Welcome to Week #78 at CASology where the cue word is DOT. Our sponsor this week is Neat & Tangled. This week's winner will receive a Neat & Tangled stamp set of their choice. I chose to work with Party Dot, a fun and festive set. I picked a color scheme that could work for a girl or a guy--always great to have an extra birthday card around for those birthdays that just sneak up on me. The colors I used were SU Pear Pizzaz, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo and Bermuda Bay.
I stamped a random pattern of dots all around the top third of my card. The stamp I used had three different sized dots spaced in a little triangle, so the stamping went super quickly, although I must admit to a couple of trial runs trying to get the randomness just right. (Is it still random then?) I decided approximately where I wanted the dots to end, and started there and worked up. I purposely have a sort of loose bottom to my stamping, as I wanted it to look like the dots were just bouncing around. I stamped the banner and sentiment on a scrap of white card stock, cut it out and adhered it with dimensional adhesive.

Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of funny how hard it is to stamp randomly! LOL! I love this colour combo and the fun party feel of the card. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling at your question about randomness and practice runs, Joyce ... IMHO yes, it's still random! This is fabulous ... I love how the dots seem to be dancing ... and the banner along with them! Great colours! Anita :)

ReplyDeleteYour dots do look like they are just bouncing around …very naturally! Great card and great job! Perfect for anyone.
ReplyDeleteA perfectly amazing colour combination!
ReplyDeleteYour randomness is very random. I can never get it to come out as I planned so I guess there is no planned randomness lol. The colors are great together.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration! Those colors are wonderful, I love that it's gender neutral, and the sentiment works perfectly with the design! I had to laugh about the "random" dots. I had the same problem with snowflake winter cards.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you've ever played battleship, but it reminded me of trying to place my ships on then game board where the other person couldn't find them. But they always seemed to end up being a pattern. lol
Love how the stamping is at the top of the card...the color combo is awesome Joyce!
