Summer School

Hello and happy Tuesday.  This is my 2nd post of the day.  If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

I am posting 4 birthday cards today and entering them all at Seize the Birthday #196: No Toppings,  Simon Says Monday Challenge: Happy Birthday, and Shopping Our Stash #426: Keep it Simple Sister.

Although my big dog Sherlock is dreadfully afraid of skateboarders, the little doggie on my card has no such fears.  He is riding his skateboard with a giant bouquet of balloons.  Such fun!

I have been in summer school and learning lots about card making.  Day 2 is all about rainbows, and I used MFT Balloon Bundle for my rainbow card.

Day 3 is all about symmetry, and I used MFT Wine Service and Good Time to Wine for my symmetry card.

Day 4 is all about Ombre.  One of my favorite ways to use ombre on a card is by using paint chips.  I used the same die as in the video and paired it with an ombre of blue.

Three Cards for Friday

Well, it's the start of a long holiday weekend, and I have a few cards to post already.  First up is a one layer card inspired by a couple of challenges:  Stay Crafty with Hero #11: One Layer, Addicted to CAS #187: One Layer, Seize the Birthday #194: Red, White & Blue, A Blog Named Hero: Combine Old and New (the birthday cakes are new and the sentiment is old), and Retro Rubber #138: Anything Goes (Sentiment stamp probably at least 4 years old).

I stamped the sentiment first in red, masked it off, and then stamped all those birthday cakes in Navy blue in the background.

Next up is another one layer card inspired by the following challenges:   Stay Crafty with Hero #11: One Layer, Addicted to CAS #187: One Layer, Seize the Birthday #194: no toppings this time, Inspired By...#131 (I was inspired by all the different colors of the festive party decorations) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Bright and Cheerful.

I stamped and white heat embossed one of the festive birthday frame stamps from the My Monthly Hero birthday kit. After sponging a variety of cheerful colors , I stamped my sentiment in the center.

Last up is a card inspired by the colors at MFT Color Challenge #144, the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #442 (which screamed balloons to me the moment I saw it), Retro Rubber #138: Anything Goes (sentiment stamp probably at least 4 years old), and a new challenge to me, the CAS Mix Up: Stencil Tracing (I used the MFT Balloon Stencil and traced around my sponged balloon images.  I outlined them as I would see them if they were layered together.)

My Crafty Weekend

Happy Sunday, and I am just starting to dig through the mess on my desk, from having been so crafty.

First up is a card using some MFT bears to play along with the MFT Color Challenge #143 and MFT Sketch Challenge #493.  My friends Kim and Tracey and I have decided to try to take these MFT bears on some adventures together, so I will be excited to see what they post also.  I am also linking this card up at Simon Says Monday Challenge: It's a Man Thing.

Next up is a challenge inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #439 and the colors at Just Add Ink #509 (can you see the yellow sprinkles in the background?).  I am also entering this at Seize the Birthday #192: All About Summer (because...Popsicles!!)

This next card is for my mom, who loves pandas, tap dancing and Broadway musicals.  I know that she will love this chorus line of dancing pandas, inspired by the challenge at Less is More #421: Borders.

This next card will be my final and third entry at Poppystamps #69: Clean and Simple challenge, my go to style of card making.  I chose to feature these adorable Whittle Mice in some bright and summery colors.  I am also entering this card at Just Us Girls #540: Frame It, CAS on Friday #182: Sunshine, Inkspirational #215: Yellow Paint and  Seize the Birthday #192: All About Summer.

Another birthday card for my stash, featuring the colors from Color Throwdown #597.

How about a bunch of cute dogs all squeezing together for the sake of friendship?  I am entering this card at Inky Paws #125, Cupcake Inspirations #495: Friendship, and Just Us Girls #540: Frame It.

Last but not least, a card inspired by the challenge at Stay Crafty with Hero #10: Build a Scene,  Seize the Birthday #192: All About Summer (we always go to the fair in the summer), and SOSS #162: T is for Technique (ink blending).
