Guest Designer at Addicted to CAS

Today I am honored to be the Guest Designer at Addicted to CAS # because I was chosen as CAS Perfectionist for their challenge #163:  Heat with this card.

The code word for this week's Addicted to CAS Challenge is BUBBLE.

I made this card using several different stamp sets, all featuring speech bubbles.  To keep my card Clean and Simple, I clustered all of my elements in the lower right hand corner, stamping several of them partially off the page.  I also stamped my sentiments directly on my images, further concentrating all the action in that corner.  I added some subtle texture to my card front, adding interest to the white space.

So, I hope you will play along this week, featuring whatever sort of bubble suits your fancy.

Clean & Simple Card Making Days 1 & 2

I have two cards for the first two days of class.  I'm already a bit behind, as there are two more videos I have yet to see.  But, I did watch Debbie Hughes' video about faux layered die cuts and thought it was brilliant.  Here are my two takes on this technique.

This first card is very close to the example Debbie showed.  However, I used washi tape on the back to hold everything together, while Debbie used computer paper.  Here is a peek at the messy back.

My second card is also for the Hero Arts Birthday Challenge in the Rainbow of Color category--using PTI dies and a sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages.

I will be around later, to see what everyone else is up to in this class.

Retro Sketches #83, Simon Says Wednesday, Insider Class, and Just For Fun

When I saw this sketch for this week's Retro Sketches rs#83, I knew I would play along.  I love this sketch as a way to use some hoarded patterned papers.  I have been loving the colors and patterns in my new Lawn Fawn Into the Woods paper, so that is what I used.

I have been a terrible student so far.  I have only watched a few videos from the Insider Card Class, and have finally made one thing.  I took the Bat Mitzvah card that I showed here, and made a fun little envelope inside to hold the check that was our gift.

I used the Seed Packet Die, and cut the top off with the pinking die.  Then I made a little pull tag with a strip of folded paper and a stamp from Movers and Shakers.

My last card for today is just for fun.  I wanted to play a bit more with my new Bubble Talk set.  I was inspired to make this pattern paper border by this card by Maile Belles.

I am entering all three cards into this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge of Anything Goes.

ColourQ 204, CAS(E) this Sketch 42, Dynamic Duos 67 and Simon Wednesday Challenges

I finally have a bit of time to get back to some of my favorite challenges, and I have two cards to share today.  This first card is for this week's ColourQ cQc 204 and CAS(E) this Sketch CTS42.  I broke out one of my new PTI sets--Bubble Talk stamps and dies for this card.  I used a negative cut for the largest speech bubble and raised the smallest speech bubble with dimensionals.  It's hard to see in this picture, but the littlest heart is covered with glossy accents.

My next card is for this week's Dynamic Duos DD #67.  I was very happy that I had the right ink and paper, as my friend Jeanne has been helping me build up my stash of SU colors.  I used that inking technique where you cover the stamp in the lightest color and then roll the edges in the darker color for my flowers on this card.

This week's challenge at SimonSays Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes, and I will be entering both of these cards there as well.
