HB2U

Happy Fourth of July everyone.  It seems as though it is warm and sunny everywhere except where I live today.  We had a bit of drizzle this morning, and now it is overcast and a bit chilly.  Perfect weather for hitting a movie and crafting, but not what I expected for July Fourth in Southern California.

I have two cards today for a couple of challenges.  The design is cased from this card by Laura Bassen of Doublestick Heaven.

I used Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Spring Rain and Enchanted Evening in my first card for this week's ColourQ #144 challenge.   I used one of the images in my new Lawn Fawn Belinda's Borders set to create my tiny chevron pattern.  I would also like to thank the kind judges from ColourQ for selecting this card last week as a ColourQ Courtier.

ColourQ

This next card is for this week's Make it Monday #73:  Stamping on Patterned Paper.  I stamped a variety of images from some of the different Flower Fusion sets in Kraft, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy, and Ripe Avocado onto one of the sheets from Father Knows Best.

Make it Monday

Here is a close-up, which shows the patterned paper better.

I will be sending these cards off  St. Luke's, as their challenge this month is cards for teenagers, and my 14 year old assured me that these cards are cool enough for any teen.

Dynamic Duos #9 & St. Luke's

This week's challenge for Dynamic Duos is to use Crumb Cake and a color of your choice.  I chose red, as I love the combination of red and kraft.  They also have this handy chart showing allowable neutrals, and I took advantage of it this week, to add black and grey to my card.  I based this card on something I had done earlier here.

I will be sending this card off  St. Luke's, as their challenge this month is cards for teenagers, and I think this one fits the bill.  I always think of Grunge me when I think of making a card for teens.  I think this could go for a girl or a boy.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Grunge Me, Simple Circles, Think Big, Impression Obsession Distressed Corduroy
Paper:  Kraft, White, Smokey Shadow, Pure Poppy
Ink:  Kraft, Pure Poppy, Amuse Slate, Memento Tuxedo Black

Waltzingmouse March Blog Party

It's the 17th, and that means that I get to go to the Waltzingmouse Blog Party.  Yay!  The theme this month is ST. PATRICK'S DAY/IRISH/GREEN.  I have ordered a bunch of new WM stamps, but they are not here yet.  That means that you need to bear with me for just one more month while I make do with what I own, beg, borrow and steal (OK, I have not stolen anything, yet).  For this challenge, I used a lot of green, and had to get creative with what I had on hand, which is Eat Cake, Cameo to Go, and Off Beat Backgrounds.  I used something from each of those sets to come up with my card.

I am also entering this card into the St. Luke's Charity Card Challenge Spring into Spring

Sweet Spring

I've got two cards for this month's Paper Dolls Challenge #46:  Spring Bling.  I used this week's CR84FN50 challenge colors of Pink, Orange and Yellow.  I finally broke into my Raspberry Fizz patterned paper pack, and boy is that paper gorgeous.  I think I'm going to be using this paper a lot, and I can't wait to collect all the colors.  I used Gina K white for both of these cards, as I colored the flowers with Copic, and didn't want the bleed to show through the card.

I wasn't sure which layout to go with, so I made one of each.  I think I prefer the top one.  Which do you prefer?

I'm also entering these cards into this month's St. Luke's Charity Card Challenge Spring into Spring

Please stop by our Paper Dolls blog and add your "Spring Bling" card.  There is some fabulous blog candy to be won, provided by the ever-generous Renee.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Sweet Spring
Paper:  Gina K White, Raspberry Fizz Patterns
Other:  Nestie Circle, Memory Box Window Box, Twine, Button

Hopping and Springing into Spring

I've got a couple of cards for you today, using Frog Hop and my new Poppers die.

This first card is for a little boy named Larry, who was recently diagnosed with pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Laurie Winterton emailed some of us to let us know that she's collecting cards for Larry; he has nearly 4 years of treatment ahead of him, but the prognosis for his type of leukemia is good. If anyone is interested in sending him cards, I've included the mailing address below. You can read more about him on his blog, here. Consistent with rules for other card drives, I would like to recommend that there be no get well cards, or mention of anything that reminds him of being sick. Please send cards to:

Larry R.
9772 E Paseo Del Tornasol
Tucson, AZ 85747
Laurie said her goal was 100 cards...and I think we can get way more than that! What do you think?

Leap for the Sky

I thought a frog with big googlie eyes might be fun for a little boy.  And, a couple more frogs chasing flies to pop out at him when he opens up the card:

My next frog card is for this month's St. Luke's Charity Card Challenge Spring into Spring.  This card will be donated to raise money for their hospice.

Let it Snow

I promise this is my last holiday card for the year.  I've got one more card before I hit the maximum allowed entries into the St. Luke's Charity Card Challenge.  This card, plus a bunch of general occasion cards that I have culled from my stash, will be sent into St. Luke's to help them fund their operations.  I must admit, the idea that someone might actually pay money (pounds, at that) for one of my cards is kind of exciting.  And, if that money can help those in need, all the better.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Friendship Jar and Holiday Fillers
Paper:  Misc Bazzil Colors
Other:  SU Punch, Friendhip Jar Lid die, Sizzix embossing folder

Tremendous Treats

I've got a few snowy cards today.  This first one is for this month's St. Luke's Charity "Let it Snow" Challenge.  It is a case of this card that my niece made when she was visiting. This card will be donated to St. Luke's.

This cute little snowman got a paper pieced scarf and hat out of Candy Cane patterned paper.  This card was sent to a foster shelter as part of a card drive I learned about here.

I am in love with penguins these days, and I just adore this little guy in his paper pieced scarf.  All of these cards are based on this card by Euna from Eunalicious.  This card may just sit on my desk all year!

A Wonderfully Whimsical Landscape

I've got a card today for the  St. Luke's Charity "Let it Snow" Challenge.  This season, I have been admiring cards made with the Memory Box Country Landscape Die.  For example, this card, or this card by Jenny at Crafting in the Country.  Unfortunately, I guess I am the last to the party because this die seems to be sold out everywhere.  I'm sure I will be able to get one by next December, but what to do now?

Improvise.  I used my In the Meadow dies along with my Wonderfully Whimsical stamp set to create my own whimsical country landscape.  I'll be donating this card to St. Luke's for their fundraiser.  I hope someone fun buys it.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Wonderfully Whimsical, Tremendous Treats Christmas, Winter Penguin
