2 Cards for 3 Challenges

The cue card for this week's CASology #21 is 'TIME'.  All I could think about was--Party Time!  I don't know why.  Nothing says 'party' like balloons, right?

I used this week's Color Throwdown CTD220 colors, which I interpreted as PTI Hawaiian Shores, White, Limeade Ice, and Pure Poppy.

And, here is my second entry for this week's Make it Monday #93:  Splitting Die Cuts.  Special thanks to Kim for her inspiring card here.

Make it Monday--Take 2

I have another card for this week's Make it Monday #70:  Puffed Fabric Accents.  You will not be surprised to know that the idea for this card came to me in spin class.  I had to go back to the quilting store to find fabric with a small enough pattern that would work as wheels to the bicycle from Everyday Button Bits.  Lucky for me, the quilting store is down the street from the Y where I take my spinning class.

The Fabric

Paper:  White, Smokey Shadow Patterns, Plum Pudding, Winter Wisteria, unknown SU blue

Happy Mother's Day

I found some time to get crafty today, and was able to make two Mother's Day cards.  I am entering both of them into this week's CAS-ual Fridays CFC50: April Showers Bring May Flowers.

My first card ATTEMPTS to use the techniques explained by Nicole in this week's Make it Monday #64:  Using Color Inspiration.   I am happy with the way this card looks, but please do not look too closely to find three instances of each color.  I think I flunked that part.  Here is the beautiful color inspiration I chose to work with.

Pretty Peonies

I was very happy to pull out my brand new Pretty Peonies set as well as some Winter Wisteria ink for this card.  I don't think my mom will realize that there are only 2 instances of Plum Pudding, do you?

For this next card, I was inspired by some cards I saw on Heather Nichols post here when the Button Bits series was featured the other day.  I pulled out my Everday Button Bits set to create this card.

Clean and Simple: Simple Embellishments

Day six is all about creating simple embellishments.  On my first card I created a cute little hot air balloon out of three punched circles.  I first saw this technique here on Gayatri's card, and I pinned it because I wanted to try it some day.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card:

Encouragement for a Triathlon: Biking

One of my best friends is training for her first triathalon.  She is training with 'Team in Training' and is competing to honor her brother, who recently won his battle with lymphoma.  You can find out more here.

This is the second in a series of cards I am sending her.  The first card was to encourage her for her 10k run.  This card is to encourage her for the 40k bike ride.  The last card will be to honor her 1.5 k ocean swim.

Here is the card I made for her:

One of the interests she and I share is reading, so I made her a matching bookmark to use during those spare moments when she is not training.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Everyday Button Bits, All Star Team Additions, Polka Dot Basics II
Paper:  PTI:  Orange Zest, Ocean Tides, Road Trip, Fine Linen
