CASology Week #402...Fluffy

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is FLUFFY.

I remembered I had these really cute and fluffy looking bird stamps from PTI, and I thought they would make a cute baby card.  I never know when I might need a baby card, and this bright yellow is great to have on hand, as it would work for any flavor of baby.

While I had my stamps out, I created another baby card using a different design and color scheme.  That's 2 baby cards for the stash.

Now it's your turn.  How does FLUFFY inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer Ishani, and our design team.

Brushed Birds Thank You

Popping in quickly to share a card I made for this week's PTI Transformation Tuesday challenge.  I decided to lighten up the overall color scheme of this card I recently made with Brushed Birds.

Original Card

I used darker yellows for the birds, but a white card base in my transformed card.  I also opted for stamped leaves rather than die cut leaves.

Transformed Card

I must admit to liking them both.  Ah, those Brushed Birds...

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I am back from Montana, where I spent several days with my 2 daughters and my sister-in-law, enjoying nature and relaxing.  I missed my stamps, and went on a crafty tear when I got home.

First up is this colorful card using PTI Salt Air Fauna stamps.  I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #280 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Fun in the Sun.

Another card using the same stamps and dies, as well as the matching Salt Air Fauna stamps.  I am entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Summer Fun, and The Male Room #89:  Fish/Fishing.

I am entering this next card at PTI Make it Monday #328: Creating Shadow Backgrounds.  I used What the Doodle Butterfly stamps and dies for my images.  I had forgotten how pretty the detailing is on these stamps.  I am also entering this card at Just Add Ink #417: Just Add "T".  My "T" is "thank you".

I created a watercolor background using PTI reinkers on this card and am entering it at Just Us Girls #449: Watercolor Background.  I used that watercolor background as the base behind this Poppystamps Happy Birthday Background die, and am entering this card at Poppystamps Challenge #46: Birthday Party.  There are quite a few birthday challenges this week, and I am entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #300, Inkspirational #165, and Seize the Birthday without toppings.

Back to the ocean for my next card, which was inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches #280 and the baby challenge at Addicted to CAS #140.

My next card is an encouragement card featuring the emboss resist technique, and I am entering it at CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #203.  All of my coloring on this card was done by sponging Distress Inks.

Are you tired yet?  Last card is inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #345 and the colors at Color Throwdown #501.

That's it for me today.

Thanks for Visiting

My Crafty Week

I'm posting on a Saturday this week because I had such a crafty week.

Here is one of the highlights of my week--my CASology teammate, Jacquie, came over on Wednesday for a little crafty fun.  Of course, Sherlock wanted in on everything.

Jacquie brought some of her stash over, and I was eager to play with some of her stuff.  I loved these funny looking fish from Avery Elle.  I made that watery background using Distress Oxide inks that I had to buy after playing with them at Tracey's house.  I am entering this card at Freshly Made Sketches #335 and CAS on Friday #132 to Use a Cute Stamp.

Jacquie brought a Spellbinders die of birds on a wire, and I was inspired by CAS(E) This Sketch #270.

I was inspired by the challenge at Memory Box #37 to pull out my Darla Butterfly die and make this sympathy card.  I cut the butterfly once out of orange card stock and then again out of vellum, and used an impression plate to give all over texture to my card front.

I pulled out some patterned paper and my Poppystamps Stitched Elephant die for my next card, which is inspired by the Pattern Paper Please challenge at Poppystamps #44.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday.

Next up is a card for this week's sketch at Less is More #370.  I finally had a chance to use my new PTI Brushed Birds set, after seeing what gorgeous designs Kim and Tracey made with those stamps.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday challenge Animal Magic.

Last up is the card I made for this week's Make it Monday #321: Ink Blending on Colored Cardstock.

I have tried experimenting with flat lay photography this week.  What do you think?  I am still trying to figure out how to better stage my photos and how to avoid shadows.  If you have any tips, please let me know.
