Time Out #111...Reminder...Warm Winter Wishes

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is Holidays with an optional twist to make a one layer card.

I decided to use one of my favorite holiday stamps from Neat & Tangled, Winter Wishes.  I love the look of this stamp, and I really love how easy it is to make a card with it.  Everything is all on one stamp--no lining up or multiple stamping.  I played along with the optional twist, and made a one layer card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Ishani, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  Seven Hills Craft is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

ColourQ #321...Warm Winter Wishes

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.   We have a new color scheme for you this week. and it inspired me to make one more holiday card.

I love this rustic little Winter Wishes holiday set from Neat & Tangled.  I used my MISTI to stamp the individual images in exactly the same spot as they are in the stamp that contains all the images.  By stamping them individually, I was able to get everything the color I wanted.

First I stamped the large stamp with all the images onto a piece of clear plastic.  Then, I used that clear plastic to guide my placement of each individual stamp.

I am also linking this card up at Happy Little Stampers December CAS Challenge: Favorite Technique (embossing) and CAS-ual Fridays #146: Snowflakes.

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team. I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

Monday Recap

Hello and happy Monday.  I'm here posting a few things I started yesterday and finished today.

I just love my new Stamplorations Houses stamps.  I broke them out for the first time and embossed them in white on colored card stock.  They were really easy to fussy cut.  I added a grass die cut and adhered everything onto a white card front embossed with a Sunrise impression plate.  I used the Stamplorations sketch rotated 90 degrees.

I am entering this card at Color Throwdown #326Stamplorations January Stamps and InkStamplorations Sketch Challenge #26 and Stamplorations Anything Goes Challenge.

This card seemed doomed from the start.  It is so very simple, but I won't say how many tries ended up in the scrap heap because of irregular or uneven stamping, crooked stamping, ink smudges, etc. And, it looks like it should be a 5 minute card, which it would have been if it wasn't for a string of silly mistakes.  To top it off, it was meant for Merry Monday, and I missed the deadline.  The good news is that the card finally worked just as I wanted, and I can link it up at Christmas Card Challenges #8 Anything Goes and Addicted to Stamps Holiday.

Have you ever sat down to peruse your favorite blogs, caught sight of something inspiring and had to stop it all to make a card right then and there?  Well, that happened to me twice yesterday.

First time--I was on Michelle's blog, I Card Everyone, spotted this card for Inkspirational Challenges #74, and had to make something of my own.  She totally got me with the paint chips and triangles, and this is what I made:

After that, I happened upon the winners post at The Paper Players and this stunning card by Kylie that was crowned winner last week.  I immediately grabbed the nearest piece of patterned paper sitting on my desk and made this:

It was truly a 5 minute card, and I think I'll make some more some time--it's a great design to showcase/use up patterned paper and build up a nice birthday card stash in a hurry.  I'm entering this card at this week's Seize the Birthday--no toppings.

Seven Cards, Really?

Hello there.  I am popping in with a mid-week post with some cards for a few different challenges and 2 different card drives.

My first two cards are for the Anything Goes challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks this week, and I am also sending them off to MD Anderson Cancer Center for the HYCCT challenge--this one is to create a sweetly romantic card.

I used the Lattice Frame die by WPlus9 and the Blossoming Buds stamps by Paper Smooches.  I love that the flowers are already arranged in this stamp set.  All I have to do is just color them in.

My next card is also for the HYCCT challenge--this one is to use music, birds or hearts.

While I had my Little Bitty Bird and LBB Additions stamps out, I decided to make another card for the same HYCCT challenge, but this time, I made it a one layer card featuring some bird houses.  I am entering this card into the One Layer Simplicity Challenge #11 Home, Sweet Home and CAS on Sunday #45 One Layer Wonder.

As one thing leads to another...since I was now thinking of one layer cards, I made another card for the One Layer Simplicity Challenge #11 Home, Sweet Home.  This card uses a ghost stamping technique that I saw here on the Caring Hearts blog hop.  Of course, my card will also be sent along to the Caring Hearts card drive.   I am also playing along with Festive Friday , Colour Me #45 and  CAS on Sunday #45 One Layer Wonder.

One more card for the  One Layer Simplicity Challenge #11 Home, Sweet Home challenge, CAS on Sunday #45 One Layer Wonder challenge and Caring Hearts, using the Winter Wishes stamps.

And, last for today is a card for this week's ColourQ cQc #266  and Caring Hearts.

Two Cards for Three Challenges

I have my second card for this week's RetroSketches RS#40 because I just loved this sketch.  It seems the perfect way to get some patterned papers out of my stash and onto some cards.  I jumped onto the black chalkboard bandwagon for this card, and used a combination of white ink, white embossing powder, and a white colored pencil.

My next card is for both Dynamic Duos #31 and Less is More LIM#96, which are both red and green color challenges.  Who wouldn't want to receive a cozy sweater like the one on this card?

I am auditioning a new red ink for a match to PTI Pure Poppy.  I love the PTI Pure Poppy ink, but they are not selling the refills at this point, and who knows when that will change.  So, I will be switching to SU Real Red and/or Memento Love Letter, which is what I used on this card.  I think both are pretty good matches.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Get Well
Stamps:  Sentiment Signs
Paper:  Kraft, True Black, Basic Grey Out of Print
Ink:  Colorbox Frost White
Other:  White Embossing Powder, White Prisma Color Pencil, Twinery Twine

Warmest Winter Wishes
Stamps:  WPlus9 Fairisle Backgrounds, Winter Wishes
Paper:  Rustic Cream, Simply Chartreuse Patterns
Ink:  Simply Chartreuse, Memento Love Letter & Grey Flannel
Other:  Sweater Die, Aida Impression Plate

Play Date Cafe #159 and Make it Monday #93, Take 3

This is my second post today.  For my 12 Kits of Christmas post, please click here or scroll down.

My first card today is for this week's Play Date Cafe #159.  I was very inspired by Veronica's inspiration card here.  I used my new PTI sweater die, and the WPlus9 Fairisle stamp, which always makes me think of warm sweaters.  I added that texture to my 'sweater' with the Aida Impression Plate.

I have one more card for this week's Make it Monday #93:  Splitting Die Cuts.   I finally received my November order, and was able to make the first card I thought of when I saw the video, which uses the Circle Border Die and Sentiment Signs.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Warm Wishes
Stamps:  WPlus9 Fairisle Backgrounds, Winter Wishes
Paper:  White, Scarlet Jewel, Scarlet Jewel Pattern Pack
Ink:  Scarlet Jewel, Memento Tuxedo Black
Other:  Sweater Die, Aida Impression Plate

Birthday
Stamps:  Sentiment Signs, Ad Sense, Tag-it's

Cloud 9 and CAS(E) this Sketch

I'm playing along in this month's Cloud9 November Blog Hop.   Here is the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the colors and the overall cozy feeling invoked by the picture.  My main source of inspiration, however was the card by DT Member Christina, who made the most gorgeous card using Fairisle Backgrounds and Winter Wishes.  I used this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #5 for my card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  WPlus9 Fairisle Backgrounds, Winter Wishes
Paper:  PTI White
Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening
