Happy Birthday and Thank You

I am playing along at CAS(E) this Sketch #178 and Seize the Birthday with a birthday card using some new Reverse Confetti stamps and dies.  I didn't see a good place for a sentiment, so I stamped one inside the card.

I made a set of 10 thank you note cards for a friend who is recovering from a fall.  I started with a box of pattern paper folded note cards, cut them down to A2 size, embellished them with various thank you die cuts of gold shimmer paper, and then put a strip of patterned paper on the inside and also the bottom of the envelope.  I made 2 of each design.

I think it will be a very practical gift, as I imagine she will have many people to thank in the coming weeks.

I am entering this card set at Simon Says Monday where the challenge is to use patterned papers.

PTI February 2015 Blog Hop

I've got a quick post for this month's PTI Blog Hop.  I created a panel using lots of water and reinkers in Enchanted Evening, Royal Velvet, Autumn Rose and Tropical Teal.  I covered it with a die cut from my Quatrefoil Cover Plate.  I was kind of going for a direct replica of the inspiration piece.

I am also linking up at Simon Says Monday No Rules.

5 Cards for Challenges

.

Hi there and happy Wednesday.  I've got a card for this week's Make it Monday #180:  Stamping Ombre Backgrounds.  I loved Laura's background so much that I decided to try to make it myself.  I pulled out the same stamp set and inks and set to work.  I don't think mine came out as nicely as hers, but I am still pleased.

I was inspired by this card by Taheerah and wanted to try embossing in gold using embossing paste.  Honestly, I don't know why it never occurred to me that one could emboss with embossing paste.  You would have thought that I would have clued in when I heard the word ...'emboss'.  Anyway, I loved Taheerah's card and used my SSS Falling Snow Stencil with gold embossing powder to make my card.  I am entering this card at Virginia's View Challenge #9:  All Things Metallic.

When I saw Cristina's tag this morning on Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags, I knew I wanted to do something just like it for The Card Concept #23:  Krafty Christmas challenge.  I will put my card in the Clean and Layered category.

Last up are two cards that use the fabulous sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #99 and the fall colors at ColourQ #267.  I made a plaid strip using WMS Offbeat Backgrounds and then die cut and stamped the leaves and acorns from Autumn Acorns.

Well, that's it for me today.  Need to dash off to pick up my girls at school.

Happy Birthday Happy Dancer!

I was so very excited to receive an invitation to the social event of the season--Ardyth and Darnell are throwing a birthday bash for Bev, our Happy Dancing friend.  Bev is such a talented crafter and warm-hearted friend.  Have a piece of cake while I show you my card for Bev.

I decided to CASE one of Bev's cards for her birthday party.  It took me a long time to decide which card because there were so many CAS beauties to choose from.  This is the card of Bev's that I picked to CASE.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEV

I hope you have a wonderful and crafty day.

Of course, I had to use some NBUS and link to Darnell's NBUS challenge, since Darnell is one of the party hosts.  I used the SSS Bubble Parade die, which has been gathering dust in my craft room for several months now.

I ran that Bubble Parade die through in Limeade Ice, Tropical Teal and Hawaiian Shores, and decided to use all the extra bits for other cards.

Do you want to join in the fun at Bev's birthday bash?  Head on over to Ardyth's blog and join the linky party.

A Card Set and Another Mini Notebook

I promised to show you what was in this gift bag I posted yesterday, so I am back with some photos for you.  I followed a tutorial I saw on the Reverse Confetti blog to make this card set.  I used the same color scheme as the card from ColourQ #244 and added texture to my stamped panels, so am entering this card set at Addicted to CAS #39.

I used Reverse Confetti Lots to Say for the sentiment, Waltzingmouse Simple Sprig for the flowers, and Lawn Fawn Penelope's Garden for the leaves.

Attempt #2 for this week's Make it Monday #167 to make a mini notebook was a little more successful.  I put a couple of layers of rubber cement on the edge of the paper stack, before using Scor Tape to put it all together.  I think that little bit of magic helped a lot.  I am also entering this into Simon Says Monday Magic challenge.

My colors are from this week's ColourMe #23 Monochromatic Coastal Cabana, my sentiment is Think Big, and the images are from Oopsy Daisy.  I used white, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal papers and inks.

That's it for me today.  I hope you are not sick of this week's ColourQ colors, because I have some more cards for tomorrow using a stamped panel I made for this card set, but then rejected.

ColourQ and Stamplorations

What would you do if you found almost 2 hours?  I was lucky enough to find about that much time when my oldest daughter did not need to be picked up from school early, as we had planned.  I'll bet you can guess where this is going....I used some of my extra time to make a quick card--my second for this week's ColourQ cQc #230, where I just loved the colors--and my first time playing in a new challenge for me, Stamplorations Challenge #7.  This week's Stamplorations challenge is a sketch, one of my favorite challenges.  I rotated the sketch 90 degrees.  I was inspired to use Circle Scribbles by this gorgeous card by Kim.

I do have just a couple of Stamplorations sets coming my way, but the gals at Stamplorations were nice enough to point out to me that I did not need to wait for my package, as any stamps are welcome in their challenge.

So, if you are looking for another sketch challenge, why not check out Stamplorations?  This sketch is going for the next couple of weeks, and it's a really versatile sketch.  I'm sure I'll be back to try it again once my new stamps arrive.

And, the rest of my 'found time' is now going to be spent taking Sherlock on a nice long walk.  Gotta wake up that lazy puppy first.

Also linking up to Simply Create Too, where their challenge is to shop your stash.  I've had those MME enamel dots for quite a while, and this is the first time I've used them.  And, The Paper Players #185, where the theme is Thank You cards.
