My Crafty Week

I played along with several of the PTI Anniversary challenges this week.  Here goes...

I made this card for the PTI Day 4 Floral Challenge and was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #258.  I'll also enter it at Seize the Birthday, without the toppings option.  I used Sweet Spring--and old set but one of my favorites.  Masked the center image to add more flowers on either side and colored with Copic markers.

My next card is for the PTI Transformation Tuesday challenge on Day 3.  I started with a card I made a while ago--I wasn't happy with it and never posted or sent it.  It seemed a little 'blah' to me.

Original Card
This card was one layer.  I cut the front to a 4 by 5 1/4 size, inlaid the die cut in a darker shade of green, and added one more hand cut piece of the sentiment.

Transformed Card
I am much happier with the new design.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #126: Dies.

My next 2 cards were inspired by the PTI Retirement Challenge from Day 5.  It looks like they are retiring most of the Boy Basics stamps, so I pulled mine out and made a couple of valentines.

I used Boy Basic Frog Hop and Heart Squared to create this valentine.  After stamping the frame of hearts, I cut it out, stacked it 3 high, and then inlaid the stack back into the negative space.  The partial frog is peeking into the window and the full frog is stuck on top.

I am also entering this card at CAS-ual Fridays #192: Hearts, Inkspirational #154: Aperture, and AAA Cards #108: All You Need is Love.

Another Valentine using a soon-to-be-retired stamp, Hello Foxy.  I am entering this card at Cupcake Inspirations #439: Love, Happy Little Stampers February CAS challenge: Hearts, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: It Must Be Love.

Last up is my 3rd Valentine with the same design.  I had to make them similar as they are going to 3 sisters and they like getting the same things.

I am entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #278: Holiday, Happy Little Stampers February Anything Goes with Dies challenge, and Simon Says Monday Challenge:  Love is in the Air.

That's it for me today.  I hope to have some more for tomorrow.

Happy Little Stampers Case The Designer July 2016...Just a Note To Say Hello

Hello and happy July.  I'm here to post a card for Happy Little Stampers Case the Designer challenge.

Our inspiration this month is provided by Carol.  Take a look at this adorable inspiration card.

I was inspired by the adorable critter in a window as well as the scene behind the critter and Carol's sentiment placement.

I used PTI Hello Foxy, and paper pieced the fox.  I cut a window in the card using a die from PTI Sending You, and then created my background behind the fox using some patterned paper with constellations on it and some itty bitty cloud die cuts.

Our challenge will run for the entire month of July.  I hope you will play along.  Please head over to the Happy Little Stampers Case the Designers blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Tag You're It #28

Hello and happy Friday.  It is time for a new challenge at Tag You're It! This week, our inspiration is provided by Jen Mitchell.  Take a look at her adorable tag.

I was inspired by the sweet bear holding those birthday balloons.  I used PTI Hello Foxy to create a birthday tag where my fox is (somehow) holding a bunch of festive birthday balloons.  I colored my fox and balloons with my Ziggies.

I hope you will play along with us this week.  More details and inspiration can be found here on the Tag You're It challenge blog.

ColourQ #211 and Tuesday Trigger

It is a super fun color scheme this week at ColourQ cQc #211, and I made a card inspired by this card I saw over at the Mama Elephant stampede.

I paper pieced this cute little fox, using a sheet from the Limeade Ice pattern pack.  I used solid Limeade Ice paper covered with Prisma Glitter for his face and the tip of his tail.  Since the glitter covered his eyes, I put them back on using Ranger Black Enamel Accents.

I made a matching envelope just for fun, lined with the same paper at the bottom of the card.

My next card is for this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger.  I was inspired by the chevrons and the colors.  I selected just a few colors to work with on my card, because it was too busy otherwise.  I cut a Pieced Chevron die cut from Smokey Shadow card stock.  I adhered that to a base of SU Basic Grey.  Then, I randomly filled in spaces with Scarlet Jewel, Summer Sunrise and Aqua Mist.  I stamped my tag three times and cut and popped the different layers, to make my focal point.

Supplies Used (PTI):
ColourQ
Stamps:  Hello Foxy, Lil Inkers Balloon Builders
Paper:  White, Limeade Ice, Recollections
Ink:  Orange Zest, Limeade Ice, SU Strawberry Slush, Versafine Onyx Black, Memento London Fog

Other:  Prisma Glitter, Ranger Black Enamel Accents

Tuesday Trigger
Stamps:  2012 Birthday Tags
Paper:  Smokey Shadow, Scarlet Jewel, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, White, SU Basic Grey
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Scarlet Jewel, Summer Sunrise
Dies:  Lil Inkers Pieced Chevrons, Photo Finishers
Other:  MME Enamel Dots

Three for Friday

Happy Friday.  I've got a few projects to share today.  First up is my card for this week's Muse #17, where the Muse is Therese Calvird with this adorable card.  I am also entering this card into this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC101:  Stamp on DP, and this week's Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge to use small pieces of paper.

I thought that Therese's card was just the cutest thing--I was inspired by the cuteness, three animals, and the paper piecing.  All those pretty pastels made me think of a baby card, so that is the direction I went.

I paper pieced those darling foxes, using a tone on tone pattern for the main part, and then used the matching solid for the ears, tip of the tail and those bits around the eyes.  I am embarrassed to admit that I just now remembered that I have dies for this set, and wish I had thought of that when I was doing all that fussy cutting.  Well, I have to say that sometimes I do enjoy a bit of fussy cutting, so no harm done.

My next card is my second entry into this week's Retro Sketches rs#63 challenge, and I used the same stamp as my first card here.  I was stamping white on black to make some chalkboard images to send to Kim, and liked the look so much, I made one for myself.  After stamping in Fresh Snow ink, I smudged some more ink around, and also colored some of the white areas with colored pencils.  I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge to use small pieces of paper.

Last for today is a gift tag I made to match this card from yesterday.  I am entering this tag into the Gift Tag Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

My Crafty Weekend, So Far

Happy Easter to all my friends who celebrate.  Things around here are pretty quiet.  Not much to do but craft on Easter weekend if you are Jewish.  I decided I'd better take a break, post what I have made, and clean up.  It's a pretty nice day here, so I think we will all head down to the beach for a nice walk later.

First up is a baby card that I made with my new Hello Foxy set as well as some paper scraps from Echo Park Hello Summer.   This card is for Retro Sketches rs#57 and Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes.  I did a little paper piecing on the fox, and the heart is popped up and covered with Glossy Accents.

Next up, another baby card, this one for this week's Dynamic Duos DD# 46.  I used Autumn Rose as my deep pink, and Memento Angel Pink for my 2nd color choice.  I was inspired by this card by Christina.  I used Watercolor Wonder for the stripes, and Whale Wishes for everything else.

One more card for Dynamic Duos.  This time, my 2nd color choice was Simply Chartreuse.  I wanted to play around with my new Waltzingmouse Camellia set that I won.

Next up is another card inspired by Christina.  I am linking up to this week's ColourQ cQc #182 and the Chevon Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  I've got chevrons on my Happy Harlequins, and they are stamped in a chevron pattern--double chevrons today.  This card is also for this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge to use a shape repeatedly on a one layer card.

My next card is for this week's CASology week 37, where the key word is 'hope'.  I used Amuse Fight Like A Girl and Paper Smooches Hope to make this card I hope I never have to use. Edited to add--bummer, I missed the CASology deadline...

My last three cards use the technique taught in this week's Make it Monday #109:  Watercolor Stamping Plus Embossing.  This technique is harder than Betsy makes it look in the video.  Lots of my inks ran together to create a funny shade of brown.  But, I did get it work a few times on some die cuts, so those were the ones I used to create my cards.

This card uses Hibiscus Burst and Winter Wisteria.  I omitted the white embossing on the smaller buds, because there would have been almost no color showing if I didn't.

These next two cards use Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet and Hawaiian Shores.

Well, that's it for me for this weekend, so far.  I'm not going to type up all the supplies, but please let me know if you have any questions.
