Thinking of You and Belated Birthday Wishes

I had so much fun last week at Muse I decided to play again this week, where we have this beautiful card from Anita as our inspiration.

I decided to follow Anita's design and technique, switching up only the stamp set and ink color.

I used PTI Doodlie Do, stamping over the masked sentiment, masking the flowers to put some leaves in the background, and then sponging ink over the flowers.

After losing my first attempt to the rubbish bin because of unfortunate ink splatters after everything else was done, I decided to just add a pop of color with some sequins for my second attempt.  I don't think I get along well with splatters.

My next card is for the Create Along with Us challenge at PTI, where I chose a card by Ashley for my inspiration piece.

I was inspired by Ashley's fun use of the new floral stamp set, which I convinced myself I didn't need because I have Beautiful Blooms I and II.  They are not the same, but I thought I could pull off Ashley's design with supplies I already own.

I used a few different flowers from both of the Beautiful Blooms stamp sets to create a belated birthday card for my stash--despite my best efforts, I often find I need belated birthday cards.

I kept my colors to shades of pinks and greys, as I am also playing along at Inkspirational #104 and The Card Concept #51 Naturally Pink.  I would place my card in the Clean and Simple category.

Thanks for Visiting

  12. Definitely like your color choices better for your Muse challenge, and great job of masking, Joyce. Your take on Ashley's card turned out well incorporating older stamps with your dry embossing and framed sentiment.

  24. The sequins rock on the first card!! I love the pop of colour they add! I'm not so good with splatters either. It looks so easy in the videos I've watched but for me they go everywhere except where I want them. Love the embossed background on the second card.
