Weekend Recap

As the weekend winds down, I am here to post 3 of the cards that I made.  First up is the last card I made, but perhaps my favorite--I had a lot of fun with it.

I was inspired by the photo at Time Out, where they are celebrating their first birthday with Challenge #26.  I was inspired by the frames, the colors, and the beadboard that I saw behind those frames.  I used WPlus9 and Hero Arts inks in colors matching the photo--with the exception that I switched the pink to more of a red because I wanted to make a masculine card.  I stamped a variety of frames from Label Basics and then filled them in with various birthday sentiments.  I scored lines every 1/2 inch across the card front before adhering my front panel with foam tape.

The fun part was selecting the sentiments.  I used sentiments from the following sets:
PTI:  Mat Stack 3, Peaceful Garden, and Tiny Treats Birthday: Hero Arts Birthday Messages, and Waltzingmouse Eat Cake.  I was able to find all those sentiments pretty quickly because I stamp all my sentiments into a sentiment binder--I turned to the Birthday section, and I could see which sentiments might fit each frame.

A peek at 2 pages of my sentiment binder
I am also entering this card at Just Us Girls #283 where the challenge is Masculine, and Seize the Birthday where the topping is Masculine.

Next up is a card that uses the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #113 and is also inspired by the current challenge at The Card Concept #30.  I believe my style on this card is Clean and Layered.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps #134 where the challenge is CAS, CAS on Sunday #53 where the challenge is Girl Power, and Simon Says Wednesday Girly Challenge.

Last up is a card where I tried the ink layering technique that Jennifer McGuire shows in this video. I used a Hero Arts stencil on Soft Sky paper, inking first with white pigment ink and then with Blueberry Sky dye ink after slightly offsetting the stencil.  And, yes, I'm still playing around with Frilly Flowers.

I am entering this card at RetroSketches #156, ColourQ #282CAS on Sunday #53 where the challenge is Girl Power, and Simon Says Wednesday Girly Challenge.

That's it for me today.

Three New Cards

Hooray for having some crafty time today.  I have three cards to share, and it was very fun to play in some old favorite challenges and some new ones, too.

My first card uses the sketch from Fusion and colors from Color Throwdown ctd303

My next card uses the sketch at RetroSketches #126 and the colors from Team Hayley at ColourMe #31.   My colors are SU Strawberry Slush, PTI Lemon Tart and PTI Harvest Gold.  I am also playing along for the first time at CAS  on Sunday where the challenge is butterfly.

This last card is for The Cutting Edge #6 (where I loved Amy's card so much I practically made the same one myself with my new PTI popsicle set) and Seize the Birthday without the yellow toppings.

I am also entering all three of these cards at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.

PTI June 2014 Blog Hop

I am popping in with a very quick card for this month's PTI Blog Hop.  I am out of town this week, but still wanted to participate, so I scheduled this post before I left on my trip.

I used a sketch and a color scheme for my inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.  I'll be around to visit you when I am back next week.

A Card Set and Another Mini Notebook

I promised to show you what was in this gift bag I posted yesterday, so I am back with some photos for you.  I followed a tutorial I saw on the Reverse Confetti blog to make this card set.  I used the same color scheme as the card from ColourQ #244 and added texture to my stamped panels, so am entering this card set at Addicted to CAS #39.

I used Reverse Confetti Lots to Say for the sentiment, Waltzingmouse Simple Sprig for the flowers, and Lawn Fawn Penelope's Garden for the leaves.

Attempt #2 for this week's Make it Monday #167 to make a mini notebook was a little more successful.  I put a couple of layers of rubber cement on the edge of the paper stack, before using Scor Tape to put it all together.  I think that little bit of magic helped a lot.  I am also entering this into Simon Says Monday Magic challenge.

My colors are from this week's ColourMe #23 Monochromatic Coastal Cabana, my sentiment is Think Big, and the images are from Oopsy Daisy.  I used white, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal papers and inks.

That's it for me today.  I hope you are not sick of this week's ColourQ colors, because I have some more cards for tomorrow using a stamped panel I made for this card set, but then rejected.
