Getting Ready for the Holidays

Hello and happy Monday.  It's been a while since I posted something just for fun.  First up is a card inspired by some leftovers from a card I made taking a Hero Arts card class online 2 weeks ago.  I pulled out some Distress Oxide ink pads and blended myself a pretty pink and purple background and then coated it with shimmer spray.  I used the die cut letters from a holiday cover plate by Hero Arts, using the actual die cut as a template to place the letters.  The 'O' in Holidays was looking a little empty, so I popped on a cute little penguin.

I am entering this card at Color Hues #26: Purple & Pink, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Touchy Feely (texture from the raised letters and penguin), and Addicted to Stamps & More #414: Any Occasion (Christmas Holidays).

My next card uses a Poppystamps Ornament Trio Cutout die and Washi tape.  I wanted to play along at Poppystamps #84: Wonderful Washi, and looked for a creative way to use some glittery and metallic washi tape.  I used the washi tape underneath the spaces cut out by the ornament dies, and used black card stock inlaid for the strings.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Touchy Feely (texture from die cuts), and Addicted to Stamps & More #414: Any Occasion (Christmas Holidays).

Last up is a set of cards with matching envelopes using Altenew Garden Hydrangea stamps and dies. I am entering this set at Just Us Girls #603 (purple flowers) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Card + Matching Envelope.

Time Out #100...Reminder...Thank You

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, we challenge you to be THANKFUL

I made a bunch of different thank you card sets for my daughters and nieces to use.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures before I sent the sets to my nieces.  Here are some pics of the cards I made for one of my daughters.

I made them flat cards--that is their favorite type of thank you, as there is just enough room for the essentials.  I used an Avery Elle sentiment and stamps and dies from PTI for the sweater and gloves.

There were a couple of different sweater patterns in the kit, and I also mixed up the colors a little.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Bobby, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  Verve is our sponsor for this challenge and we also have Julee from Verve joining us for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

My Crafty Week

Here are some pictures of what I've been working on this week.

A huge thank you to my bestie Kim, who sent me a million die cuts for my new MFT Polar Bear Stamps.  I used one of the bears on this card, inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #265.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.

One more card with those adorable polar bears...this one inspired by the sketch at Case This Sketch #200, which I flipped.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #222: Make Your Mark.

My next card was inspired by this beauty of Leigh's.  I stamped a city scene for the Male Room #49 where the challenge is ???? Scapes and I decided to stamp a city scape.

I used a spotlight technique, and colored everything that is part of the die cut Christmas tree green. I left the rest of the buildings grey.  Here is a better view of the dimension of the Christmas Tree.

I am entering this card at Just Us Girls #372: Christmas Tree, Simon Says Monday O' Christmas Tree, and AAA Cards #79 Christmas.

One more holiday card from me--this one using these really fun holiday light dies from Lawn Fawn.  I used colors from CAS Colours and Sketches #202:  Seasonal Colors.  I chose the color scheme from challenge #189.  Can you see all the shimmer on those lights from Wink of Stella?  I am also entering this card at Inkspirational #123: CAS with Sparkle and CAS on Sunday #97: Christmas.

The last thing I made this week is a card set for my neice who is studying to become a teacher.  I am entering this set at Less is More #305, where the challenge is to use primary colors.  There are 8 flat cards with matching envelopes.

Two Flat Card Sets

Hello.  I was inspired by the challenge at Make it Monday #267 where we were encouraged to use assembly line card making.  I made two note card sets and a little pouch to hold them.  I stamped all the envelopes with just the tree and little bird, and you can see one of the envelopes in the upper right of this photo.

Each set contains 4 thank you cards--flat cards made from 1/4 piece of card stock.  The sentiment is from Wet Paint and the other images are from Holiday Folk.  I will enter these thank you cards at Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge is Thanks/Thanksgiving.

The other 4 cards all say just a note, and use the same stamps as the thank you cards.

Here is how the two sets look all packaged up.  I used a tutorial I saw at Splitcoast Stampers, although it turns out that the tutorial was for 4x4 cards, so I modified the measurements to fit my A2 sized cards.  The stamped bow is from Avery Elle Beautiful Bow.

I am going to enter these card sets at Addicted to Stamps and More #219

This is what the pouches look like when they are opened up.

Happy Birthday and Thank You

I am playing along at CAS(E) this Sketch #178 and Seize the Birthday with a birthday card using some new Reverse Confetti stamps and dies.  I didn't see a good place for a sentiment, so I stamped one inside the card.

I made a set of 10 thank you note cards for a friend who is recovering from a fall.  I started with a box of pattern paper folded note cards, cut them down to A2 size, embellished them with various thank you die cuts of gold shimmer paper, and then put a strip of patterned paper on the inside and also the bottom of the envelope.  I made 2 of each design.

I think it will be a very practical gift, as I imagine she will have many people to thank in the coming weeks.

I am entering this card set at Simon Says Monday where the challenge is to use patterned papers.
