CASology Week #316...Punctuation

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology. This week, our cue word is PUNCTUATION. I found this cue to be challenging, but I also think it is one which encourages a lot of creativity and out of the box thinking. I remembered PTI Grand Ampersand stamps, and used one of the ampersand dies to create a Clean and Simple wedding card.

Casology Week #81: AND

Well, last week was a lot of fun. I was surprised to learn that many of you guys who played along with the challenge did not even like purple. I love purple, and it did not even occur to me that anyone would feel otherwise. Who knew how under appreciated purple is? So, I learned something, and was impressed with everyone who played along despite their own personal feelings about purple.

Perhaps this week will be a bit less controversial, with the CASology #81 cue word of AND. What do you think of when you hear the word AND? How are you inspired? I immediately thought of my PTI Grand Ampersand set, which has so many different varieties of the word 'AND'--which I had to have the moment it was released, and then never even inked it up.

I think that this may just be the valentine I give to my DH. He is not too into the mushy stuff, and I think the masculine color scheme would suit him just fine.

I knew I wanted to have the ampersand in a window, with the 'you' and 'me' straddling the window. I have seen lots of ways people accomplish this and get the stamping lined up, but here is my secret way: I stamped everything on the white panel, then used a 1 1/4" circle punch to punch out the window. I ran that panel through my big shot with the Canvas/Linen Impression Plate and adhered it to my card base with foam tape. I used normal adhesive to adhere the punched out circle directly to the card base, and just made sure everything was lined back up. I find this way much more reliable than stamping twice and trying to stamp in the right place.

The most time consuming part of this card was fiddling with those patterned paper strips (Authentique Fresh) to get that left border exactly how I wanted it. This card is a good example of how you can use patterned paper sparingly and still keep a card CAS.
