A Birthday Card and Snow in my Craft Room

Happy Tuesday everyone.  We are on the countdown to winter break, and I think I am looking forward to it as much as my daughters.  Even though we don't celebrate Christmas, it will still be nice to have some lazy days with less running around.

I have a card today for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch CTS #57, using the colors from this week's ColourQ cQc #220.  I am also submitting to this week's Simon Says Monday Challenge to use a stamp.

I pulled out an old favorite for this card--Hello Friend--remember that one?  I love these flowers and the way the sentiment is incorporated into the flower image.

It may be a sunny 74 degrees outside here in San Diego, but in my craft room, it's all about the snow.  I have another tag set here, this one using one of my favorite images from Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers, as well as a style I have been seeing a lot of lately--two tags layered--a stamped top layer and a patterned paper layer peeking out from under.  I am entering these tags into the following challenges:  Curtain Call:  Sweet Snowflakes, CAS-ual Fridays CFC 123:  Let it Snow, Addicted to CAS:  Snowflakes, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Let it Snow and Simon Says Monday Challenge to use a stamp.

I'll be back later to post the supplies.

Paper Smooches Designer Drafts and CAS(E) This Sketch #9

I am posting with a heavy heart today, grieving for the victims and their families in Connecticut.  It is a hard thing to understand, and even harder to explain to my children.  I spent much of today crafting in the company of my oldest daughter, seeming to need to be at her side all day.  My youngest is off this weekend at a soccer tournament with her father, and they seem to be checking in more frequently than usual.

I do have some happy cards to share today.  The first one is for this week's Paper Smooches Designer Drafts challenge.   Here is the sketch:

I had to break out my newest PS set, Woofers and Tweeters.  These dogs sure are cute. I've got the smallest dog in the pack precariously perched atop a pile of hearts to give his best pal a bone.

Now, on to this week's CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#9.

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use this hanging snowflake stamp from PTI Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers.  The scale was too small, so I masked a bit to get the hanging parts longer, and I used a smaller panel for my focal point.

Last of all, here are some more tags for my holiday treats:

CASology #17

I have a card for this week's CASology #17.  The cue word is 'sugar', and I immediately thought of candy.  Perhaps, that is because I made this card on Halloween--but the candy I was thinking about was candy canes.  Yum!

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers, Hero Arts Envelope Background
Paper:  White, True Black, patterned paper from my scrap box, but is probably MME
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, London Fog, Color Box Fresh Green
Other:  Dies:  Friendship Jar, Tiny Tags, Edger, Twinery twine, Copic T1 Marker, Prismacolor Pencils

Let it Snow

I promise this is my last holiday card for the year.  I've got one more card before I hit the maximum allowed entries into the St. Luke's Charity Card Challenge.  This card, plus a bunch of general occasion cards that I have culled from my stash, will be sent into St. Luke's to help them fund their operations.  I must admit, the idea that someone might actually pay money (pounds, at that) for one of my cards is kind of exciting.  And, if that money can help those in need, all the better.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Friendship Jar and Holiday Fillers
Paper:  Misc Bazzil Colors
Other:  SU Punch, Friendhip Jar Lid die, Sizzix embossing folder
