CASology Week #403...Botanical

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is BOTANICAL.   There are so many different ways to go with this cue word.  I am in need of replenishing my stash of sympathy card (unfortunately), and I always think a simple botanical image or texture works well for this kind of card.

I pulled out some Botanical stamps from Paper Smooches (still miss that sweet company) and got to work.

While I had my supplies out and creative sympathy thoughts going, I made a few more cards.  It's always good to be prepared with sympathy cards, as I typically don't feel like making them right when I need them.

Now it's your turn.  How does BOTANICAL inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer Elizabeth, and our design team.

Time Out #212...Happy Mother's Day

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by the word:

SPRING

I decided to use these beautiful spring sunflowers from Hero Arts, in honor of Ukraine and also Mother's Day.  These flowers are so easy to color, because all that is required is ink blending with a stencil.

Where will this word take you?  How are you inspired by SPRING?

I am also entering this card at Stay Crafty with a Blog Named Hero April Challenge: Blend it Up.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, AsaJ, and the Time Out Design Team.  Poppystamps is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Father's Day in New York City

Hello and yes, I am still around!  This is the first card I have posted for fun in way too long.  Things have been hectic, and my craft room has not seen much action aside from DT commitments.  But, this weekend, I made a card!

I was inspired by the challenge at AAA Cards #212: Along the edge + Your Country to make this Father's Day card.  Of course, the feature is New York City--my dad, my father in law, and my husband (+ me too) are all originally from New York.  Now that I am thinking about it, I should probably make a few of these, each a little different as a way to jump start my Father's Day crafting.  This card could go to any father or grandfather in my family.  Oh, maybe I'll do some for Mother's Day too.  That is coming up even sooner.

I am also entering this card at Stay Crafty with a Blog Named Hero: April, which asks us to use ink blending. My stamps and dies are City HeroScape.

Time Out #211...Happy Father's Day

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by this beautiful photo.

Here is a larger picture of the inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the mountains and the evergreens.  As I was stamping and die cutting, I realized that this card would be perfect as a Father's Day card, so that is what I created.

Where will this photo take you?

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Lisa Elton, and the Time Out Design Team.  Poppystamps is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

CASology Week #402...Fluffy

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is FLUFFY.

I remembered I had these really cute and fluffy looking bird stamps from PTI, and I thought they would make a cute baby card.  I never know when I might need a baby card, and this bright yellow is great to have on hand, as it would work for any flavor of baby.

While I had my stamps out, I created another baby card using a different design and color scheme.  That's 2 baby cards for the stash.

Now it's your turn.  How does FLUFFY inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Time Out #210...Happiness is a Warm Puppy

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by this quote:

"Happiness is a Warm Puppy"

--Charles Schultz

I chose an image with puppies and a quote about happiness for my card this week.  I used Woof Pack stamps by our sponsor Newton's Nook for my card.  I just love this stamp, which has so many adorable pups all squeezed together.  I chose to highlight just one pup in particular, and colored the rest of the pack with various tones of grey.

Where will this quote take you?  You do not have to stick with dogs....pick anything that makes you happy.  We'd love to see it on a card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Asa, and the Time Out Design Team.  Newton's Nook is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Time Out #209...Hello

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by the word:

CUTE

Our sponsor this week is Lawn Fawn, and I didn't have to look too long through my stash to find something cute from Lawn Fawn for my card.  In fact, I had a hard time narrowing my choices and making a decision about what to use.  I decided to make a cute 'Hello' card using Lawn Fawn  Car Critters and Dandy Day stamps.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Sue Symens,  and the Time Out Design Team.  Lawn Fawn is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Cards for Ukraine

I am joining in with fellow crafters in creating some cards inspired by the colors of the Ukrainian flag and the courage of the Ukrainian people.

I am entering all three of these cards at Color Hues #36.

First up is this card using one of my favorite new Hero Arts dies.

I am entering this card at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero: Anything Goes and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Die Cut

I was inspired by my friend Lindsey's card when planning this next card.  Sunflowers are the national flower of Ukraine and are now a global symbol of solidarity.

I am linking this card up at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Die Cut.

This was actually the first card I made in this series, again being inspired by the colors of the Ukrainian Flag and their national flower.  The stamp is a very old PTI called Botanical Blocks.  I am entering this card at PTI What Do I Do with This challenge to use embossing powder.
