I spent a good part of today in my craft room. My oldest had a lot of homework, and the best way to make sure she did it was for us to both hang out in my office--she with her schoolwork, and me across from her, crafting away.
I needed a thank you card for a very sweet friend who sent me a wonderful surprise. I decided to use this week's Color Throwdown CTD226 colors, which I interpreted as Spring Moss, New Leaf, Plum Pudding and Winter Wisteria.
My mom asked me if I had any cards that were either blank, or said something like 'thinking of you', so I got to work.
PTI Larger than Life stamped in Fine Linen on Vintage Cream, with the sentiment in SU Crumb Cake.
I can't seem to get the color right on this picture--but it is PTI Larger than Life stamped in SU Crumb Cake on PTI Fine Linen paper.
These cards are 3.5 by 5--Mehndi Medallion in Ocean Tides and Scarlet Jewel, embossed with clear, with a sentiment from PTI Postmarks.
These cards were inspired by this post by Kate on A Passion for Papertrey--the pencil from Happy Trails in various colors with a sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes.
I took out my copics and started playing around with Quilled Elegance, to see what I could come with for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use markers. This card by Lisa and this card by Annie provided Inspiration. I had fun coloring and cutting with this set.
As you can see, I got a lot done today. I will have a nice big package to send to my mom, and got to participate in a couple of my favorite challenges, too.
I'm not posting a supply list, because I'm too lazy, but please let me know if you have any questions. I think I covered most of the big stuff anyway.
Wowzers Joyce!!! All of these cards are amazing! I can't believe how many you created for CAS-ual Fridays!!! I don"t think I can pick a favorite. I love all of the stamp sets you chose to color. Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteYou had such a productive day. I love all of your cards, so no favourites. I will comment on a few that stood out though. Love the flowers you chose for the Color Throwdown, I always love the Mehndi Medallion and those Quilled Elegance flowers are perfect for Copics--your butterflies are extraordinary!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Quilled Elegance is a set I decided not to get and seeing all your fabulous cards makes me want to reconsider! One can never have too many butterflies! ReplyDeleteWow - what a fun day - love the sympathy card - perfectly designed & has a lovely soft & quiet feel to it. I am rethinking the Quilled Elegance set - the cards you have created are stunning and I really need to pull out the copics more! Pacific Coast Grill is now in Cardiff (was in Solana Beach) - our first time going to this location, so we were within waving distance on Saturday. You live in a beautiful part of the county!
