Two Birthday Cards

I've got 2 birthday cards to share today.  First up is my feminine card.  I used a NBUS Stamploration Bold Florals Stencil and sponged several colors of Distress ink.  Then I cut my panel (to get rid of the unfortunate smudge) and made a place for my sentiment.  I was very pleased with how the flowers turned out, which was just as I imagined.  I sponged the outer part of the petals with Spun Sugar and the inner part with Worn Lipstick.

I am linking this card up at Just Us Girls #275, Simon Says Monday Inky Background Challenge, Stamplorations Stamps & Inks Challenge and the Stamplorations Anything Goes Challenge.

Next up is a masculine birthday card--always good to have those in my stash.  I used Lil Inkers Long and Stitched Rectangles as well as PTI Small Sketched Stars.  Both are NBUS for me.

I am linking this card up at Colour Me Striking #54 as well as Simon Says Wednesday It's a Guy Thing.

Finally, would like to remind everyone of the NBUS challenge going on this week at both CASology and Darnell's Playhouse.  If you've got something NBUS on your clean and simple card, please head over to CASology and link up.  And, you can link up any style of card using NBUS over at Darnell's Playhouse.

Thanks for Visiting

  6. Love those flowers, Joyce. I think it's hard to stencil something like that and not get a smudge, or mixed colors. I like how you "saved" it. The other card is so very patriotic, perfect for a guy.

  27. Two stunning cards, Joyce! You've produced two excellent inspirations for both sexes. Gosh, we should really try to do one for each more often when we make cards, huh? I said that to myself when I made a male and female version of a card ONCE last year. You can see how well I followed through on that thought!

Thanks again for letting me play with you at CASology this week!! It's been such fun! I really appreciate the reminder to your readers that they can link to my challenge, as well. It seems straight-forward, but when I'm visiting the entries as GD, I'm seeing some that only linked to CASology, so I'm reminding them in my comment. I'm not really comfortable doing that, but I don't want them to miss out on a chance for a prize when it follows that their cards should be linked to both. Anyway, thank you! Have a great day!! Hugs, Darnell
