World Card Making Day

Hello and happy day after World Card Making Day.  I think this may be the first time in a while that I actually got to make some cards on the actual date of this very important holiday.  Although, around here with me, every day is kind of like my own personal World Card Making Day.

My first card is inspired by the challenge at Less is More #429: One Layer Cheers, and I was reminded about this fabulous Tim Holtz Wine Blueprint set by Guest Designer Amy's card here.  The stamps are pretty detailed, so I did not need to do much with this card, other than stamp a sentiment from PTI Uncorked and do a bit of coloring.  I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #175: One Layer.  I skipped the optional twist of coffee, because.... WINE!!

Next up is a card inspired by Color Hues #3: Gold and Cream.  My original idea was totally different, but when I was looking for something else, I came across this deer cut from gold shimmer paper, and decided it would be perfect for this challenge.  I had my deer leap over a cityscape by Ellen Hutson, and added a sentiment from PTI that I embossed in gold.  I am also entering this card at Inkspiration #223: Angle It because of the trajectory of the deer's angled leap.

The white die cut on this next card was what I was looking for when I found the gold leaping deer.  I had an idea to pair 'think' and 'pink' to participate in this months Poppy Challenge: Think Pink.  I sponged Distress Oxide in Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar (my pink) and paired it with this sentiment (my think).  Featured on this card is the Poppystamps Country Houses die.

This next card is the simplest card of the day, but probably took the longest to make, as I had to start and restart, and change my mind, etc.  Sometimes the simplest cards are like that.  But, finally I found a version that I liked and made one without any mistakes.  My inspiration for this card was the challenge at ITP Melissa's Fab Friday to create a Joy project.  I pulled out PTI Winter Fox, intending to use that cute fox, and then went in a totally different direction, and just used some of the sentiment stamps.

Last up for today is this holiday card, inspired by the bird holiday card at Ink to Paper.  I took my inspiration from:  the bird, the cover die, the ink blending, the colors and the holiday scene.  I used ITP Feathered Friends Mini die, the PTI Winter Floral cover plate and a sentiment from PTI Snowflake Flurries.  I am also entering this card at CAS Christmas October Challenge: Christmas Bird.

I am also entering all of these cards at Simon Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes and WWC291: Anything Goes.

That's it for me today.  Stay safe and keep crafting.

Thanks for Visiting

  3. First card... I knew we were similar, wine over coffee every time! :D I too have these TH stamps, but in small form. Yours works perfectly with the Cheers sentiment. YOur cram and gold card is delightfully CAS! Such a pretty die cut to layer over your blended pink background. I can totally understand how your PTI sentiment card took more work than it should have ;) but I think the result is worth it. (I hope you think so!) Finally, such a pretty bird and branches card. Thanks for joining us at Color Hues and Inkspirational!

  5. Knew you would make some cards! And I love them. I do like the sketchy look of the wine bottle stamp-seen a few people use this and it has always attached me. And it made me laugh when you said the last simplistic took the longest and how true that always is-but you got their in the end! All super cards. I got one done!! Oh and that list of challenges you were going to send-just when you have chance-off for a walk now xx
