Time Out #65...Reminder...Everything Will Be Okay

Hello...There is still time to play with the current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is 'inspired by words'.

'Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year."  --Chad Sugg

I focused on the leaves and message of encouragement for my reminder card this week.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Rema, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  CAS-ual Friday's is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Time Out #41 Reminder....Happy Thanksgiving

Hello.  Did you know that you still have time to play along with us at  Time Out.  This week, our challenge is Inspired by Words.  We have this quote by American poet William Cullen Bryant:

"Autumn...the year's last, lovliest smile."

I inked up PTI's Brushed Off in a variety of fall colors, then added a sentiment and die cut leaves. This quote inspired me to use fall colors and to make a card that should bring a smile to the recipient.

Quick and easy (especially if you overlook the tiny smudge...)  This card will accompany one of the Thanksgiving baskets I usually make for the homebound elderly.  I am pretty sure they will forgive the smudge, because I do not have time for a redo this week.

I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us this week.  Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and our guest designer, Glenda of My Paper Cat.

I am also linking this up at Simon Says Monday challenge: Autumn is in the Air.

PTI August 2015 Blog Hop

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post with exciting news, please click here.

Today, I am playing along with the Papertrey August Blog Hop.  We were given this photo as inspiration.

Although it is still summer here in San Diego and will feel like summer basically the rest of the year, this picture made me think of fall.  Warm fall colors and fuzzy sweaters in particular.  I pulled out an older fall set, Autumn Acorns, and stamped a panel of leaves inspired by the colors in the photo.

After my stamping was done, I die cut the word 'happy' and then stacked it up and inlaid the stack back into my stamped panel.  I stamped 'anniversary' from Everyday Happiness and I was done. Both my siblings have anniversaries around Labor Day weekend, so this card will go off to one of them in a week of so.

Enjoy the rest of the hop.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Saturday.  I have a super quick post today with a card I made using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the colors at ColourQ.

My leaves are from Leaf Prints, the sentiment is from Autumn Acorns, and the patterned paper is Bo Bunny.

5 Cards for Challenges

.

Hi there and happy Wednesday.  I've got a card for this week's Make it Monday #180:  Stamping Ombre Backgrounds.  I loved Laura's background so much that I decided to try to make it myself.  I pulled out the same stamp set and inks and set to work.  I don't think mine came out as nicely as hers, but I am still pleased.

I was inspired by this card by Taheerah and wanted to try embossing in gold using embossing paste.  Honestly, I don't know why it never occurred to me that one could emboss with embossing paste.  You would have thought that I would have clued in when I heard the word ...'emboss'.  Anyway, I loved Taheerah's card and used my SSS Falling Snow Stencil with gold embossing powder to make my card.  I am entering this card at Virginia's View Challenge #9:  All Things Metallic.

When I saw Cristina's tag this morning on Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags, I knew I wanted to do something just like it for The Card Concept #23:  Krafty Christmas challenge.  I will put my card in the Clean and Layered category.

Last up are two cards that use the fabulous sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #99 and the fall colors at ColourQ #267.  I made a plaid strip using WMS Offbeat Backgrounds and then die cut and stamped the leaves and acorns from Autumn Acorns.

Well, that's it for me today.  Need to dash off to pick up my girls at school.

Card Drives (Part 4)

Happy Sunday.  I have been crafting for a couple of days, and decided I'd better post my cards before the challenges end.  I've got two tags for this week's Tag You're It challenge. I was inspired by Leigh's diagonal patterned paper and her use of die cut words.

I turned my tags into cards, and will be entering them at Addicted to CAS with the code word : TAG.

I used the beautiful color scheme on the left for this week's Colour Me for my next card.

Edited to add that I am linking up to the current challenge at Time Out--Birds of a Feather Flock Together.  (Thanks, Sandie).

The topping this week at Seize the Birthday is Washi Tape, so I broke into my newest washi tape purchase from SU to make this card.

I'm playing along at the Card Concept Thank Fall challenge with my next card.  I took a few Distress inks and created a stamped panel using leaves from Autumn Acorns.  Then, I sliced the panel and created 2 cards.

I used this sketch from RetroSketches to create my next card.

All of these cards also satisfy requirements for various challenges in the Hope You Can Cling To card drive at SCS, and I will be sending them all to MD Anderson Cancer Center.  This last card is also part of the HYCCT drive, but not for any other challenges.

That's it for me today.  I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend, especially that extra hour that we gained.

Give Thanks

I feel very lucky that my 14 year old daughter is still willing to hang out with me (sometimes), especially when I am in crafting mode.  This weekend, she wanted to make a card together that we would put in one of the Thanksgiving baskets our Temple is collecting for the needy elderly.  She wanted to color a card with copics--and have me do everything else.

Here is what we came up with:

Here is a peek at the inside:

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Friendship Jar Fell Fillers, Autumn Acorns
Paper:  Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado, White, Heidi Grace patterned
Other:  Dies:  Friendship Jar, Mat Stack #4, Photo Finishers, Copic Markers

Papertrey October Blog Hop Card #2

This is my second card for this month's Papertrey Blog Hop.  You can see my first card here.  I really liked my first card, but after I looked at the card and the inspiration photo together, I didn't think that the card was close enough to the photo.  So, I looked at the photo again, and this time the photo said something different to me.  First, it said "Are you sure you don't have pumpkin stamps?  Go check."  Then, it said "Paper piece those pumpkins." I don't know why I didn't see that the first go round, because it seems so obvious now.

The most fun part about making this card was going through my stash of PTI patterned papers, looking for papers that would work.  The least fun part was the actually cutting and piecing.  That was a lot of work.  Paper piecing is officially on my 'only occasionally' list of techniques.  What papers can you spot?  (answer below)

Supplies Used (PTI)
Stamps:  Friendship Jar Fall Fillers, Autumn Acorns
Paper:  Rustic White, Simply Chartreuse, Fall Prints and Patterns, In Bloom, Distressed Dots, Bitty Box, Bitty Dots, Road Trip

Papertrey October Blog Hop Card #1

Today, I am playing along with Papertrey's October Blog HopWe were challenged to make a card based on this inspiration photo. I loved the picture, and thought about what I saw:  pumpkins (which I didn't think I had), acorns--which I have, fall colors, green polka dots, and three main focal points.

Here is the card I came up with:

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Autumn Acorns, Mat Stack #1
Paper:  Rustic White, Simply Chartreuse, Fall Prints and Patterns
Other:  Dies:  Autumn Acorns, Mat Stack #1, Photo Finishers
