Time Out #219...With Sympathy

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by this photo:

Fun fact about this beautiful sunset photo is that it is a picture of the beach near my house.  (I did not take this photo--but found it online)

I was inspired by the beautiful colors of this sunset, and the silhouette of the plants in front.

How will this photo inspire you?

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Deepti, and the Time Out Design Team.  Varada Sharma  is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Sunday Roundup

Hello and happy Sunday.  I'm here to post a few cards I made this weekend.  Up first is my favorite of the bunch.  I used this adorable pup cooling off in his kiddie pool from Lounging Pups for my card.  I was inspired by the colors at CAS Colours & Sketches #394 and the Day #19 Creative bug Masking video at the Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge  #13.  I am also entering this card at A Blog Named Hero Cute challenge, Inspired by...#138: Punny Sentiments, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Oh So Cute.

Up next is another card for the Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge  #13, this one inspired by the Creative Bug video from Day 8 Peek-A-Boo, and I am also entering this card at A Blog Named Hero Cute challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Oh So Cute.

The video from Day 8, gives some very helpful tips on how to use the Hero Arts Peek-A-Boo dies.  They recommend cutting a template from cardstock and then cutting off all the little doors.  You can then lay the template on the card front and then you know exactly where to stamp all the little messages that are behind all of the doors.

This card is stamped with white ink on black card stock.  I was originally planning to color some of the images in, but then I decided I liked how it looked with no color.  In person, it looks very much like a doodled blackboard.

This is what my template looked like after stamping all the messages.

And this is what the card front looks like before I glued my card front down.

Up next is another card for the Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge  #13, this one inspired by the Creative Bug video from Day 17 Cling Stamps.  I used the Hero Arts Leafy Vine cling stamp on Ocean Tides paper, and stamped tone on tone.  I had a request from my sister to restock her sympathy cards, so this one is for her.  I am entering this card at WWC285: Anything Goes Masculine.

This card pairs a mini bird I just bought from Ink to Paper with a bird and some flowers from Spring Woods from PTI.  I love how well they all play together.  I am entering this card at Festive Friday #66 (bright colors, flowers, bird, uplifting sentiment, sparkle).  I meant to add sparkle only on the birds' wings, but ended up with (lovely?) sparkle all over the card (and don't squeeze your Wink of Stella and shake it with the cap off near a card you just completed, unless you want a card with sparkle all over... just sayin').

My next card is another sympathy card for my sister's use, and it is inspired by the colors at Just Add Ink #519.

The next 2 cards are not inspired by any current challenges...they are all going to my sister to restock her sympathy card stash.  I really hope that she does not go through this batch as quickly as the last one.

That's it for me today.  Stay safe and craft on.

My Crafty Weekend

Here are the cards I made during my loooooong weekend.  (I think it was the weekend...it's hard to keep track of the days)

I made this card for the Stay Crafty with Hero Arts Challenge #4: Self Care.  I picked one of my oldest and most favorite Hero Arts stamps, Silly Scape for this challenge.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #177: Black, White and One Color.

My next card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #430, which reminded me I had purchased dies from The Greetery that were perfect for this challenge.   My colors were inspired by CAS Colours & Sketches #365.  Stamps are oldies but goodies from PTI Larger than Life.

Next up is a card with one of my favorite MFT polar bear images....and it was inspired by the sketch at MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #484 and the colors at MFT Color Challenge #139.   I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #183: Animal, and AAA Birthday #12: Dots and/or Stripes (striped scarf).

Last up is a card inspired by the Project Reach Out: Missing You Challenge.  I used vintage PTI Larger than Life and Vogue Vases stamps and dies.  I am also linking up at Addicted to Stamps and More #384: Clean and Simple.

Masculine Birthday and L'Shanah Tovah

This week, we are challenged to use florals on a masculine card at PTI Make it Monday #261.  I used Peaceful Gardens and Larger than Life and a masculine color palatte for my card.

I often use trees or leaves on masculine cards, but this is the first time I have actually used flowers.  I picked some flowers that did not look too floral, along with other nature images.

I am in the process of mass producing a bunch of Jewish New Years cards that I need to mail by next week.  The design fits the challege this week at The Paper Players #313: CAS Taste of Fall.

I used PTI What the Doodle Apple and a sentiment from L'Shanah Tovah.

Here is a peek at the inside.

ColourQ #343...Happy Birthday and a Masked Sympathy Card

Better late than never....I have a card for this week's ColourQ.  I really love these colors together, and am glad I finally had a chance to whip something up.

I used PTI Script Swirls Birthday stamped in black for my focal point, sponged over it with Distress Abandoned Coral, and then added some splatter stamps in Delicata Gold.  Really only took moments to make, once I had a chance to sit down and get started.

I am also linking this up at AAA Cards #65 where they are celebrating their 2nd birthday, Simon Says Monday Make a Wish, and Seize the Birthday (no toppings).

This week's Make it Monday #250 is all about masked backgrounds, and Laurie has a great video about it.  I masked off a section of my card and sponged Hibiscus Burst, Bright Buttercup and Orange Zest inks in the open space.

I stamped an image from Larger than Life--one of my very earliest PTI purchases--I'd say I've had these stamps for at least 5 years--and I am entering this card at Retro Rubber #39: May Flowers.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.
