Some Cards I Made This Week

I had a fun and crafty week....I must admit to feeling more hopeful these days.  First up is a card inspired by this card by my friend Lindsey.  The idea came to me in the middle of the night as something I could do for the MFT Birthday Project Challenge: Balloons.  The next morning, I woke up and made my card.

I created a mask out of scrap computer paper and the MFT Skyline die, and used the MFT Big Balloon stencil with distress oxide ink blending.  After I sponged everything above the skyline, I removed the skyline mask and did a really faint bit of inking at the bottom of the balloon, just to make sure that the shape was recognizable as a balloon.  I am also entering this card at WWC297 and Seize the Birthday #203 with no topping.

Next up is this card I made with one of my recent Mama Elephant purchases, Oh Penguin Tree.  I just love how cute these penguins are, and when I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #398, I knew it would be the perfect stamp set to use.  I used colors from this week's Color Throwdown #619 and am also entering this card at The Daily Marker 11 Day Coloring Challenge.

I made this thank you card using rustic cream cardstock, a large Thank you die from Poppystamps and a bunch of woodland critters cut from fall colors of cardstock and various Whittle critters.  I am entering this card at the Poppystamps Challenge #74: Colors of Autumn, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Thanks, The Card Concept #143 (my style is clean and layered and I was inspired by the thank theme as well as the fall colors in the inspiration photo), and Fusion: Thankful.

I used the dies from the MFT Fox & Friends kit to create this card, which uses the sketch  from the MFT Sketch Challenge #515.  I die cut everything out of white cardstock and used ink blending to color all the pieces.

Last up is a trio of cards I made inspired by a sentiment I found in an older PTI stamp set (Garden Grace)--and it seemed to capture the hopeful mood I have been in the last few days.

I am entering both of these cards at The Flower Challenge #50: Use a Sentiment.

And, my final card with that sentiment I loved so much.  This one uses a die cut from In the Woods, and I masked off the edges and blended various shades of green distress inks.

Everything Will Be Okay and Birthday Wishes

I've got a quick post with two cards I made this week.  First up is a card inspired by this beauty over at Muse #201 by Valentyna.

Valentyna's Inspiration Card

I was inspired by the pink flowers and greenery and the way the flowers hug the corner and sort of embrace the sentiment.

My second card is very similar to the inspiration card at this week's Make it Monday #274, where we are encouraged to die cut our patterned paper.  I dug deep into my stash of PTI patterned papers and found some Guidelines papers to use for this card.

I am also linking this card up at Less is More #313 where the challenge is balloons, and Addicted to CAS #103:  Wish.

PTI January 2017 Blog Hop...Love

I am happy to be playing along with the PTI January Blog Hop today.  I was inspired by the cookie in the middle, as it looked just like one of my favorite Fillable Frames die.

I used Garden Grace flowers and leaves and a die cut word love to decorate a black fillable frame die cut.  I added a few dots with a white gel pen.  It looked a little plain on top of a plain black card base, so I added more Garden Grace flowers.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #226: Anything Goes and Paper Players #328:  Clean and Simple Flowers.

I'm keeping it short today as there is so much to see on the hop.

Time Out #62...Reminder...REST

Hello.  There is still time to play along in the current challenge at Time Out.  This week is a Home Sweet Home challenge, and we have this photo to inspire you.

I was inspired by the framed alphabet blocks on the left side of the photo.  It reminded me of some subway sentiment stamps I have, so I pulled out PTI Sentiment Signs and made a get well card.

The flowers decorating this card are a nod to the floral pillow in the photo.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Stephanie.

ColourQ #306

Hello and happy Tuesday.  It's time for another challenge at ColourQ.  Take a look at this gorgeous top.  Can you believe it is pamajas?  I would wear this out to dinner.

I love the colors this week.  I used Hero Arts Passion Flower and Grape Juice and WPlus9 Lake House.  You can use whatever colors you have that match the best.  I used PTI Garden Grace for my flowers and leaves and PTI Graceful Greetings for my sentiment.  I started by stamping the largest grouping of flowers and leaves, and then just filled in with some of the smaller images until I was happy with the way everything looked.  This is a one layer card because I completely forgot I have the dies for these stamps.

Please visit the ColourQ blog for more inspiration from the other designers.  I hope you will play along this week.

Saturday Update

Hello and happy Saturday.  My first card is a shaker baby card for Paper Smooches Anything Goes and CAS(E) This Sketch #105.  I'm also playing along at Simon Says Monday Old (Paper Smooches A Little Lovin) and New (Silver Micro Beads) and Simon Says Wednesday New.   I paper pieced the elephants and used the die from PTI Sending You to create my window.

This is my second time this month playing at Stamplorations--this time in their January Stamps and Inks challenge.  I used Tree Silhouettes and CASED this beautiful card by Sharron.  I tried to copy Sharron's water coloring, and I think I still need a bit more practice.

One more entry at Make it Monday #196:  Colorful Card Corners.  I just could not resist making this card again, this time in purple.

I did something a little different this time--I have seen stamping that continues on to the back side of the card, and decided to try that also.  I am in love with the stamp Kim bought for me to use on the backs of my cards.

Last up is a get well card I made using the colors at this week's ColourQ cQc #274.  I used the Leaf Pattern Cover Up die by Lil Inker--cut it 4 times in 4 different colors and then pieced the leaves back in.  Not sure I'd do that again...

That's it for me today.
