challenge sometime before it ends with some better opposites.  This session kind of morphed into an excuse to play around with my little houses.  I really like these stamps, but getting them lined up was kind of a bear, as they are cling, not clear.

Well, that's it for me today.  I am heading up to Orange County to meet Cathy Weber (Empty Nest Crafter) for coffee and a bit of stamping chat.  I'll post a picture tomorrow.
