Time Out #147...Reminder...Thank You

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, we challenge you to be inspired by the words below...

I used this really fabulous graphic stamp from our sponsor, Uniko for this challenge.   The stamp is called Mid Century Modern, and it really appealed to me.  I was inspired by the word 'grateful' in the challenge quote and made a thank you card.  I grabbed a 'thank you' sentiment from somewhere in my stash, and wrapped it around the stamped edge of my focal image.  I added various enamel dots in a pretty random way, to give my card a futuristic look.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

I used this really fun flamingo stamp set from Newton's Nook called Flamingo Flock.  After stamping the image on the card front, I decided to do a little bit of selective coloring on the raised circle.

CASology Week #354...Fog

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is FOG.

I immediately thought of all that lovely cool fog in San Francisco, and decided to see if I could replicate that on a card.  I sponged some grey clouds on a piece of card stock, added a die cut bridge (Golden Gate Bridge, in my mind) and then covered the panel with vellum to soften the look and add to the overall foggy scene.

Now it's your turn.  How does FOG inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer  and the CASology design team.  Our sponsor this week is STAMPlorations.

My Crafty Visit

Lucky me....my niece came to visit for a few days, and she wanted to craft 24-7.  She was a quick study and made so many wonderful creations.  I was right along with her, and have 6 cards to post today.

First up is one of my favorites....it is amazing how easy shaker cards are when I have the right sized customized pouch!  I am entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #362:  Make Your Mark.

How about a swarm of penguins?  I think it's called a Waddle.  I forgot to leave a place for a sentiment on this one, so it will go inside, as I didn't want to cover anyone up in my group photo.  I am entering this card at Addicted to CAS #169: Creature, CAS Christmas October: Winter Scene, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Christmas.

My next card gave me a chance to show my niece the magic of heat embossing and dry embossing, and I am entering it at The Flower Challenge #37: CAS, The Library Challenge #43: The Secret Garden, and The Paper Players #462.

I am entering this following card at Paper Smooches October Challenge:  DT Inspiration...I was inspired by the cards in this post, and also Just Us Girls #508:  Designer Paper...some hombre watercolor paper by Lil Inkers.  Just love those bitty baby sharks.

Last up is a pair of cards I made using a blend of fall colors.  I couldn't decide if I wanted my die cut to have blending or the background to have blending, so I made one of each.

I am entering this card at Shopping Our Stash #406 and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Fall.

And, the other version...I am entering this at The Male Room #121:  Stay CAS.

Crafty Round-Up

Hello and happy Monday.  I'm popping in quickly before Zumba class to post a few cards I made over the weekend.

First up is this hoppy little birthday card, inspired by the sketch this week at MFT Sketch Challenge #457.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #175 with the topping of Add a Geometric Shape (circle), The Male Room #121: Stay CAS, and CAS on Friday #165: Masculine (this card is meant for a little boy birthday).

My next card is inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #342, where I flipped the sketch, and used some stacks of books for the two vertical elements.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #169: Creature (cat and worm), and Addicted to Stamps and More #361: Anything Goes.

I made a second version of this card, and am entering it at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Think Pink and AAA Cards #150:  One Layer.

That's it for me right now.  Off to Zumba!!

I have always loved the large scale of the Ruffled Ribbon Die from CAS-Fridays Stamps, and have used it so many times over the years.  For this card, I framed my simple die cuts using the PTI Pierced frames, for a really Clean and Simple Breast Cancer Awareness card.
