Thinking of You and Happy Birthday

Hello and happy Friday.  Any big plans for the weekend?  I think it will be pretty quiet around here as my youngest is still studying for finals.

Every week when I see the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch I think it is the best sketch ever.  And, then the next week, they do it again.  I was inspired to pull out an older floral set that is still a favorite--Year of Flowers Mums for my card today.

I stamped the largest flower right in the corner, then masked it off and surrounded it with the smaller bloom.  I used Distress Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber to water color my flowers and to play along with the Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop.

If you look very close, you will see my Glossy Accents condensation drops, the lesson at Make it Monday #213:  Cool Condensation Effects.

The challenge at Time Out #32 is to CASE this beautiful card by Deepti.  I thought it would be fun to use the stamp set that Deepti designed herself--Blooming Buds.  I was inspired by the black panel, the torn edge, the gingham pattern and the flowers.

I stamped the flowers on vellum with Versamark and embossed them in gold.  Then, I used Copic markers to color and shade the back side, then fussy cut them and arranged them on my card.  I think I have seen Deepti use gold embossing on these flowers somewhere and that vision stuck with me.  I really like how they look stamped in gold.

I am also linking this card up at Addicted to Stamps and More #147 Make Your Mark, Stamplorations Anything Goes and Craft Stamper Take a Technique Texture.  It is hard to see in this photo, but I used a woodgrain impression plate on the black portion of the card.

Thanks for Visiting

  12. A duo of dazzling floral cards, Joyce. Crushing over the yellows of the first; smitten with the the pink and gingham of the second. Again, your creativity abounds! Good luck to your daughter on her finals. Our students have their first provincial Diploma exams beginning June 12th (English...the subject I teach), with the remainder of the exams running from the 17th to the 26th. Ready to start counting down the days...
