Happy Friday

Hello and happy Friday.  I am popping in with a quick post to share some cards I've made this week.  First up is a card I made for the challenge at Poppystamps #69: Clean and Simple using the colors from Color Throwdown #597.  I used the Poppystamps Happy Birthday cover plate, one of my old favorites, and kept the card CAS by only adding pops of color for the 'happy birthday' at the bottom.

My next card is inspired by the challenge at The Flower Challenge #45 to use navy and one other color.  I used navy card stock with white embossing, and my other color is PTI Berry Sorbet.

I have a tip for stamping a curved sentiment...I put my cardstock in my MISTI, and used a washable marker to draw the shape of the curve on the cover of the MISTI.  Then, I opened the cover and stuck the stamp to the inside cover along the line I wrote.  I tested it out before stamping on my actual card.

I saw an interesting tutorial on this week's Splitcoast Stamper newsletter on how to make a card inspired by quilting.  I have a friend who quilts, and I thought it would be a great birthday card for her.  I used papers from a Simple Stories pad.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #192 without toppings.  It was so easy and I like how it came out.  I may make a few more, using other patterned paper scraps.  The tutorial showed using a leaf die cut for the candle flame.  I didn't have an appropriate leaf die, so I used a leaf stamp that I inked in light yellow and then rolled a little in a darker yellow.

There is a fabulous challenge over at Shopping Stash #422: UnFinished Objects that had me pulling out an almost complete card to finish.  Actually, 2 of them that were very similar.  I will also enter at Cupcake Inspirations #422: Friendship.

Last of all, a very CAS card for Addicted to Stamps and More #393:  Holiday, using some knitting themed stamps I borrowed from Tracey.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I had a crafty weekend, and now I can post what I have made.

First up is a Mother's Day card using PTI Grans Garden that was inspired by the Project Reach Out Challenge at Ink to Paper, the photo at Just us Girls #533, the sketch at Just Add Ink #502.

This next card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #369 (especially Donna's and Michele's fun skateboard cards), AAA Birthday #12: Dots and/or Stripes (dots on the dog's hat, stripes on the bird's party favor), Color Throwdown #590, and Stay Crafty with Hero #6: Out of the Box (using the sentiment as a skateboard for my dog).

Here's a fun one, using a brand new to me stamp from Picket Fence called Leave as a Friend.  I am entering this card at AAA Cards #164: One image + optional twist inspired by TV.  My card is inspired by Mr. Rogers Neighborhood (the TV show which I grew up on) and this card represents the Neighborhood of Make Believe.  Difficult to see in this photo, but I used an impression plate to texture the card behind the neighborhood with sun rays.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #386: Anything Goes.

I am entering my next card at the Paper Smooches Happy Things challenge, using the sketch at The Paper Players #448.  I created a happy little scene using Paper Smooches Promenade stamps, and I am depicting where I will finally meet a friend for ice cream or coffee, once the quarantine is lifted.  These stamps are at least 5 years old, so I am entering this card at Retro Rubber #133:  Anything Goes.

Finally, a Hoppy Birthday card using some Pond Frog dies from Poppystamps.  I am entering this card at Poppystamps Challenge #67: Puddle Jumping, Perfectly CAS #8: Masking. and CAS Colours & Sketches #367.

That's it for me today.

Stay Safe

CASology Week #354...Fog

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is FOG.

I immediately thought of all that lovely cool fog in San Francisco, and decided to see if I could replicate that on a card.  I sponged some grey clouds on a piece of card stock, added a die cut bridge (Golden Gate Bridge, in my mind) and then covered the panel with vellum to soften the look and add to the overall foggy scene.

Now it's your turn.  How does FOG inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer  and the CASology design team.  Our sponsor this week is STAMPlorations.

Thanks for Visiting

My Crafty Weekend

Hello friends.  I had a fun and crafty weekend, and now I am sharing what I created.  First up is my final entry into the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #60: Create a Scene.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #358: Holiday, Simon Says Monday Challenge: Stamp it, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Bling it On.

Next up is Yappy Birthday!  I am entering this card at AAA Birthday #5: Use a Stencil, Shopping Our Stash #404: Dog Days of Summer, and Simon Says Monday Challenge: Stamp it.

I used 3 different dies for my next card, which I am entering at Poppystamps Challenge #60: Anything Goes.  Aren't those monkeys adorable?  My design was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #339, and I am also entering this card at Just Us Girls #505: Stacking Die Cuts

Less is More #404 wants us to be inspired by Typography.  When I looked it up to see what it was, I realized that I have many stamps featuring that element, and it was hard to decide with to use.  This card is also inspired by the challenge at The Paper Players #459: Marvelous Metalics (my ink is gold).

Last of all is another card inspired by the challenge at Less is More #404: Typography and also The Male Room #119: Autumn.
