Three Cards

Hello and happy Sunday.  I think I am starting to get my crafty mojo back.  Such fun.  I'll start with this Father's Day card for my husband who loves to cook.  I fell in love with these little Kitchen Tools dies from Hero Arts, and paired them with a white embossed background from Kitchen Shelf by Hero Arts.

I am entering this card at Stay Crafty with a Blog Named Hero May: Get Scrappy (the tools and crock are all cut from paper scraps), Addicted to Stamps and More #429: Occasion (Father's Day), Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Add Texture, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it Up.

Next up I pulled out some oldies but goodies from PTI for this card.  I used dies from Life is Beautiful and Crackle and Birch background stamps to create my card using a pattern stamp for the What Do I Do With This challenge from PTI.  I am also entering this card at Just Us Girls #633, CAS on Friday #231: Butterflies, Addicted to Stamps and More #429: Occasion (Mother's Day), and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it Up.

Last up is a card with these cute kitties from Mama Elephant Little Line Agenda.  I fussy cut around the tops of the kitties, and then popped that panel up over a polka dotted panel I created using the lightest shades of BG and R copics.  I am entering this card at Color Hues #41 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it Up.

CASology Week #290...Abstract

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is ABSTRACT.   Before starting my card, I turned to the dictionary.  This is what I found:

ab·stract
adjective
abˈstrakt,ˈabˌstrakt/
  1. 1.
existing in thought or as an idea but not having a physical or concrete existence.

"abstract concepts such as love or beauty"

    synonyms:theoreticalconceptualnotionalintellectualmetaphysicalidealphilosophicalacademic;
    rareideational
    "abstract concepts"

Ok, that was helpful.  I decided to focus on the abstract concept of beauty.

Now it's your turn.  How does ABSTRACT inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Happy Little Stampers Case The Designer August 2016...Wishing You a Beautiful Day

Hello and happy August.  I'm here to post a card for Happy Little Stampers Case the Designer challenge.

Our inspiration this month is provided by Gloria.  Take a look at this gorgeous inspiration card.

I was inspired by Gloria's masking, as well as how she placed her sentiment in the white space of her focal point.

I created a mask of a butterfly using computer paper, and then stamped many overlapping butterflies all around my card front.  When I removed the mask, I had a nice white butterfly shaped space to put my sentiment.

Our challenge will run for the entire month of August.  I hope you will play along.  Please head over to the Happy Little Stampers Case the Designers blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

PTI Blog Hop June 2015

Happy Saturday.  I am sneaking away from my house guests to quickly post a card I made earlier this week for the Papertrey Blog Hop.  I was inspired by the butterflies, the gold, and the pinkish/.purplish color.  I finally bought a Misti and was so very happy to be able to stamp these butterflies multiple times to get a really nice image.

Happy hopping.  I'll be around later when my house guests are gone.

Sunday Recap

Hello and happy Sunday.  I hope you all had a nice weekend.  Mine was crazy busy yesterday, getting Rachel all ready for her prom.  Today has been much quieter, with time to make some cards.

First up is a card using Clearly Besotted Flight of Fancy (for the first time).  I inked the largest butterfly up with a Kaleidacolor Caribbean Sea ink pad.  As I was following the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #120, I stencilled an area for the butterfly to rest using a Dreamweaver Mesh Stencil and Weathered Wood Distress ink.  I am also entering this card at Happy Little Stampers Stencil challenge.

Another butterfly, this one from PTI Life is Beautiful, inspired by the beautiful sample at Muse #114. I must confess to sticking pretty close to the original, as I could not see any way to improve it.

I am entering this card at Inkspirational #81:  Space.  I am using the negative space in the lavender rectangle with my butterfly and Seize the Birthday without toppings.

I am entering both of these butterfly cards at Uniko #20:  Things with Wings.

My last card for today uses the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #183 and is inspired by the colors and graphics at the Ellen Hutson Pinsights Challenge.

Finally, I will be entering all three of these cards at Addicted to Stamps and More #141: Anything Goes and Simon Says Wednesday Clean and Simple challenge.

Guest Designer at Colour Me...! Monochromatic: CMCC#61

Hello and happy Wednesday.  I am so pleased announce that I am the Guest Designer at Colour Me...! for the month of March.  The official color this week is Tangelo Twist, and I used PTI Orange Fizz, which is the best match I had.  Because the orange is so bright, I decided to use it sparingly, more as an accent color.  I've used it as a border on my card front and also as the base of my butterfly, where I've softened it with a layer of vellum.

I hope you will play along this week at Colour Me...!

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:   CAS on Sunday #53 where the challenge is Girl Power, and Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge is Girly.

With Deepest Sympathy

Hello and happy Friday.  I'm here with a quick post with a card for the first day of PTI's 8th anniversary celebration.

I masked off a rectangle, and used a stamp from Ombre Builders to fill the space.  I die cut 2 butterflies from Life is Beautiful--one in Aqua Mist and one in Vellum, adhered them with a skinny bit of score tape just in the middle, and stamped my sentiment from Words of Comfort on a Double Ended Banner die.  I used white pearls that I colored with a Copic Marker to decorate the center of the butterfly and also to hide the adhesive.  I ran my front panel through my Big Shot once with the Canvas/Linen Impression Plate and then again with the LID Side Stitched Rectangle die.

I also ended up rotating the sketch.
