Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends who are celebrating today.  And, happy Thursday to everyone else!  I am so grateful for the friendships I have made out in blogland.

Today I am posting a batch of holiday cards, inspired by various challenges.  I somehow left all my holiday crafting until the last moment, so I've been a whirling dervish of craftiness.

First up is a card inspired by this cute card by my friend Kim at Muse #243.

Kim's Inspiration Card

I was inspired by Kim's use of patterned paper, the window and her cute critters.  I am also entering this card at Retro Rubber #76: Anything Goes.  The penguin stamps are either from last Christmas or the year before.

Next up is a holiday card inspired by several challenges.

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #314, the Food and Drink challenge at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, and am also entering at Christmas Card Challenges #26: Candy Cane.

CAS Colours and Sketches #250 has a color challenge and is also celebrating their birthday--happy birthday!!  I have used their colors for another holiday card.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #269: Clean and Simple.

I broke out some festive washi tape for CAS on Friday #121: Washi Tape.  And, since I had to tear the Washi, I am also entering this card at Simon Says Monday Challenge: Tear it Up.

Last up today is a pair of cards inspired by the Paper Players #371: Warm and Cozy.

I made two versions, because I could not decide if the tree should be in front or behind the reindeer. I am thinking I like the one best with the tree behind.

OK, that's it for me.  Off to eat some turkey.

Casology Week 117: Candy

Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another CASology challenge and this week, our cue word is CANDY.  As if Chocolate was not enough, we are now thinking about candy.  Good thing that the calories don't count when they are on a card.

Although chocolate is my all time favorite candy, peppermints and candy canes are a close second.  I turned my candy canes into ornaments for this CAS candy-themed card using PTI Candy Cane Christmas stamps.

Now, it is your turn.  What kind of candy do you like to eat and/or craft with?  What do you think of when you see the word CANDY?  Have some fun with the cue word CANDY, and then please link up your creation on the CASology blog by Monday at noon (CST).

Check out the beautiful designs from the CASology Design Team members and see how they were inspired by CANDY.  Don't forget to keep your card Clean and Simple.

Sunday Night Wrap Up

I am writing this post at the end of a very busy and crafty weekend.  It seemed like I was not doing much more than drive my kids around this weekend, but I must have been home a lot too, because I have quite a few cards to post today.

My first two cards are inspired by this design at Festive Friday #42 and they will be donated to this year's Caring Hearts card drive.  I am hoping to make lots of Christmas cards in the next few months to donate to this worthy cause.

This first card is also inspired by the sketch at this week's CAS(E) this Sketch, and I rotated the sketch 90 degrees when I saw this card by Maureen in the gallery.  I did a bunch of stamping and masking, and then decided to cut out and pop up the two candy circles in front.  I was inspired by the red and white in the photo.

The pine cones and branches tied around the chairs inspired this next card.

I have another card for this week's ColourQ and it is going to the Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling to challenge (Shine On HYCCT1401B).

This next card is going to the Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling to challenge (Spoonful of Sugar HYCCT1407) and I followed a rotated version of this week's RetroSketches rs #136 challenge.  Just a head's up--I had to cut this ice cream die 5 times to get all the different colors of ice cream, and I do hate to waste die cuts, so you will be seeing this line up 4 more times on different cards with the flavors mixed up.

My last card for today uses the colors from Colour Me Striking and I will enter it at Seize the Birthday Anything Goes and Simon Says Monday Falling in love with...(my new IO die).  I made it a masculine birthday card because that is what I thought it looked like. I used a new die from Impression Obsession--I ran three colors through the die after cutting my card front, and it really was not that hard to fill in all the spaces with the different colors.

I am going to enter my 2nd, 3rd and 5th cards over at Virginia's View Challenge #8 Clean and Simple.

That's it for me today.  Believe it or not, I have more cards, but I am going to post them later on in the week.

Still More Tags

I'll keep this short.  More tags today....

The first set uses a tag die from Reverse Confetti, and images from PTI Candy Cane Christmas.

This set was inspired by (stolen from) this tag by Tracey.  The snowman and scarf are from WPlus9 Stitched Holiday Icons Die, and the snow and sentiment are PTI from Snow Globe.  I am entering these tags at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Let it Snow.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

I am so excited that my friend Tracey, from In My Creative Opinion has invited me to share a Christmas tag on her blog, as part of her '25 Days of Christmas Tags' series.  I first discovered Tracey's blog during her tag series a few years ago.  Since then, I have gotten to know Tracey as a good friend, and continue to be inspired by her creative posts every day.

On to the tag(s).  I made a set of tags using PTI Candy Cane Christmas--and packaged it up as a gift for one lucky teacher.

Pure Poppy/Ripe Avocado  Spring Rain/Hawaiian Shores   Simply Chartreuse/Winter Wisteria

I die cut a second tag an attached it to the back of each tag.  That way, both sides would look nice.

Lavender Moon/Ocean Tides   Aqua Mist/Pure Poppy   Berry Sorbet/Spring Moss

Don't forget to check out Tracey's blog.  She will have Christmas tag inspiration for you every day.

City Scene and a Winter Penguin

Tracey's Birthday Linky Party is going on all week.  Everyone is invited to share in the fun.  If you are looking for Tracey's Birthday Linky Party, please click here.

I think that City Scene is my favorite stamp set ever.  And the cards I am posting today have got to be amongst my my favorite cards that I have ever made.  I hope you like them, too.  There are just so many fun ways to combine these stamps and dies.

My first card is for this week's RetroSketches rs#88.  I may have simplified the sketch a bit.  There were a lot of lines in the sketch, and it was hard to keep track of everything.  I stamped a few buildings in the background using Soft Stone ink.  Most of the other pieces were die cut and layered.  We are in New York on this card--possibly Brooklyn.

My next City Scene card uses this week's Sweet Sunday #196 sketch, rotated 90 degrees clockwise.  I am excited because this is the first time I have ever played in this challenge.  My city has hopped over the pond to London for this card. That tree behind the double decker bus is from Winter Hills. I left this one without a sentiment.  There wasn't a good place for one, so I will just put something inside when I use the card.

This last (for today) City Scene card brings us back to New York for Christmas.  Wouldn't that be fun in real life?   I grew up in a suburb of New York, and we used to go into the City every year at Christmas time.  Such a fun time to be in New York.  This card is not for any challenge--just for fun.

My last card for today uses the Stamped Square Border technique explained in this week's Make it Monday #139 and the Dynamic Duos DD#77 colors.  It is a CASE of Marybeth's card from earlier today.  I loved her striped red and white square border with the sweet winter scene, so I made my own using the candy stick from Candy Cane Christmas and Winter Penguin.  I used some tiny snowflakes from Snow Globe stamped in Brilliance Platinum Planet, and a little snowman from Tag-its #8.
