Time Out #140...Reminder...Hang In There

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, we challenge you to be inspired by a photo.

Here is a bigger version of the photo.

I really wanted to work with the sponsor stamps Sketchy Houses which Jenny so generously sent me,  so I decided to stamp and color the outside of a house that I imagined would be decorated like the inspiration photo inside.  I used colored pencils, which I have not used in quite a while, to create a casual and beachy house.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is , so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  Topflight Stamps is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

My Crafty Week

I had a super crafty week.  This week, I went to Camp Create at MFT for the first time.

I earned 4 badges so far, and hope to complete the 5th tomorrow.

Day 1 was Wonderful Watercolor and I made a watercolor sky behind my New York city skyline.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to 'Make Your Own Background'.

Day 2 at Camp Create was Remarkable Resist, and I made this card by heat embossing Roses All Over with white embossing powder and then blending a variety of blue and green Distress inks.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to 'Make Your Own Background'.

Day 3 at Camp Create was Spectacular Shakers  and I used supplies from the Good Time To Wine card kit for my card.  This was the first time I have ever used shaker pouches for a shaker card, and I am completely convinced.  I have never successfully created a shaker card that actually shook, and these pouches made it so easy.

Those shaker wine glasses were so fun and easy to make that I made another card with them and I am entering it at Seize the Birthday (no toppings).

Day 4 at Camp Create was Glitzy Glitter and I used the colors from MFT Color Challenge #121 to create my card.  I liked the suggestions on how to use just a bit of glitter to avoid a glittery mess, and I used glitter washi tape over my sentiment and Gold Stickles as my candle flames.

I just received a set of tiny adorable pandas from Mama Elephant, and they were perfect for this week's challenge at Less is More #400:  Small Images.  A special thank you to Michelle, whose DT card most directly inspired this card.  I used colors from Just Us Girls #497 and am also entering this card at AAA Birthday #3: For the Girls.

That card led to this card, also inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #397.  I am also entering this card at Just Add Ink #466, where the colors and the Christmas theme were my inspiration, Shopping Our Stash #400:  Christmas in July, The Male Room #115: Christmas in July and also Less is More #400:  Small Images.

And, now for the sad part.  I needed a few pet sympathy cards this week, and also had to replenish my stock of that type of card.

This card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #331.

I am entering this card at Paper Players #451: Masculine and AAA Cards #145:  One Image.

And lastly, I am entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Animal Magic.

CASology Week #348...Shimmer

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is SHIMMER.

I thought of water, and how it shimmers in the sunlight.  I used some light blue shimmer paper to cut my shimmery water, straight from the romantic canals of Venice.

Now it's your turn.  How does SHIMMER inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer Maria and the CASology design team.  Our sponsor this week is STAMPlorations.

My Crafty Weekend

I had so much fun getting inky this weekend.  It's going to be a long post!

First up is this card using EH Bookworm Lady inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #396.

Another card to add to my birthday card stash:

I am entering this card at Color Throwdown #551:  Pink, Gold, Black and White, Just Us Girls #496 to make the sentiment the focal point, AAA Birthday #3: For the Girls, and Less is More #399: Celebrations.

Another birthday card, this one using the new Ellen Hutson Big City Die---cut three times and layered over a card front where I blended Distress ink using a PTI Sunburst Stencil.

I am linking this card up at Seize the Birthday #169: Sunshine, CAS on Friday #162: Use a Stencil, Addicted to CAS #163: Heat (from the sun), and AAA Cards #144: Maxi White Space.

Still on a roll with birthday cards, this one for the guys...

This card was inspired by the color scheme at Paper Players #450, the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #330,  and the Clean and Simple challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More #349.

Can you stand one more birthday card?  With a scooter!  I am seeing scooters all over blog land and also in my town.  This cute scooter is Good Times by Ellen Hutson.  I used the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches #329 (flipped it), Inkspirational Challenge #191--I was inspired by the balloons in the photo, and The Library Challenge #339: Five Weeks in a Balloon.

Change of pace....my last card is a baby card, using a sweet die set I won from Poppystamps last month--Whittle Ducks.  I looked for a sentiment that said something about having your ducks all in a row, but when I couldn't find that, I decided to make a baby card.

I am entering this card at Poppystamps #58: Animal Kingdom and Simon Says Monday Challenge: Waves.

Are you exhausted?  I am!
