Mid-Week Update

Hello and happy Wednesday.  I could not wait to ink up my Winter Fox stamps from Mama Elephant and SSS.  I made this card, inspired by the challenges at AAA Cards #174, AAA Birthday #17, Inkspirational #221 (the log, balloons, and woodland feel) and Seize the Birthday #199: no topping.

I also inked up my newest die collection, Toadstool Garden from The Greetery.  I was inspired by the colors at CAS Colours & Sketches #388, and am also entering this card at CAS Mixup September: Embossing with Dies (I used Leaf Pattern Cover-Up die from Lil Inkers), WWC #289: Anything Goes Masculine and Seize the Birthday #199: no topping.

The following 6 cards are all variations on the theme of 'never give up' or 'hang in there' that I made while playing around with a fun embossing folder I found at Tuesday Morning months ago.  I sell these cards to a friend in the real estate business, and she loves house themed cards she can send to potential clients who are trying to find that perfect new home.

Starting with my personal favorite, with these adorable little Agenda Chickies from Mama Elephant--they are all ready to paint, and I think they are going to make a bit of a mess.  I added just the faintest bit of color to the raised images with Copic markers.

The next two cards use the color scheme at Color Hues #2.  I used a darker turquoise on the first card I added this Altenew Victorian house and a sentiment to the center of the card.

This next card uses the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #453.  I added a light blending of turquoise ink to just the raised houses.

I will enter the remaining designs at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Frame it.  My circle of raised houses and trees frame the sentiment.

I framed an encouraging sentiment from PTI Making Strides.  I embossed scraps of red and green paper and fussy cut one house and 2 groups of trees, adhering them to the corresponding embossed images at the bottom of the card.

For this next design, I sponged a rainbow of inks on the houses, and sponged all the trees green.

And, finally, my last design is the most simple, with just a light sponging of green ink on all the raised parts.

Happy Labor Day

Hello and happy Labor Day.  With the hot weather and stay at home orders, today was a good bonus crafting day for me.  I made 2 fun birthday cards with some of my favorite little critters.  I am entering these cards at AAA Birthday #17: Animals or Critters, Seize the Birthday #198: No Topping, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Favorite Stamp (Mama Elephant Little Agendas---various animals), and SOSS #168: F is for Friends (all my critters play so well together, especially when they are all going to the same birthday party).

My first card uses a critter from each of the ME Little Agenda sets that I have.  It was a fun but also difficult choice to pick which critters could come to this party today.  I also put some balloons and mountains in the background from The Birthday Bash and Scene Builder stamps.

This card uses The Greetery Destination Stencil to create a little town, where the Chickie friends are getting ready for a birthday party.  Trees and taxi are from PTI City Scene.

My 3rd card is not as cute, but I think more sophisticated.  I used some earthy fall colors and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #388 to create this Thankful Project for ITP Melissa's Fab Friday Feature.  My colors were inspired by the challenge at Shopping Our Stash #428 (Mustard, Orange, Green).

I used PTI Quilled Elegance, as this stamp seemed to match the sketch perfectly.

Happy Birthday and Baked with Love

Hello and happy Friday.  Well, I finally jumped into the Slimline Card fad, inspired by the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #446.  I ordered the Mama Elephant Slim Window Dressing dies, with the idea that they might make it easier to make a slimline card, and I was right.  It was a real creative stretch to think about making a card with these different dimensions, but I am happy with my results.

Here are some additional pictures of the different sections.

All these little critters are from Mama Elephant Bookworm and Little Chickie Agenda, and I would highlight the dog reading the book outside the middle window--for Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #165: D is for Dogs and the bird, flower and stenciled background inside the windows for Seize the Birthday #196: Tic Tac Toe (bird, flower, stencil).

I am entering both this card and the next card at Watercooler Wednesday #282: Anything Goes.

I really had fun with this next card.  I was initially inspired by the challenge at Use Your Stuff #402: Family Fun.  Now that my nest is full again, with my 2 kids home from college, we have spent many evenings together watching the Great British Baking show together.  We have also started baking more, possibly inspired by the show.  My card reflects our watching baking together as well as baking together for ourselves and our neighbors and friends.  I am also entering this card at Stay Crafty with Hero #12: Friendship and A Blog Named Hero July: Embossing.
