Time Out #41...A Laugh is a Smile that Bursts

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Time Out.  This week, our challenge is Inspired by Words.  We have this quote by American poet William Cullen Bryant:

"Autumn...the year's last, lovliest smile."

My idea was to use a sentiment related to 'smile' and fall colors.  I pulled out PTI Funky Florals, and stamped in Summer Sunrise, Scarlet Jewel, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile.  I added a little bit of burlap texture to my front panel before popping it up on the card base.

I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us over the next two weeks.  Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and our guest designer, Glenda of My Paper Cat.

Edited to add:  Linking up to Freshly Made Sketches #206.  (Thanks, Lisa)

Happy Little Stamper October Sketch Challenge

It is time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch we have for you this month:

I was in a holiday frame of mind, so I pulled out PTI Holiday Home and used my Misti to stamp a few houses in nontraditional holiday colors--WPlus9 Sweet Nectar, Blossomsberry and Hero Arts Cornflower.

Please visit the Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge blog for more ideas and inspiration for this sketch.  I hope you will play along.  You have the entire month of October.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: September, 2015

Welcome to My Nightmare....

Our host this month is Jessica Davis of The Paper Parade, and she sent such a fun and wonderful assortment of Halloween goodies--I am so ready to say good bye to hot weather and summer and hello to fall.  Jessica's kit has really gotten me in the Halloween mood.

Here is a picture of Jessica's kit.  So many fun colors, images and papers to play around with.

There is a lot to see, and many blogs to hop along to, so I will jump right in.

Of course, I have so many left overs.  Jessica's kit was HUGE.  I can't wait to see what everyone else made with their kits.  Please visit us over at the 12 Kits of Occasions blog, where you can see a list of all the other designers and click over to their blogs.

We have a new face this month--Lisa of My Paper Tales has graciously agreed to take over for Cathy this month, as Cathy is unable to participate due to family commitments.   A huge thank you to Jessica for sending out such a wonderful kit and to Lisa for jumping in and helping us out.

CASology Week 166: Science

If you are looking for my ColourQ post, please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday.  It's time for another challenge at CASology.  Our cue word this week is SCIENCE.  I remember enjoying chemistry when I was in school, and chemistry has also been my daughters' favorite science course.  So, I used a little chemistry and pretended to mix yellow and blue to get green in my beakers.

Now, it's your turn.  How are you inspired by SCIENCE?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

I am also linking up at Simon Says Wednesday:  No designer paper and City Crafter #281 Geek Chic (Thanks, Marina).

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by Melon Door Lighthouse.

ColourQ #310...Sending Healing Wishes

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.   I loved these colors so much I dreamed about them after I saw them.  Perhaps it is that they reminded me of the colors in the kitchen in the house where I grew up.  Anyway, this photo said kitchen to me, so I pulled out PTI Bowl of Sunshine and got to work.

The colors I used are SU Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz.  You can use whatever colors you have that match these colors the best.

I decided to use the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #142 for my card.

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team.  I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

Happy Birthday to You

Hello everyone.  I had a bit of time earlier in the week to make something for this week's Make it Monday #224, and if you have not had a chance to watch it, I really encourage you to check it out. It's such a fun look and not that hard to do.

I made my first version of this card using the Center Stage Cover plate, but it was not a good fit with the sentiment I chose--too busy, so it went into the trash.  I ended up just using a solid piece of black card stock and slicing it into 1/2 inch pieces.  I used Luxe Gold paper for my Sketched Stars.

I was left with every other strip of black card stock, so made another card that is the exact mirror image of the first.  I embellished this card with Beautiful Blooms II flowers in Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet and Hawaiian Shores--some of my very favorite PTI colors.  I am entering this card at Just Add Ink #281:  Add Your Three Favorite Colors.

I am also entering these cards at Simon Says Monday Stamptember:  Use a Stamp and Simon Says Wednesday: No Designer Paper.

PTI September 2015 Blog Hop

Wow--where has September gone?  I feel like it is still summer.  I'm playing along today with the PTI September blog hop, where we have this wonderful fall themed inspiration photo.

I stamped a sentiment from Sentiment Signs in white ink on to a piece of black card stock that had been impressed with the Stitched Die cover plate.  I was going for the chalkboard look, so I also smudged white ink all around the center. I used some Prisma Color pencils in fall colors to color in the leaves and the border.  That's it--a very simple get well card.

I am also linking up at AAA #48:  Autumn Colors.

Time Out #40 Reminder...Patience

We are about midway through our Time Out #40, where the challenge is to CASE this stunning card by Tracey of In My Creative Opinion.  It's not too late to play along.

Here is my second take.  I die cut and white embossed vellum trees and then adhered them over some sponged Distress Inks.  My embossing was not as crisp as I would have liked, but I think it works ok with the sentiment, which is in sort of a distressed style.

I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us.  Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and our guest designer, Stempelfrida.

CASology Week 165: Circles

If you are looking for my ColourQ post, please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday.  It's time for another challenge at CASology.  Our cue word this week is CIRCLES.  The sky is the limit on this one.  There are so many ways to use circles on your card.  I decided to pull out a die I haven't used in a while that has a lot of circles on it, and also to do a bit of rainbow water coloring with my Ziggies.

Here you can see what the water colored rainbow panel looked like before I cut into it--well sort of, because I forgot to take a picture before I cut, but I put the negative over the card, and you can kind of see what I did.

Now, it's your turn.  How are you inspired by CIRCLES?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

I am also linking up at Simon Says Wednesday:  Die Crazy

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by Whimsy Stamps.

ColourQ #309...Grateful For You

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.   Doesn't this color scheme just scream 'fall' to you?  Well, it did for me.  The colors I used are PTI Terracotta Tile, Harvest Gold, WPlus9 Fairy Dust and Hero Arts Charcoal.  You can use whatever colors you have that match these colors the best.

I started by cutting the Text Block Grateful die out of Terracotta Tile and Harvest Gold paper.  After stamping my card base with leaves in Fairy Dust and Charcoal, I adhered the Terracotta Tile die cut and then pieced the negative pieces back in using the Harvest Gold die cut negative pieces.  (I am completely stumped as to what stamp set I used for the leaves, as I made this card about 2 weeks ago and am only just now writing up my post--if you recognize these leaves, please let me know in the comments.)

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team.  I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.
