ColourQ #325....Sending Hugs

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

Happy Tuesday and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.   Check out this fun pillow.  It wouldn't match the colors in my house, but I would still like to own that pillow and look at it every day.

The graphic pattern of the pillow put me in the mood to think about textile patterns, and so I pulled out a PTI set from a couple of years ago called Irresistibly Ikat.

After stamping an entire background, I added texture with the Burlap Impression Plate and then die cut the Hugs word.  I stacked a couple of Hugs die cut in white, and then inlaid them back into the stamped panel.  A couple of coordinating sentiments from the Big Hugs stamp set--stamped and fussy cut out, and this card was done.

Here is a better look at the dimension in the sentiment.

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team. I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

Happy Birthday and Well Wishes

Hello and happy Saturday everyone.  My weekend has started with some crafty time, and I was able to finish two cards I started yesterday.  I was playing around with Limeade Ice and Hawaiian Shores and ended up making two cards.

I used a NBUS stamp set I won from Clearly Whimsy Stamps--It's called Tremendous Triangles and it is chock full of fantastic graphic images.  I can tell I am going to have a lot of fun playing with these stamps.  I sliced my sentiment in two, after being inspired by this week's Papertrey Ink's Design Team Tips.

I am entering this card at Showcase your Style #6--so excited to play this challenge for the first time as well as CAS(E) this Sketch #106.

Darnell and CASology are partnered this week to challenge us to use our NBUS.  Grab something new and create a Clean and Simple card to play along.

I was not done with those colors or the sketch, so I made another card for Showcase your Style #6 and CAS(E) this Sketch #106.  No NBUS in this card below--all the supplies on this card have seen lots of love before.

I am also linking both of these cards at Simon Says Wednesday It's a Guy Thing.

Dynamic Duos #71 and Moxie Fab Gold

I set out this morning to make a card for this week's Dynamic Duos DD#71:  Crumb Cake and Basic Black with a Dessert Option of Wet Embossing.  I assume that wet embossing is the same as heat embossing--hope so because that is what I did.

I used Brilliance Lightning Black on it's own for the chevron pieces, and heat embossed with clear for the squares.  I used my brand new PTI Stitching Impression Plate for my raised panel.

The Lightning Black has a whole lot of gold shimmer in it.  So much so that I am entering this card into the All That Glitters is Gold Challenge in the Moxie Fab World challenge.  Here is a close up:

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Irresistibly Ikat
Paper:  Kraft
Ink:  Brilliance Lightning Black, Versafine Onyx Black
Dies:  Angled Labels, Stitching IP
Other:  Black & Kraft Twine

Ombre All Day Long

This morning I watched the video for Make it Monday #120:  Overlapping Ombre.  It took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to do at first.  But once I made my first card, I kept thinking of more ways to use this technique.  I finally had to stop because certain people needed to be picked up from school and fed, but I hope to be back to it before this challenge is over.

Irresistibly Ikat with Spring Moss, SU Pear Pizzazz, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado

Irresistibly Ikat with Memento Angel Pink, Hibiscus Burst, Versacolor Opera Pink

Lovely Layers with Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp and Show The Button Challenge.

Dynamic Duos #53

I have a quick card for this week's Dynamic Duos #53:  Pacific Point and Basic Black.  I am on a diet, so did not use the Dessert Option.  The blue in my photo looks like a royal blue, but is actually SU Pacific Point ink--the real deal, part of my recent SU haul.  I was inspired by this card by Ashley Cannon Newell.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Irrestibly Ikat
Paper:  White
Ink:  SU Pacific Point, Versafine Onyx Black
Other:  Aida Impression Plate

Make it Monday #107, Retro Sketches #54 & Dynamic Duos #43

I have a card for this week's Retro Sketches rs#54, using the colors from this week's Dynamic Duos DD#43.   And, of course, its got green, so I will submit to this week's Simon Says Stamp Bit O Green challenge.

I am really loving my Irresistibly Ikat stamps.   I used the Aida impression plate on my stamped panel for this card, and love the look of those two together.

This week's Make it Monday #107 has Nicole showing us how to work with clear card stock, as well as tips for copic coloring.  My card with clear card stock proved to be difficult to photograph, so please ignore the reflection of the camera.  I chose to go with a stamped panel on the left side of the card, and stamped my sentiment on the inside.  It is based on something I saw a long time ago on Damask Love, and I don't have the actual post saved.  I pulled out Asian Gardens for this card.  I use the sentiments in that set all the time, but I rarely pull it out for the images.  I embossed the vase in black, cut it out, and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.  I used White Ranger Enamel Accents for the flower centers.

Here is a view of the inside.

After I made this card, I realized that any message I wrote would need to be on the back...

I wanted to try out some Copic coloring, while the video was fresh in my mind, so I made one more card.

Stamps:  Irisisibly Ikat
Paper:  White, Simply Chartreuse

Happy Birthday
Stamps:  Asian Fusion, Beautiful Butterflies, Boutique Accessories
Paper:  White, Clear, Kraft
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, SU Real Red, Versamark
Other:  Black Embossing Powder, White Ranger Enamel Accents

Have a Wonderful Day

Did I Really Make 6 Cards Today?

I had a few uninterrupted hours this morning and nothing to do but play with my stamps.   Bits and pieces of time later in the day, and before I knew it, I had made 6  cards.  I figured I'd better stop for the day and get everything posted, so here I am.

These are the final hours of this week's Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge, so I am entering all of these cards.

First up is my card for this week's Muse Challenge #7, where Laurie Willison is our Muse.  Isn't her card just gorgeous?

I am linking this next card up for three different challenges--The Twinery #TT002 to use chevron and green, Hero Arts to make a 'hello' card, and The Washi Tape Challenge in the Moxie Fab world.  I took some blue and green striped and polka dotted washi tape and adhered it in stripes to a piece of white cardstock.  Then, I cut different sized chevrons and adhered them to my card base.  Then, I stamped a Hero Arts 'hello' sentiment twice.

My next card is for this week's ColourQ cQc #179 as well as the Emphasize the Negative Challenge in the Moxie Fab world.

The next three cards are just for fun--things I wanted to try.

I wanted to try gold embossing on patterned paper, like Maile Belles did here.  And, I wanted to play with my Aloha set, since it has been a long time since that set has seen ink.

And, I can't seem to stop playing with my Irresistibly Ikat set.  I was inspired by this card by Debbie Olson--that gal is magic with colors.  I will be linking this one up to CAS-ual Fridays CFC92:  Wallpaper.

And, this last card is just me messing around.

I am too tired to write all my supplies, but please do let me know if you have any questions.
