Three cards to Start the Weekend and A Great Honor

Hello and happy Saturday.  I am finally getting a chance to post some cards I made over the last day or so.  My first card is for this week's Addicted to CAS challenge where the code word is GOLD.  I must say that I am extra excited to be playing in this particular challenge because I learned that I have been inducted into their Wall of Fame.  Wow--what a great surprise.

I was inspired by the sketch at this week's Seize the Sketch STS#26.  I really wanted to use Mehndi Medallion in Brilliance Galaxy Gold.  The scale was off when I tried my design as a one layer card, so I made my focal point on a smaller scale, and popped it up on my card front.  I hope this still qualifies as using the sketch.  A trio of shiny gold sequins finishes off the card.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Make it Sparkle.

I have entered at Seize the Birthday a couple of times already this week, but I am finally entering with the weekly toppings option--Monochromatic Yellow.  I've had paint on the brain this week, as we are re-doing my daughter's room, so I grabbed a yellow paint swatch for my card.

Last up is one more card for this week's Make it Monday challenge for creative card borders.  I used Mat Stack 4 and Modern Wood Mats along with some die cut wine glasses from Paper Smooches.

Here is what it looks like open:

I am very excited because my older daughter is coming home late tonight.  She has been in Rhode Island all summer studying art.  It's the longest and furthest away she has ever been alone, and I would have to admit that she handled it better than I have.  I am so very excited that she will be back home before long.  I think I will try to make a few cards while I am waiting for her.  That always makes the time pass so quickly.

Thanks for Visiting

Crafting With My Mom

Hello.  I must apologize for not getting around to visit as much as I would like lately.  My most recent house guests left today--I did get to spend several hours in my craft room with my mom.  Mostly, she was admiring all of my cards and selecting which ones she wanted to bring home with her, and I was basking in her praise and admiration as well as making a few cards for her.  She has two friends who will be celebrating milestone birthdays soon, and she wanted something age specific for them.

And inside:

I was able to use the same basic layout, but changed lots of the details to make a card for a woman and another for a man.  And, no--they are not married to each other..

My mom loves puzzles, so when I saw the Lil Inker Piece of Me set, I had to get it.  I did not have time to make anything for my mom before she visited, so I pulled together these quick cards while she was here.  Thanks so much, Amy, for the inspiration.  I used this week's ColourQ #249 for color inspiration.

I had made a set of mini note cards with patterned paper mini envelopes when my MIL was here last week, and my mom decided to take that set as a gift for a friend.

They all fit into a little gift bag that I made with the We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board.

My mom is a Certified Chocoholic (me too!!) and I had a bunch of chocolate stamps out to show her.  I only had a chance to make one chocolate card, and owe her a bunch more using other images.  I am excited to complete the set.  It will be a delicious project.

Last up is a card I had such fun making.  I used the sketch at Seize the Sketch #24, and paper pieced everything using Echo Park So Happy Together.  This stamp is NBUS and it is called Ilovetoshopabella and I think it is from Joann's.

Well, that's it for me for this weekend.  I hope you all have a great week.

Thanks for Visiting

ColourQ #214, Seize the Sketch #7 and CAS-ual Fridays 119.

Tracey's Birthday Linky Party is going on all week.  Everyone is invited to share in the fun.  If you are looking for Tracey's Birthday Linky Party, please click here.

My first card today is for this week's ColourQ cQc #214.  I thought these colors would work well for a masculine birthday card, and I used my brand new Confetti Garland Borders stamps and dies to make a quick  CAS card.

I decided to stamp a little on the inside, too.

Off to Paris using City Scene with my card for Seize the Sketch STS #7 and CAS-ual Fridays CFC119:  Embossing.  I used some paper from Basic Grey Persimmon and embossed it with the Sunrise Impression plate.

I am also entering both of these cards into this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Keep it Clean and Simple.

Supplies Used (PTI):

Casology #56 and Seize the Sketch #1

Just when I decide that sketch challenges are my favorite sort of challenge, a new sketch challenge pops up and I am so happy to be able to play in the very first challenge at Seize the Sketch.  And, the cue card for CASology is definitely something right up my alley as well.  When I hear 'dessert', all I can think about is CHOCOLATE.  I am pretty much only interested in dessert if it is chocolate--and then I am very interested.

I think this card will go to my oldest daughter, along with a giant chocolate bar, next time I think she needs a little stress relief.  I alternated rows of chocolate chips with a fun curly line from Lawn Fawn's Belinda's borders.  I stamped the chocolate bar twice in versamark, embossed with Zing Chestnut and cut them both out.

This MFT Chocolate Sentiments set has so many cute sentiments--here is what I stamped inside the card:

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  MFT Chocolate Sentiments, Technique Tuesday Eat Chocolate, Lawn Fawn Belinda's Borders
Paper:  PTI White
Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa, Versamark, SU Pretty in Pink
Other:  Canvas/Linen IP, Zing Chestnut Embossing Powder
