CASology Week #329...Turn

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is TURN.  I was thinking of things that turn, and I thought of a merry go round.  I had this stamp from a Hero Arts monthly kit, and it was waiting to see some ink.

I kept my card CAS by limiting my stamping to the bottom 3rd of the card, as well as by just sponging a bit of color over my image.

Now it's your turn.  How does TURN inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer Swati and the CASology design team.

Happy Valentine's Day

I am playing along with this week's Make it Monday #348: Lotsa Letters with my first card.  I was also inspired by the Throwback Thursday post where the Heart cover plate was featured.  The colors I used were inspired by brighter versions of conversation heart candies.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #325, where the photo on the bottom right has rows and columns of little Valentine's Day items, and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #127: V is for Valentine.  SSOS is a new challenge for me, and I'm not sure if my card is too nice or not snarky enough?

My next Valentine's Day card is inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches #305.  I paired up a puppy from ME Puppy Play with the dog house from Paper Smooches.  I can't remember where I got the Darice paw print embossing folder, but it's been in my stash for a while.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday challenge:  Have a Heart.

Papertrey Blog Hop

I have missed the past several months, and am finally playing along with the PTI Blog Hop this month.  With all the changes (departures) going on, I am wondering if this will be the last blog hop?  I hope not, but just in case it is, I didn't want to miss it.

This month, we have this photo for our inspiration.  I was immediately drawn to the pattern on the upper cake, and pulled out a very old set, Background Basics Random Stripes for my card.

I also used some older flower stamps, Beautiful Blooms II in colors inspired by the colors of the flowers in the inspiration photo.

Let's make it a PTI all the way post.  My next card is for this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge.

Original Card

I wanted to take this card I made using Brushed Birds, and create a simple card using my new Warmer Together stamps, which looked to me like Brushed Penguins.  I kept the design similar, and changed the animals and the colors.

CASology Week #328...Smile

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is SMILE.  I looked through my stamps and found a sentiment I had totally forgotten about that is perfect for a card to send to a friend, just because.  Another interpretation that I didn't think of until I had already made my card would be to make a card featuring anything that makes you smile (puppies, chocolate, hugs, you get the drift).

I stamped my sentiment in the lower right corner of the card, die cut a leafy branch (PTI Turning a New Leaf) and then built it back up with layers of matching green card stock.  It's been a while since I used the inlaid die technique, and this was a reminder to me of how fun the process is and how much I like the final product.

Now it's your turn.  How does SMILE inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

CASology Week #326...Frozen

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is FROZEN.  I know many of you live in places where the weather could be described as frozen.  I just sent one of my daughters back to college in Maine, where she will be frozen for another few months.

Here in San Diego, I can only dream about freezing weather and cute penguins ice skating on frozen water.

Now it's your turn.  How does FROZEN inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
