My Crafty Weekend

 

Hello and happy Sunday.  I had some crafty time this week, and here is what I made.  First up is my first project using the C9 Card Stacks Base.  I made this little thing--I don't know what it is, but not a card, and I used the colors of fall as well as stamps and dies from Hero Arts My Monthly Hero and Meadows Heroscape.  I am entering this at Stay Crafty with Hero #28: Fall Colors and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Not a Card.

Next up is a holiday card I created to play along with Poppystamps Challenge #85: Make it Magical.  I used all white card stock and a heaping amount of shimmer spray to create my magical winter wonderland scene.

This card was also inspired by the same Poppystamps Challenge #85: Make it Magical. This time, my magical element is none other than Rudolph.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #215: Circles and Perfectly CAS #19: Geometric.

This next card matches stamps and dies old and new--from PTI and ITP, and they even have almost the same name--Winter Woods and Winter Woodlands.  I am entering this card at the PTI Video Series with Shauna Challenge to make a winter birthday card as well as at AAA Cards #200: Celebrate and WWC326: Occasions (Birthday).

Last up is almost the same card, but this time with a red and grey color scheme for the challenge at CAS Christmas and also for the challenge at ABC Christmas: U is for Under the Tree.

Just a Few Cards

 

Hello and happy Friday.  I managed to make a few things over the course of the week.  First up--it's starting to get close to Halloween, and that gave me a good excuse to pull out some older PTI dies and stamps (various Petite Places stamps and dies) to make this Halloween card.  I had planned to enter this card at a few different Halloween challenges, but I missed them all.  Oh well.  I am entering this card at PTI The Great Cover Up (Halloween card), Addicted to Stamps and More #415: Die Cuts, Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies, and WWC326: Occasions (Halloween).

I really could not wait to dive into some older MFT stamps that I just finally got around to buying, and ended up making two cards.  The first card is inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #562.  I really love this sentiment, and I think this will be a fun card to send out.

This next card took a bit of fiddling around, but I finally got it how I wanted it.  I was late to figure out that the stand alone dog face went with the dog that was shown only from the rear.  Duh...

I used the colors from the MFT Color Challenge #174 to make my card.  First I cut down the front panel of the card and covered it with die cut shiplap to make a fence.  Then I gave my dog a house to stand on to see what was on the other side of the fence...

Here we see the dog peeking over the fence to say hello.  Of course, this happens on a sunny day in San Diego.  I am thinking of all sorts of fun ways to use this dog, so stay tuned.

Time Out #198...A Little Note

 

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card in support of one of the following themes: Breast Cancer Awareness or Friendship or Encouragement.  Or all three, as these themes do work so well together.

I used CAS-UAL Fridays stamps Floating for my card, which is in support of all three themes of the current challenge.  I used a variety of techniques on this card--fussy cutting and ink blending for the flowered balloon, stencil sponging for the clouds and Copics for coloring and also to create my grass.

CASology Week #396...View

 

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is VIEW.  I always enjoy looking out the window to check out the view.  I used Simon Says Stamp Spring Windows stamps to create my window scene.

Now it's your turn.  How does VIEW inspire you?


As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:

1. One main image
2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
3. Limited layers & embellishments
4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

World Card Making Weekend

 

Hello, and happy end of World Card Making Day-Weekend.  I actually got some crafty time, and am now ready to show what I made.

First up is a birthday card inspired by several challenges.  PTI What Do I do With This? challenge asks for sequins as accents, and that was easy enough to do to make this cake from PTI Cake Please look even more festive.  I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #200, as they are celebrating their 200th challenge.  Wow and congratulations to one of my favorite challenges.  I am also entering this at Seize the Birthday #224: Cakes.

Next up, I pulled out this adorable fox from PTI Stylized Autumn to create my next card.  I am entering this card at PTI Melissa's Fab Friday Feature and also Inkspirational #249, where I was inspired by those sweet foxes in the photo inspiration. 

Last up is a card just bursting with sunflower goodness.  I was able to create this card using a set of layering stencils from a Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit that my BFF Kim brought to visit me in San Diego.  We got up to all sorts of crafty fun and naughtiness, and these sunflowers are just the tip of the iceberg (or should I say sand castle?).  I am entering this card at Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #27: Stenciling and The Card Concept #160: Sunny Sunflowers, where my style is clean and layered.

I will be entering all three of these cards at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Getting Ready for the Holidays

 

Hello and happy Monday.  It's been a while since I posted something just for fun.  First up is a card inspired by some leftovers from a card I made taking a Hero Arts card class online 2 weeks ago.  I pulled out some Distress Oxide ink pads and blended myself a pretty pink and purple background and then coated it with shimmer spray.  I used the die cut letters from a holiday cover plate by Hero Arts, using the actual die cut as a template to place the letters.  The 'O' in Holidays was looking a little empty, so I popped on a cute little penguin.

I am entering this card at Color Hues #26: Purple & Pink, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Touchy Feely (texture from the raised letters and penguin), and Addicted to Stamps & More #414: Any Occasion (Christmas Holidays).

My next card uses a Poppystamps Ornament Trio Cutout die and Washi tape.  I wanted to play along at Poppystamps #84: Wonderful Washi, and looked for a creative way to use some glittery and metallic washi tape.  I used the washi tape underneath the spaces cut out by the ornament dies, and used black card stock inlaid for the strings.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Touchy Feely (texture from die cuts), and Addicted to Stamps & More #414: Any Occasion (Christmas Holidays).

Last up is a set of cards with matching envelopes using Altenew Garden Hydrangea stamps and dies. I am entering this set at Just Us Girls #603 (purple flowers) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Card + Matching Envelope.
