CASology Week #181: Clear

This is my second post for today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post,  please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.  This week, our cue word is Clear.  I thought of a little Lawn Fawn set I have called Clear To See, and it is full of eye glasses. My card just evolved from there.  I made a border of eye glasses, and then paired them with a sentiment stamp from Penny Black.  I  love this little eye chart.

Now, it's your turn.  How does Clear inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by STAMPlorations.

Lawnscaping, Simon Says, and ColourQ

Hi there.  I learned today that Simon Says Stamps has two challenge blogs--both with fabulous prizes.  How could I not have known that?  Did you know that?

I have a card for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge No. 50:  Winter Wonderland,  Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog:  Let's Get Paper Piecing, and Simon Says Stamp and Show:  What Are You Known For?    My card uses several Lawnscaping Sets to create a wintry scene, is paper pieced with Handmade by Lily Bee papers, and features an Owl (of course, as that is what I think I am known for).  I just love that itty bitty snowflake, from Sweet Christmas.

My next card uses this weeks ColourQ challenge cQc #173, which I interpreted into PTI colors as Terracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush, Kraft and Vintage Cream.  I must be honest and say that I was not in love with these colors.  However, I did like the skirt, so thought perhaps I could make them work on a card.  I've had this Penny Black I chart stamp for quite a while, and wanted to pair it with Lawn Fawn's Clear to see, just like Kim did here.

I started by stamping a random pattern of eye glasses in Terracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise, and Kraft.

Here is the card.  I am also entering this card into the Moxie Fab Challenge #49:  Make Your Own Background Paper.

Clear To See: An International Party

How can a stamp set that sells for less than $10 lead to a party of international proportions?  I honestly don't know, but that is what is happening today. I recently bought Lawn Fawn's Clear To See stamp set because I thought the glasses were just too cute.

My friends Elena from Just Me. and Gayatri from Handmade by G3, and I are having a 'Clear to See' party, spanning the globe from Canada to Australia to the United States.

Here is what I made with the set:

Come join our party!  Stop by Elena's and Gayatri's blog to check out what they have made with this little set.  If you have this set and want to join the party, post something and send us a link in the comments.

A few notes:  The glasses are always blue because my youngest daughter wears blue glasses.  I imagine giving these cards to her at some point.  She also loves owls, and what is cuter than an owl wearing blue glasses?   Inspiration for the layout of the last two cards was from Leigh and from Laurie.

Supplies Used:

First 2 Cards:
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Clear to See, PTI Label Basics
Paper:  PTI White
Other:  PTI Angled Label Die

Second 2 Cards:
Stamps Lawn Fawn Clear to See, PTI:  Background Basics Text, Half and Half, Hero Arts Envelope Pattern
Paper:  PTI:  Vintage Cream, Ocean Tides, MME Away We Go
Other:  SU Owl Punch, PTI Dies:  Half and Half, Fillable Frames, Angled Label

Be Unique!

Today, I am playing along with Cas-ual Friday's CFC #26 as well as the Play Date Cafe PDCC105.  I wasn't sure about those colors at first, but the photo was just so yummy, I decided to try anyway.  I interpreted the colors to be PTI Kraft, Blueberry Sky and Fine Linen.  I also used Colorbox Cerulean Blue ink.  Since the CAS-Friday challenge sponsor is Lawn Fawn, I decided to use my only (so far) Lawn Fawn set, Clear to See.

All the eyeglass images are embosssed with clear ep.  I used a Hero Arts Envelope background stamp on the card base, and PTI Background Basics Text on the blue oval.
