My Crafty Week

Hello hello.  Loads of photos and cards, and not much talking today.

First up are a bunch more book themed cards that I made when I pulled out a bunch of my book themed supplies.  I am entering them all at Shopping Our Stash #477: Back to Books.

I am also entering this one at Addicted to CAS #227: Pink.  Must comment on this quote, as it is from my most beloved book.

Next up is a trio of cards using a new stencil and stamp set from SSS.  I'm still trying to get a handle on the stencil, as there are so many different parts.  These cards are mostly inspired by the DT samples.
I am entering them all at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Fun With Stencils, and 2 of them at AAA Birthday #40: Anything Goes.

How about these adorable noodle themed cards--perfect for my ramen-loving daughters.  I am entering them at Addicted to Stamps #436: Make your Mark.

How about some super cool floating critters?  This card is inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #549 and the colors at Color Throwdown #706.

And I am maybe stretching the challenge, but it seems to me that these round floaties will be doing a bit of rotation in the pool, so I am entering them at Inkspirational #272: Rotate.

More Birthdays and Books....Fun Sentiments Edition

I had big fun this weekend, pulling out many of my book themed stamps and dies to play around.  I created quite a few cards--and I'm not sure that I'm done yet.  But, because 2 of the challenges that inspired my crafting are ending shortly, I have taken a pause to post just those cards.

I loved Jacquie's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #548, but it took me a while to figure out what I would do with it.  I really like how this card came together, and it was such fun to make.  I die cut a whole bunch of book covers and pages from one of my new Waffle Flower book dies and used that as the vertical stripe in the sketch.  I find this sentiment to be hilarious and true, and it comes from an older PTI set gifted to me by my BFF Tracey.  I may have to make a couple more of these, as I can think of so many people who would appreciate this card.

Next up is a pair of cards inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink #616.  I used some other book and pages die cuts from the same Waffle Flower book dies and combined them with 2 of my favorite sentiments from Clearly Besotted Bedtime Story stamps.  I added a bit of texture to the card front, as it was looking a little plain.  The texture is a bunch of inspiring words...hard to see in the photo, but you can sort of make them out in real life.

Birthdays and Books

Hello and happy Saturday.  I am popping in quickly to post two cards I made with this super fun new die I just got from Waffle Flower called Book Cover Die.  I used it to make a couple of birthday cards for my book club friends.  I decided to use Lindsey's color scheme from Color Hue #46, paying tribute to her love of reading and books.  I am also entering these cards at AAA Birthday #40: Anything Goes, and Addicted to Stamps and More #435: Die Cuts.

I'm Getting Crafty Again

Hello friends.  I have been getting pretty inky lately, and have taken a pause to post my cards for a variety of challenges.

First up is this fun city scape card using Hero Arts Tri-Fold Edge City Die.  I cut and created this city and nestled it into a square window because I am playing along with Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero August Challenge.  As it is a birthday card, I am also playing along at AAA Birthday #40 and The Paper Players #603.

Next up is another card with a square window using Hero Arts Looking Glass dies for the same Hero Arts challenge as the card above.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Spritz and Splatter (my evening sky) and ABC Christmas Challenge (R for Reindeer).

How fun is this snowboarding polar bear?  I followed the sketch at MFT Sketch 606 and am also entering this card at Retro Rubber #188 (stamps are at least 3 years old), AAA Birthday #40 and The Paper Players #603.

Last up is another birthday card, initially inspired by the challenge at Poppystamps #95 to have the words take center stage.  This Poppystamps birthday die fits the bill, as it cuts out loads of happy birthday greetings with one pass through the die cut machine.  I decorated my card front with lots of fun Whittle sea creatures.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #244--no stamping,  AAA Birthday #40 and The Paper Players #603.

As all of my cards today rely heavily on die cuts, I am entering the lot of them at Addicted to Stamps #435.

Time Out #220...Happy Birthday

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make your own background.

I used a stencil from our sponsor called Stamplorations Almost Shattered, and blended a rainbow of DO colors across my card front.  When that was all done, I sprayed the entire thing with shimmer spray.  Making my own background using blending and stencils is one of my most favorite ways to quickly create a beautiful card background.

I added a happy birthday sentiment using Stamplorations Birthday Word Die and the stamped word 'happy' from a random birthday stamp set.  This card was so quick and easy to make.

Where will this challenge take you?  We would love to see you make your own background for your card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Hannelie, and the Time Out Design Team.  Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Happy Birthday

Hello and happy Sunday.  I broke open two of the recent card kits from MFT that I ordered, and made a couple of birthday cards for a bunch of challenges.

First up is this beachy birthday card, following the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #605.  I used the Perfect Pool Water stencil and sand and surf dies to create my ocean waves and sandy beach.

This next card uses some very fun dies from the Cheers to Your Birthday Card Kit and also the colors from MFT Color Challenge #194.  I am also entering this card at Perfectly CAS #28: Festive.

I am also entering both of these birthday cards at the following challenges:  AAA Birthday #40, The Paper Players #603, Addicted to Stamps and More #435, and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

Warmest Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I am participating in the challenge this week at Color Hues where we are honoring and remembering our friend, Lindsey, who recently lost her battle with cancer.  I never had the privilege of meeting Lindsey in person, but we were online friends for a number of years.  We were on the DT of The 25 Days of Christmas Tags together, and I never could see a cat or book themed stamp set without thinking of Lindsey.

I chose to CASE a card of Lindsey's and decided on this card from a recent blog post of hers.  I knew I wanted to make a clean and simple card, just like Lindsey's, and wanted to have a cat sitting in a chair reading a book.

Lindsey's Card

I used Sunny Vibes stamps from MFT, and put my cat reading a book at the beach.  I chose this stamp set in particular because it is one that Lindsey and I had discussed, and I remember making a card from it and sending it to Lindsey.

My CASE'd card

I am also entering this card at Just Us Girls #643: CASE a Designer (Lindsey M-P), AAA Birthday #40: Anything Birthday Goes, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes, and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Birthday.
