Three for Friday

Happy Friday.  I've got a few projects to share today.  First up is my card for this week's Muse #17, where the Muse is Therese Calvird with this adorable card.  I am also entering this card into this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC101:  Stamp on DP, and this week's Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge to use small pieces of paper.

I thought that Therese's card was just the cutest thing--I was inspired by the cuteness, three animals, and the paper piecing.  All those pretty pastels made me think of a baby card, so that is the direction I went.

I paper pieced those darling foxes, using a tone on tone pattern for the main part, and then used the matching solid for the ears, tip of the tail and those bits around the eyes.  I am embarrassed to admit that I just now remembered that I have dies for this set, and wish I had thought of that when I was doing all that fussy cutting.  Well, I have to say that sometimes I do enjoy a bit of fussy cutting, so no harm done.

My next card is my second entry into this week's Retro Sketches rs#63 challenge, and I used the same stamp as my first card here.  I was stamping white on black to make some chalkboard images to send to Kim, and liked the look so much, I made one for myself.  After stamping in Fresh Snow ink, I smudged some more ink around, and also colored some of the white areas with colored pencils.  I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge to use small pieces of paper.

Last for today is a gift tag I made to match this card from yesterday.  I am entering this tag into the Gift Tag Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Color Throwdown #242 and Paper Players #145

When I first saw this week's Color Throwdown CTD242 colors, I was not so sure they would work together.  I decided to do some speech bubbles, as I have seen a lot of this around lately, and I am very pleased with the way the card came together.  I guess this is the benefit of a color challenge--otherwise I would probably make everything pink and orange or blue and green.  I used my Lawn Fawn speech bubble dies and a selection of sentiments from Paper Smooches Chit Chat to make a card to encourage a friend.

My next card is a very exciting milestone for me--the first time I have ever played with The Paper Players.  I had never heard of this challenge, and then saw two cards yesterday on some blogs that I follow with this awesome color scheme, and decided to play along myself.  I will definitely play again. I just love this pencil image--from Happy Trails, and who doesn't need some extra thank you cards at the end of the school year.

Dynamic Duos and CAS(E) This Sketch

I've got a quick post with two cards.  The first card is for this week's Dynamic Duos DD #42, and I used PTI Ripe Avocado and Harvest Gold.  I was eager to try my new Daydreamer dies, which were part of the giant prize package I won at PTI.

And, I am just squeezing in under the wire at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.  I didn't realize the challenge closed tonight, so I hurried to make my card.  I'm not sure about this one--it looked different in my head, but I'm posting anyway.

As there is still one day left on the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge, I'll be posting both of these cards there as well.

My Busy Sunday

I spent a good part of today in my craft room.  My oldest had a lot of homework, and the best way to make sure she did it was for us to both hang out in my office--she with her schoolwork, and me across from her, crafting away.

I needed a thank you card for a very sweet friend who sent me a wonderful surprise.  I decided to use this week's Color Throwdown CTD226 colors, which I interpreted as Spring Moss, New Leaf, Plum Pudding and Winter Wisteria.

My mom asked me if I had any cards that were either blank, or said something like 'thinking of you', so I got to work.

I liked this week's dynamic duos color scheme for either a sympathy card or a somber type of thinking of you card.  I used PTI Fine Linen and SU Crumb Cake.

PTI Larger than Life stamped in Fine Linen on Vintage Cream, with the sentiment in SU Crumb Cake.

I can't seem to get the color right on this picture--but it is PTI Larger than Life stamped in SU Crumb Cake on PTI Fine Linen paper.

These cards are 3.5 by 5--Mehndi Medallion in Ocean Tides and Scarlet Jewel, embossed with clear, with a sentiment from PTI Postmarks.

These cards were inspired by this post by Kate on A Passion for Papertrey--the pencil from Happy Trails in various colors with a sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes.

I took out my copics and started playing around with Quilled Elegance, to see what I could come with for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use markers.  This card by Lisa and this card by Annie provided Inspiration.  I had fun coloring and cutting with this set.
I am entering this final card into this week's Less is More Week 104, Sketch #8 challenge.
As you can see, I got a lot done today.  I will have a nice big package to send to my mom, and got to participate in a couple of my favorite challenges, too.
I'm not posting a supply list, because I'm too lazy, but please let me know if you have any questions.  I think I covered most of the big stuff anyway.

Hi there

Today, we were challenged to use both butterflies and leaves in our project.  I used the butterfly from Happy Trails, and stamped the die cut butterflies with patterns from Bitty Background Blocks .  The leaves are from Little Bitty Bird as well as Turning a New Leaf.  The colors are off on my photo--the background is berry sorbet and the butterflies are sweet blush with berry sorbet ink.
