A Lighthouse and Some Birch Trees

I am still enjoying my Guiding Lights stamps.  Today I used that set to make a masculine birthday card.  I stamped the lighthouse and then blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink under and around it. I paired it up with a sentiment from WMS Ocean Bound to create a one layer masculine birthday card.

I am entering this card at Less is More #232 where the challenge is one layer masculine, Addicted to CAS #67 where the code word is Patriotic, Seize the Birthday where the toppings option is red, white and blue, and Marker Pop #72 Anything Goes (I used Distress ink from their store).

My next two cards were inspired by this beautiful card by Carol that I found on the Winnie & Walter website when I went to look for inspiration for a new stamp I recently bought called Into the Woods. I made two different versions of a similar card.

For my first card, I stamped in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black and embossed in clear and then added a die cut word from PTI Wet Paint.

I am entering this card at Time Out #35 'Nature with the Optional Twist of Animals', CAS-ual Fridays #141 Embossing, and Just Add Ink #270.

I wanted to include animals in my next version, so I used a family of die cut deer silhouettes.

I am entering this card at Time Out #35 'Nature with the Optional Twist of Animals', Simply Create Too #89 Get Ahead for Christmas, and Simon Says Wednesday Furry Friends (I am pretty sure that deer are furry).

That's it for me today.

Congratulations, Happy Holidays and Hello

Happy Thursday.  One more day till the weekend.  Do you have anything exciting planned?  My husband is taking my youngest daughter to Denver for a lacrosse tournament and my older daughter will be at work.  So, I guess Sherlock and I will be playing in my craft room a lot this weekend.

I was dying to ink up my new Bloomers set, and pulled out a few WPlus9 and Hero Arts inks and stamped an entire front panel.  I impressed it with the Burlap IP, cut it on the diagonal and then used one piece to make this card.  Aren't those little black ziggy zaggy bits fun?  They are from WPlus9 Doodle Buds.

I wanted to make a card that was 100% stamping, to play along with Virginia's View #16: 100% Stamping Challenge and Happy Little Stampers CAS Stamping Challenge.   I am also entering this card at CAS on Sunday #62: Embossing, and Just Us Girls #300 where they are celebrating their 300th challenge with the word 'congratulations'.

The challenge at Poppy Stamps #10 is A Day in the Park.  I really wanted to play along, especially since they picked this card from their last challenge as a winner.  But, what to do because I do not have anything from Poppy Stamps that one would find at a park....or do I?  I had this idea while I was spinning...Think of a park in the winter.  Deep dark green from evergreen trees, white snow falling all around and a couple of birds singing.  Yes, that is my winter wonderland park that I invite you to explore.

I am also linking this card up at Simply Create Too #89: Get ahead for Christmas, and Paper Players #252: The Great Outdoors.

My last card is inspired by both the colors at ColourQ #298 and the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #194.

CASology Week 154: Repeat

Hello and happy Tuesday.  It's time for a new cue word at CASology.  This week, our cue word is REPEAT.  I used an image from PTI Round Repeats in some fun ink colors by WPlus9.  I repeatedly stamped the same image, varying only the color and placement of the stamp.  After stamping the sentiment, I impressed the front panel with the Picnic Plaid Impression Plate and then cut out the section with the sentiment so I could pop it up with foam tape.

I am also linking this card up at Make it Monday #217: Making Your Own Custom Borders.

So, how about you?  How are you inspired by REPEAT?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

New Home and an Inspirational Dog

Hi there.  Just a really quick post today--I have a card inspired by both the photo and the color scheme at ColourQ #297.

I am also linking this card up at Happy Little Stampers CAS Stamping Challenge and Simon Says Wednesday Going Dotty.

I used a brand new to me Serendipity stamp for this next card.  This image just makes me smile.  I followed the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #130.

Happy 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July to all my American friends.  I am posting some cards I have made over the last few days.  First up is a birthday card in red, white and blue--in honor of Independence day and also to play along at Seize the Birthday where their topping option this week is red, white and blue.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #193 and am also playing along at Happy Little Stampers CAS where the challenge is stamping.

I bought a sheet of the cutest patterned paper at a LSS yesterday and immediately cut into it to make a really simple birthday card.  I am linking it up at Curtain Call Celebration and Addicted to Stamps and More #151 Anything Goes.

I used some sheets from a new paper pad by Doodlebug Sunkissed which has some really fun summery patterns to make a card for WPlus9 Throwback Thursday #5.  I pulled out some of their older dies, Quilt Cuts, and made a fun pattern.  I used another WPlus9 die for my thank you sentiment.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Monday Summer.

Off in search of fireworks.

Exciting News and Rainbows

Hello friends.  I have some very exciting news today--I am going to be on the design team of Tag You're It!   I love tags and challenges both, so I am really looking forward to playing along on this team.  Please check out the official announcement over on the Tag You're It blog.

I've been in a rainbow mood lately--I am not normally very politically vocal, but I must say that I am very happy about the Supreme Court ruling guaranteeing the Constitutional right to same-sex marriage.  This is something I have believed was right for a long time, for my friends, my children's friends, my friends children, my children's coaches and teachers--this touches the lives of so many people I care about.  So, what did I do--I made some cards.

I used the PTI Hanging Star die and colored all the stars using Copic markers, aiming for an ombre effect going from light to dark.  I was inspired by Laura's Make it Monday #216:  Adding Color to Cover Plates.  When I was deciding which die to use, I noticed this pretty card by Polly already in the gallery, and her card gave me the idea to use this particular die.  I used foam tape to adhere all the stars and then coated everything with WOS.  Before attaching the die cut stars, I stamped my sentiment and embossed the card front with the Burlap Impression Plate.

I am also entering this card at Curtain Call Celebrate and MarkerPop #72 Anything Goes.

I bought a set of those Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens that everyone seems to be talking about and they came all the way from Japan in only a couple of weeks.  I stamped and masked a garden scene using WPlus9 Doodle Buds, and then used those pens to color a rainbow garden on my next card.

I still need to practice a lot more, but I was pleased with this as a first attempt.  I used Glossy Accents to make some fake condensation drops, and they ended up bleaching the color out and looking more like water spots.  Good to know for next time, right?  I am entering this card at Addicted to Stamps #151: Anything Goes.
