Today is a very special day--it's Kim's birthday. Kylie has organized a special and secret birthday linky party on her blog. Hop on over and help Kim celebrate in style.
You can also stop by Kim's blog, Cupcakes, Cards and Kim and leave Kim some birthday love.
How about some cake--vanilla is Kim's favorite.
And, of course, the birthday card.
I made this card using a distress ink lifting technique I saw here. Quite often, a technique works for the person making the video, but not for me.
I am happy to report that this technique actually worked and gave me this cool effect, where I was able to lighten the ink inside the flowers. The flowers are from Lil Inker Inky Flowers and the sentiment is Mama Elephant.
I am linking this card up at Seize the Birthday The Great Divide and The Card Concept #51 Naturally Pink, where my card is Clean and Layered.
Please head over to Kim's blog to wish her a happy birthday, and then visit Kylie's blog for all the details of the linky party. I hope you will join in and wish Kim a happy Birthday.
Thanks for Visiting
Joyce, I love the card and the lighter colour inside the petals, will have to look that one up. It really is pretty, reckon Kim will love it. I wont have any cake thanks I ate at Bev's and Darnells and Kylies so feeling rather full. But you can wrap a piece for me if you like :)
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning Joyce! I know what you mean about techniques working for others . . . I tried this technique and it didn't work for me?! I think I may have left mine to dry for too long? Anyway, have a lovely Sunday! Hazel xx
