Today, we are hopping in memory of our dear friend and fellow cardmaker, Lindsey Martin-Penny,
who sadly passed away last year from a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Lindsey’s husband Burke thought it
would be a great time to sell off her many craft supplies, with all of the proceeds going towards
Lindsey's Legacy Fund for Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer Research in cooperation with The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
The purpose of this hop will be to honour Lindsey, celebrate her life and all that she loved,
as well as help spread the word to raise funds for clear cell ovarian cancer research.
Lindsey loved cats, and I mostly sent her cat-themed cards. I remember buying this MFT cat stamp set because I really loved those cats with eyeglasses. I had Lindsey in mind when I bought this set, so I thought it fitting to use it in my card for this hop.
I never got to meet Lindsey in person. She was meant to come over to Tracey's
house the next time Kim and I visited Tracey, but that visit was postponed due to covid.
Now, I will never meet Lindsey, but I like to think that her memory lives on in my heart.
Visit Emily Leiphart’s blog to discover many ways to help!
If you get lost along the way, please return to Emily’s blog where she will have the
entire hop list.

Such a sweet creation Joyce. Aw, she would love this!
ReplyDeleteLove your cats card. What memories of cat cards even though never meeting in person, blessings of just knowing she loved cats!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great card for Lindsey, Joyce. We all know she adored cats and her cat Duncan. I know he misses her as much as we do.
ReplyDeleteLindsey would have LOVED this card. (I also have this cute set) Isn't it amazing how some of our closest friends are those we've never met in person?
ReplyDeleteYour card is a wonderful tribute to one of Lindsey's loves. Your cats couldn't be cuter!
ReplyDeleteThis is simply wonderful, the perfect card for a tribute to Lindsey! Love all your sweet kitties!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card, and a gorgeous stamp set. I seem to recall thinking about Lindsey and this set. I don't know if we discussed it together or whether I saw it and thought about how much she'd love it. I never got to meet Lindsey either as I live in the UK. While so many people criticise the internet I am truly grateful that it exists as it enable my friendship with Lindsey and has helped me to acquire so many wonderful friends. Sending you love and hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteOh Joyce - I'm so sorry you never got to meet her in person but great that you were her crafty friend. This card is perfect - she would have loved it. So fun and fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLindsey would be head-over-heels in love with your cat card, Joyce, as am I! It's absolutely adorable! Such a shame that you and Kim were "this close" to meeting her. I join you in wishing I had an opportunity to do so but...was not meant to be. Our friendships were still strong, even though they were mainly online - and we're so blessed to have 'known' her. Sending you big hugs and much love!
