Getting Ready for the Holidays

Hello and happy Monday.  It's been a while since I posted something just for fun.  First up is a card inspired by some leftovers from a card I made taking a Hero Arts card class online 2 weeks ago.  I pulled out some Distress Oxide ink pads and blended myself a pretty pink and purple background and then coated it with shimmer spray.  I used the die cut letters from a holiday cover plate by Hero Arts, using the actual die cut as a template to place the letters.  The 'O' in Holidays was looking a little empty, so I popped on a cute little penguin.

I am entering this card at Color Hues #26: Purple & Pink, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Touchy Feely (texture from the raised letters and penguin), and Addicted to Stamps & More #414: Any Occasion (Christmas Holidays).

My next card uses a Poppystamps Ornament Trio Cutout die and Washi tape.  I wanted to play along at Poppystamps #84: Wonderful Washi, and looked for a creative way to use some glittery and metallic washi tape.  I used the washi tape underneath the spaces cut out by the ornament dies, and used black card stock inlaid for the strings.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Touchy Feely (texture from die cuts), and Addicted to Stamps & More #414: Any Occasion (Christmas Holidays).

Last up is a set of cards with matching envelopes using Altenew Garden Hydrangea stamps and dies. I am entering this set at Just Us Girls #603 (purple flowers) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Card + Matching Envelope.

Holiday and Birthday Card

I made a holiday card with the sweet mouse (rat) from Christmas Critters, inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #201.

I am also entering this card at SSS Monday Challenge Christmas Gifts, Addicted to Stamps and More #223 Holiday and AAA Cards Game #79 Christmas.

I am running seriously low on birthday cards, so I used the colors from Color Throwdown #422 to create this birthday card.

Guest Designer....Inspired by All the Little Things...Joy and Peace

I am so pleased to be playing along today at Inspired by...All the Little Things #34 as their guest designer.  This week, we have this photo inspiration.

I was inspired by the blackboard in the upper portion of the photo and by the wreath and red bows below it.  I combined the two ideas on my card.

I used a white gel pen to doodle a frame.

Please head over to Inspired by...All the Little Things to see more inspiration from the Design Team. I hope you will play along with us this week.

ColourQ #364...Peace on Earth

It's time for another challenge at ColourQ.  I think these colors are perfect for Halloween, but I feel kind of done already with Halloween crafting, so I decided to play with my new What the Doodle Ornament stamps from PTI.  One more card for my holiday card stash.

Please head over to the ColourQ blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along this week.

Peace for the Holidays

It feels like I have been bitten by the holiday crafting bug and now I am in full holiday swing.  First up, a card using the beautiful colors at this week's Color Throwdown #414.

I really like the delicate patterns in the newest What the Doodle by Papertrey--a set of ornaments.  I stamped an entire card front, using my Misti to help with alignment, and then decided to only use the bottom half of my paper.  I'm sure I'll use the rest some other time.  I am also entering this card at Just Add Ink #333:  Just add G (green ornaments).

More of those ornaments on my next card--this time they are die cut, white embossed and sponged with Distress ink.

I am entering this card at Christmas Card Challenges #44: Decorations and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Totally Resistible.

Last up is another snowy winter scene--perfect for Simon Says Monday Challenge: Explore the World.  I am also entering this card at Merry Monday #217: Retro/Vintage.  I used the same PTI Winter Village as I used in my earlier Merry Monday entry to create my vintage scene.

Time Out #63...Reminder...Peace

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this week is a theme challenge with an optional twist.

The theme is holidays with the optional twist of no stamping (sentiment stamp allowed).

I used a word die cut for my sentiment, and framed it with a Winter Floral Cover Plate die cut.  CAS with lots of detail, but still no stamping.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Aileen.  We are sponsored this week by Uniko.

Time Out #63...Joy

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this week is a theme challenge with an optional twist.

The theme is holidays with the optional twist of no stamping (sentiment stamp allowed).

I decided to play along with the twist, and looked to my word dies to help me satisfy the challenge. I used a PTI Phrase Play die (joy) and some patterned paper for my card.  Quick and easy, once I worked out what I wanted to do.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: December, 2015

It's time for our December12 Kits of Occasions post.  I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by.  This month, Lindsey is our hostess, and she sent a wonderful and enormous kit, filled with cute and fun supplies, and a very non-traditional color scheme.  Her theme is 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland", and I had so much fun playing with everything in the kit.  Of course, I have lots of leftovers as well.  I can't wait to see what everyone else did with their supplies so I can CASE them with my leftovers.

Here is a peek at the kit Lindsey sent out.

I'll get right to my cards now...

I used so many of the cute images in this kit, but still have so much left over.  My biggest regret is not finding a home for the adorable leaping reindeer--he will be the first to be used during leftovers month.  Thanks so much, Lindsey, for sending such a wonderful kit.

That's it for me today.  Please visit us over at the 12 Kits of Occasions blog, where you can see a list of all the other designers and click over to their blogs.  You can also see the two lucky gals who Lindsey invited to Guest Design with us this month.
