My Crafty Week--Mother's Day Edition

Hello, Hello, and Happy Mother's Day.  I've got lots to share today.

First up, how about a Mother's Day card?  This one is in my stash, waiting for next year.  However, if my husband or daughter go 'card shopping' for me later today in my craft room, I might have the pleasure of receiving it later today.  Playing along at Addicted to CAS #136: Mom and Retro Rubber #86: Beautiful Flowers.  I used Tulip Time stamps, which are 2 years old.

PTI Make it Monday #221 had us was Masking Sentiments, and I pulled out some old stamps, because it was a Throwback Challenge.  I used a stamp from Label Basics to highlight my sentiment, then masked it off while I created a stamped background using flowers from Super Succulents.

I used the color challenge at Just Add Ink #408 to put together this sweet card with some die cuts I made when I was visiting with Tracey last month.

Anita's Inspiration Card

I loved the simplicity of Anita's festive birthday card at MUSE #265 and took inspiration from her color choices, the streamers, birthday theme, and the subtle diagonal stripe pattern on her card base.  Hard to tell in my photo, but I embossed my card base with an impression plate with diagonal lines.  I am also entering this card as Seize the Birthday, no toppings.

I loved the sketch at CAS-ual Friday's #199, and used their Mon Ami stamps for my card.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #291: Anything Goes.

It was a big week for sketch challenges for me.  The challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #336 had me reaching into my Canadian stash for some more stamped images from my trip.

And, my last card is a very special card to me.  I was inspired to play along at Layton's Legacy Card Drive, and you can read all about this sweet little baby boy who is honored with this card drive.  We had this mood board to work from, and I was inspired by the woodland creatures in the lower right.

I used the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches #271 for this card.

Well, that's it for my crafty update.  I'll leave you with a picture of the Mother's day card I got from my fur baby.....

PTI March 2018 Blog Hop

I'm playing along with the March, 2018 PTI Blog Hop Today.  We have this beautiful photo to inspire us.

I was inspired by the pink and yellow flowers, mostly tulips.  I pulled out Tulip Time--I had completely forgotten about these stamps, and am so glad that I found these stamps again.

I am also entering this card at The Flower Challenge #18: Anything Goes.

My Crafty Week

I am popping in to post a few cards I have been working on this week, as 2 of the challenges are about to end.

This first card is inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #243.  I used my newest flower stamp by PTI--Forget Me Not.  I am also entering this at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.

My next card uses the technique in Make it Monday #254 Stenciling with Texture paste.  I followed the sketch at Paper Players #301 and am also entering it at Less is More where the challenge is to use a stencil.

My next card is inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #179.

And, finally, I am celebrating the 4th birthday of Addicted to Stamps and More.  I was inspired by the challenge photo.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday, without toppings this week.

This card was pretty fun to make--I started by stamping the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's Quinn's Alphabet stamps.  Then I doodled and colored with Copics, adding a couple of balloons and gifts from a Clearly Besotted birthday set.  I outlined everything in a grey Copic to make the images look a little 3D.

Time Out #58...Reminder...Hello

Hello!  There is still time to play along in our challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge is a Home Sweet Home challenge, and we have this photo to inspire you.

This week, I took my inspiration from the brick wall in the photo as well as the colorful window set into it.  I embossed my kraft card front with a brick embossing folder that I have had forever.

Then, as a nod to the colorful window set into the brick wall, I added some colorful flowers and a butterfly to my brick card front.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Karen J.

Weekend Recap

Hello, hello.  I am here on Sunday night, posting the results of my crafty adventures this weekend.

First up is an Easter card that is headed to one of my mother-in-laws (the Catholic one!).  I used the sweet smaller tulips from PTI Tulip Time.

I am entering this card at Less is More #268, where the challenge is 'what's outside your window'.  It is officially spring here in San Diego, although our winter often feels like spring or sometimes even summer.  Tulips are out everywhere, and that is what I see from the window of my car when I am driving around.  I am also entering this card at Paper Players #287 where the challenge is clean and simple spring.

I have another Easter card, this one for a friend, and I used PTI Spring Woods.

I used the PTI Pretty Frame die as an impression plate, and also sponged a bit of Spring Rain ink right under my focal point.

I am entering this card at AAA Cards #60: Easter and Just Add Ink #303: Just Add 'E' (Easter).

For my next card, I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #228 and the colors from Color Throwdown #384.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Monday: Use Some Lucky Stars--if you look along my left panel, you will see some very teeny and very lucky confetti stars.

I used PTI Confetti Toss for the left panel, Hooray for the streamers and Bold Blossoms for the sentiment.

Saving the best for last, this next card is my favorite of all the ones I made this weekend.  Honestly, I don't know why, but I really am loving these Happy Birds I just got from WPlus9.  I started with the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #164.

I didn't want to do too much to color these birds, so I just took some of my lightest and palest Copic markers and lightly colored the lower part of each bird.  Then, I outlined the birds in Copic C1.

I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the card, but I stamped "It's Your Birthday" and a couple of small images from PTI Good Times inside the card.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday no toppings and Simon Says Wednesday Cute and Cuddly.

That's it for me today.
