Make it Monday #140 and Simon Says

I made a super quick card today using the Make it Monday #140:  Ink Pad Designs technique.  It is so quick and easy to fill a page with swiped ink.  I am in the middle of making a card set, so I just grabbed some of the ink pads that were lying around and started swiping.

I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Monday Challenge Got Ink?  and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Keep it Clean and Simple.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Boutique Borders
Paper:  White, Hibiscus Burst
Ink:  Hibiscus Burst, Hawaiian Shores, Winter Wisteria, Summer Sunrise, Versafine Onyx Black
Dies:  Boutique Borders, Pinking
Other:  Rhinestones

Happy Birthday Christina

Happy Birthday Christina

Surprise

A few of us have gotten together to celebrate Christina's birthday.  I have been fortunate to get to know Christina through our 12 Kits group.  Before that, I was a stalker of her blog. Christina is one of the most talented crafters I know.  I cannot say how many of her cards I have pinned and cased.  I just love her style.

Here's to a very happy birthday, Christina.

Christina's blog is named SeaGlass Papercrafts, so I thought she might like a seaside birthday party.

I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch to make my card for Christina's birthday.

I took a hint from Kelly G., and put some patterned paper on the inside of the card.

And, some more patterned paper lining the envelope.

I am also linking this up at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge of Keep it Clean and Simple.

And now, please hop around to the other birthday blog hop participants.

Moxie Fab Thanks! Blog Hop

You should have arrived here from Beth Silaika's blog.

This post is dedicated to Cath, who coined the term 'Moxie Fab' and then showed us how it is done.  Thanks so much for all your inspiration, and all the best whatever you do next.  I will miss you and your wonderful posts.

And a side view of that inlaid, built up, die cut feather.

I am also linking this card up to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge of Keep it Clean and Simple.

Thanks for Everything!!

Your next stop is Cathy Andronicou's blog.

My first card today is for this week's ColourQ cQc #214.  I thought these colors would work well for a masculine birthday card, and I used my brand new Confetti Garland Borders stamps and dies to make a quick  CAS card.

I decided to stamp a little on the inside, too.

Off to Paris using City Scene with my card for Seize the Sketch STS #7 and CAS-ual Fridays CFC119:  Embossing.  I used some paper from Basic Grey Persimmon and embossed it with the Sunrise Impression plate.

I am also entering both of these cards into this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Keep it Clean and Simple.

City Scene and a Winter Penguin

Tracey's Birthday Linky Party is going on all week.  Everyone is invited to share in the fun.  If you are looking for Tracey's Birthday Linky Party, please click here.

I think that City Scene is my favorite stamp set ever.  And the cards I am posting today have got to be amongst my my favorite cards that I have ever made.  I hope you like them, too.  There are just so many fun ways to combine these stamps and dies.

My first card is for this week's RetroSketches rs#88.  I may have simplified the sketch a bit.  There were a lot of lines in the sketch, and it was hard to keep track of everything.  I stamped a few buildings in the background using Soft Stone ink.  Most of the other pieces were die cut and layered.  We are in New York on this card--possibly Brooklyn.

My next City Scene card uses this week's Sweet Sunday #196 sketch, rotated 90 degrees clockwise.  I am excited because this is the first time I have ever played in this challenge.  My city has hopped over the pond to London for this card. That tree behind the double decker bus is from Winter Hills. I left this one without a sentiment.  There wasn't a good place for one, so I will just put something inside when I use the card.

This last (for today) City Scene card brings us back to New York for Christmas.  Wouldn't that be fun in real life?   I grew up in a suburb of New York, and we used to go into the City every year at Christmas time.  Such a fun time to be in New York.  This card is not for any challenge--just for fun.

My last card for today uses the Stamped Square Border technique explained in this week's Make it Monday #139 and the Dynamic Duos DD#77 colors.  It is a CASE of Marybeth's card from earlier today.  I loved her striped red and white square border with the sweet winter scene, so I made my own using the candy stick from Candy Cane Christmas and Winter Penguin.  I used some tiny snowflakes from Snow Globe stamped in Brilliance Platinum Planet, and a little snowman from Tag-its #8.

Make it Monday #139 and Simon Says

Tracey's Birthday Linky Party is going on all week.  Everyone is invited to share in the fun.  If you are looking for Tracey's Birthday Linky Party, please click here.

I have a quick card for this week's Make it Monday #139:  Stamped Square Frames.  I am also linking up to Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.  I decided to use one of the Boutique Borders frames along with Peaceful Pinecones to make a get well card appropriate for a male.  I think those are the most challenging types of cards to make.  I am happy with this one, and may just make a few more for my stash.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Boutique Borders, Peaceful Pinecones
Paper:  Rustic Cream
Ink:  Ripe Avocado, SU Crumb Cake, Versafine Vintage Sepia

Tracey's Birthday Linky Party is going on all week.  Everyone is invited to share in the fun.  If you are looking for Tracey's Birthday Linky Party, please click here or just scroll down.

I'm sneaking in at the last minute with one more card for this week's Make it Monday #138:  Inlaid Die Cuts.  I had this idea to use the snowflake die, but didn't get to it until the very end.  I dry embossed the inlaid snowflake with the Mehndi Medallion Impression Plate and am entering my card into this week's CAS-ual Fridays CFC119:  Embossing challenge, as well as the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.

I used a new-to-me PTI Snowfall set I recently bought used on the PTI forum to make a snowy background using Brilliance Platinum Planet ink.  One more card for the stash to go to the Caring Hearts card drive.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  'Tis the Season Sentiments, Snowfall
Paper:  White, Pure Poppy
Ink:  Pure Poppy, Brilliance Platinum Planet

Happy Birthday Tracey!!!

SURPRISE!!!

Here we all are, wishing a very happy birthday to our dear bloggy friend, Tracey.

How about some cake?

Now, what do you think of this cake, Tracey?  Don't you think that all this candy would really boost your creativity?

How about this cake?  Super cute, right?  And I know that you love the whole Nautical Trend, seeing as you are all Moxie Fab and trendy, too.

This cake would look awesome as a card, don't you think?  In fact, I may just make a card inspired by this beautiful cake.

Now, this is the cake that I would want.  Aren't those owls just darling?

Well, enough of the cake.  How about a toast to the birthday girl.  Tracey, I don't think there is a single blog out there that you do not visit regularly to leave a bit of love and some encouraging words.  It seems like everywhere I go, you have been there first.  You are such a kind soul, and a creative and fabulous card maker.  I am blessed and honored to be your friend.  I hope you have a wonderful birthday filled with all of your favourite things (that's Canadian for favorite).

Here is my birthday card that is on its way to you right now (a nice way of saying that my card will be a bit late...)

As I was preparing to organize a little bloggy birthday celebration, it quickly became apparent that Tracey's birthday needed a bigger format than a blog hop could handle.  So.....we are having a huge LINKY PARTY.  Come one, come all.  All friends of Tracey are invited.  Please link your birthday card for Tracey.  I will keep the linky open for a week, so please spread the word.  The more, the merrier.

[Caveat:  this is the first time I am hosting with inlinkz, and I am not 100% sure it is going to work perfectly...so if the link up does not work, please leave me a link to your blog post in the comments, and I will work out the kinks when I wake up on Sunday, and then link you up.]
