Happy Little Stamper November Sketch Challenge

It is time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch we have for you this month:

I used some papers from an older Echo Park pad along with PTI Deck the Halls stamps and dies for my card.

Please visit the Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge blog for more ideas and inspiration for this sketch.  I hope you will play along.  You have the entire month of November.

Joyful Holiday Greetings

I am popping in quickly to share two cards I made this week for Make it Monday #226:  Creating with Stripes.  I die cut and stamped a bunch of the penguins, polar bears and birds in Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides and Pure Poppy from the Holiday Folk kit and then played around with the colors until I had something I liked.  Because I am indecisive, I ended up making two cards.

Muse #91

Hi there.   I am playing along with Muse #91, where Michele has challenged us to choose a single sheet of designer paper and make a trio of cards.  Just look at what Michele did.  Isn't it stunning?

I went through my 12 X12 stash and selected a sheet I had been hoarding because of how much I loved it.  My paper is Bella Blvd. Christmas Countdown City Sidewalks.

Could I really cut into it?  Yes, I did.  Ha ha--my secret trick is that I bought 2 sheets--one to use and one to hoard.  Here is my trio of holiday cards.

I think this one might be my favorite.  I cut out some of the house and tree images from the paper and created a scene with my Mama Elephant stitched border dies and a sentiment from PTI.

A simple row of houses cut from the paper nestled between a Pure Poppy border and another PTI sentiment.

And last, another row of houses with a different PTI sentiment.  That polka dotted paper at the top is the back side of the pattern paper I used.

This was a really fun challenge, and I am glad that I decided to actually use a piece of paper I had been hoarding.  I am also entering these cards at Christmas Card Challenges Anything Goes.

One Quick Card

I have a quick card for today that works for several challenges:  ColourQ cQc #213 for colors, Simon Says Wednesday Halloween or Halloween colors--I pick Halloween colors, Addicted to CAS:  One Layer and the Caring Hearts Card Drive

Paper:  White

Happy Halloween and Happy Holidays

My first card today is for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch CTS #50--when I saw this card on Tracey's blog, it reminded me that I bought these fabulous 'trick or treat' dies and never used them.  Well, at least, now I have used them once.  I used some black dimensional foam squares to pop everything up.  I knew that those black squares would come in handy one day.

I'd better make sure to mail this card, since I lined an envelope to match.  The green and black paper is from an old Martha Stewart Halloween pad, and it is glittery and textured.

My next two cards are holiday cards that will be added to the stash I am making for this year's Caring Hearts Card Drive.  I am also entering both of them into the Simon Says...Christmas/Happy Holidays Wednesday Challenge.

First up is a card with a little country scene, for this week's CASology cue card 'country'.  I loved the sponging I saw on this inspiration card, and just had to break out my brand new Mama Elephant Winter Wonderland stamps.

Last up today is a card using this week's ColourQ cQc #212 colors.  I know I am supposed to be thinking Halloween, as these colors are perfect for this holiday--and that cute image.  But, I wanted to do something else.  Inspired by this card I saw this morning by Laura Bassen, I strung up some holiday lights.  I put a dab of stickles into the white spot on every light.  If I have time later in the week, I'll come back to this challenge with something for Halloween.

CASology #57, Make it Monday #129, and a Sympathy Card

As soon as I saw the cue word 'Picnic' for this week's CASology challenge, I knew just which stamp set I would use.  Would you believe that I bought Vintage Picnic over 3 years ago, and am only just using it now.  Shame on me, right?

My next card today is for this week's Make it Monday #129:  White Crayon Resist.  When I started making this card, I had something completely different in mind.  But, when my daughter saw my stamped panel, she asked why I was making a snowflake card in August.  I saw that she was right--the flowers colored with white crayons against the Spring Rain sponged background looked like snowflakes.  So, I went with it, and turned it into a holiday card.  I added stamped centers in Blueberry Sky ink and Ice Stickles.

Sometimes I forget that I can make a card just because I want to.  Do you ever do that?  I felt like trying out my new Meadow Greens set, and my sympathy card stash is a little depleted, so that is what I did for my third card.

I will be entering all three of these cards in this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Make the Cut.

Cloud9 December Blog Hop and Lawnscaping #47

I'm back today with another card for this month's Cloud9 December Blog Hop.  I am still using the same inspiration picture, but this time I used it to make something with my new Quilt Cuts Dies.

I keyed off the red snowflakes and the kraft color of the chairs, as well as the warm and caring feeling to the room.  As I have run out of sympathy cards, that is what I made for this challenge entry.

I also have a card for Lawnscaping Challenge #47, which is a color challenge featuring turquoise (Hawaiian Shores), Kraft and Red.

I used my new Lawn Fawn Sweet Christmas set to make a happy little winter scene.

This card will be sent to a sweet little boy named Sebastian, who is battling some major medical issues, that I just read about this morning.  When I made this card yesterday, I didn't quite know what I would do with it.  Well, after reading about Sebastian, I decided to send this card to him.  If you would like to participate in this card drive, please click here to get to Amy Tsurata's blog or here for Ginger's blog to learn more.

Holiday Cards

I don't have a Christmas tree, but who says I can't have any ornaments?  I was in Michaels the other day, and spotted a Hero Arts ornament set on sale for 40% off.  So, now I have some ornaments.  I used this set to make a card for this week's CASology #22, where the key word is Sparkle.  When I came up with this idea, I actually thought the key word was Shiny, so I thought I'd fussy cut the ornaments and then coat them with a few layers of UTEE.   Slight change in plans to accommodate the actual key word--I still used UTEE, but stamped all the ornaments with Versamark Dazzle--so they are sparkly and shiny, too.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the ornaments are glossy and shimmery.

I also planned to enter this card in this month's Hero Arts challenge, but I can't seem to find the link.  If you know where that challenge is, please let me know.

My next card is for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #8, where the challenge is to make a card in 10 minutes or less featuring red.  I made this card in 9 minutes, 23 seconds.  I have been wanting to make a Damask Snowflake impressed with the Mehndi Medallion plate ever since I saw it done on this card by Kelly at Notable Nest

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp, where the challenge is snowflakes.

I planned to use some glitter, too, but ran out of time, since I was doing a 10 minute challenge.  So, after I took that picture, I used my glue pen to apply some Martha Stewart Garnet glitter to the snowflakes, as instructed by Erin in this week's Make it Monday #94:Detail Glitter Technique.

Here is the card after I put the glitter on:
